Well, we already have cockpits in the front of the ships, wide-open and easy to target (lol at the design), so why can’t we have more nonsense like wings? Voted yes for the lulz.
Considering fed frigate’s cockpits, they should be a one shot kill. Jericho on the other hand, I’m not even sure if the pilots are aboard.
Does that behemoth have ANY vectored thrusting whatsoever? I swear to god, I have not noticed anything on the hull…
Or the tiger…
I can’t find anything on the Mauler, but I can’t look under it. The bad part about the looks of it, the blue and orange lights aren’t customizable. Anyway, three turrets on top and three on bottom is better than the Crus series. For T5 is seems only Jericho has wings.
I’ll try to see about that 2d Cycle issue as soon as I get Rocket Science module MkIV. My Hard Secondary School module is at Mk4 already (managed somehow), but I’d need totally new module, so Good Old Papa’s Money company vouchers gonna be needed to upgrade. Than Study Like Hell On Time standards to go on. I guess it’s the same thing in Canadia, mate

And those are the ones that actually seem logical, because with the supposed technology they must have in that distant future, there’s no need to expose the pilot in order to see the surroundings.
Anyway, the whole thing about adding wings, I want to know if it’s to be done to the actual ships or to make new ships with more/bigger wings?
Nope, dude. No need for additional wings, afaik. If I could summarise:
As there are no in-atmosphere missions, wings suppose to play role of brackets. Only eventual change for some future design update would be: add gadgets on wings tops, to make them look like brackets. Nothing big or fancy, maybe some antennas, energy tanks, module relays, missile cartridges.
Nothing that would brake already good wing design concept or make our GPUs more busy.
If you look at ships like Kris and Arigato, they actually have Intakes in their wings, which leads to the assumption that these ships are capable of atmospheric flight (I really dont belive that they use some kind of combustion-engine while in atmosphere…tho).
So, this gives a hint that these ships are SSTOs. But since the game only takes place in space… Its nice looking after all.
Actually I really would hate it, if all ships only had simple geometric designs.
I can’t really show a pic of it because it is from a novel, and it won’t matter, since they are made of nano robots which adapt the hull to whatever you need:
Needle for launch
Sperm mode for FTL travel
Inverted delta for shield projection in space combat
Delta for atmospheric flight.
All of that packed around a neuroconected pilot and a computer AI, and powered by singularity tap and gravimetric engine.
