Remove All Stats from T1

Your OP says that you were suggesting to ban all players T1 regardless of premium ships or not if they have more than 250 games. I’m glad that you are now clarifying, even though it’s not in a very respectful way.

Well I apologize for my past manners, I was pretty mad about what happened

I do not want to ban players from things but I feel that something fair has to be done to help the new guys do their beginning tier for beginner players without being smashed by veterans.

People with low self esteem and very big epeen are a bane of all PvP games where it is possible one way or another to bully never/worse players.

I don’t think banning or direct restrictions is a good way to accomplish anything, but there have to be mechanics that not punish but rather discourage players from doing so, so if its needed they can do it (like playing with new buddies) but doing it intentionally to farm should be counter productive.

I can totally understand being frustrated about unfair matchmaking but calling people “cancer” “whores” and various other names is uncalled for. I’ve also seen your stats and you don’t seem to be having any issues in T1, maybe there needs to be more veteran players to challenge better players like yourself. Who have had a clear advantage in playing on their brother’s account and having him as a coach. This is an advantage that is hard to measure in stats.

Here is what happened recently to me:

I have a clean Alt game account, that i am trying to get into T2 in 3 factions, full Free to play style, to see what progressions are really like down there for free players with offset to my already experience in the game, so i am doing my thing, mostly farm bots for synergy and efficiency to progress faster, i encounter a guy from certain corporation, 1300+ rating (700+ games, according to his profile, with access to r14 ships) flying SOLO, have  4 fully synergised ships equipped, and, according to combat logs, full mk4 gear on at least one ship that he flew, so i figure i farm that guy in my mk1 ship, just a little bit. Got reported for cheating.

 Thanks Obama.

It would be a good idea to make t1 not affect your profile at all. Thus making it a proper training tier

Once player reaches t2 and equips t2 ships, a warning could be shown that they are about to enter t2 battle and their profile will now be affected

Such system lets total newbies play in peace while competitive play in upper tiers.

Nice suggestion. +++

if there is no discouraging downside in doing so, people will still do it, fo simple self a steam boost, if not for stats in a profile.

I know that feel

How do you know you were reported for cheating by the way?

That guy sent me a long angry message about me cheating and using aimbot. And then there are people that have to review all/most reports and enforce the law.

P.S. it takes about 15 to 20 games to Max r1->r3-> buy r4 and play 1st game on R4 ship. No license, no bonuses.

Why not something like

i-like-this-planet-you-get-off-futurama.

It would be a global economical and resources crysis to export all of them out of this planet

True, it wouldn’t discourage those people, you will always have that to some extent in all games anyway.

I do think it would be discouragement enough for those just farming for stats.

Hmm, I may have changed my opinion.

I just went back to T3 to synergize the Prom-X which I bought discounted and I felt like seal clubbing. The average solo player in T3 is noticeably worse than in T4. However, T3 is rather dominated by kill squads. If players don’t get turned away from the game by that in T3 why would they in T1? Might as well give T1 players a realistic view of the situation.

Of course you can also see it the other way around, maybe players do leave the game because of that and that’s why the player count remains so low but in that case you’d have to address it in all tiers, not just T1.

Players leave the game because that is what casual gamers do. They play for a bit, then find another game, and stop playing. So the game base is kept more or less stable.

The such named “kill squads” are just hardcore players squadding up. But they usually have another squad in front of them, so it is balanced.

And no, T3 players are the same than T4.

You are a solo player, is ok for you, but stop bashing others just for squadding up in a supposed teamplay game.

Do I have to remember you again that WPK are mean guys for playing as a team in a team game?

Maybe it’s the time then, I don’t usually play early.

I know you love me but come on, at least accuse me of that where it makes sense and not in a reply to a post where I oppose banning kill squads… /facepalm

There’s this thing about kill squads, that they play a lot, together. And if the game does not let you in T4 or T5 (we spend each day waiting 10 minutes per tier to get in one of the higher ones with 3 man - sometimes we do, most times we don’t), you  have to  switch to T3, and there we get our game in 1-3 minutes. But allready about 30 minutes of our time was wasted waiting for nothing. The recent idea with squad being forced to wait for another squad gives even more reason to stay in more populated tier, or just not play the game at all.

They need to fix this MM/squad problem with these eternal waiting times, and they will fix the kill squads scaring off new people, once they can get a game in higher tiers (or more people should just start squadding up or stop playing PVE). Also, one of the reasons I think they should completely remove the PVE from the game which not only that is dreadful, it effectively reduces the active player population and skewes the real number of active players online, probably half of more than that might be playing PVE while you’re waiting for a game in PVP, thinking the tiers are populated.

Also, I remember (still have video proof), a little les than a year ago playing in T2, where at the time PULSE (and later zero corp) was dominating in T2. Every game we played with them on our side, we ussualy obliterated the enemy team, and had big trouble or just being wrecked whenever they were on the other side. The names of the pilots were very well known raymaru, Drawl, JeanLuc and cisco211. I just started the game at that point, but they were already at a thousand games of experience or more (raymaru probably having even more, since he’s about at 10.000 now). And in T2. Which was, the most populated tier at the time, could say what our current T3 is.

But it felt good whenever we won and had them on our side. Felt really challenging when they were on the enemy, specially later once I joined a semi-organised zerg corp and we were trying to win against them. It was also the only team that broke our about 40 games win streak.

But you know what? Nobody complained about experienced players “farming” in T2 at the time. It’s just a recent trend this has started to become popular for some reason, it seems.

I wasn’t talking about Recon :)))

Well, personally I’d farm T1 in a gunship if I wanted to farm, but if you want truly unkillable it’s recons.

I should go back to T1.

So in summary of the topic lets have a general consensus.

  1. T1 Should not affect your stats.

  2. Once you equip T2 ships of any rank your stats will be affected from there on out.

  3. A notification will pop up once you equip your first T2 ship and tell you that Rank 4 games and higher will affect stats.

Thank you TerrorBlade for this excellent idea.
