Remove All Stats from T1

I am a veteran player (over 2000 games), all my T1 ships are fully leveled and I have made 4 man squads with my Corporation in T1. I have a few IRL friends that I recently introduced to the game and invited to my Corporation, they don’t have high rank ships so we squad up and I play T1 with them. They are nerdy like me and generally good at video games, and teamwork in T1 when you are all on voice chat goes a LONG way. My friends will try to synergize a ship but start sucking, so they go back to the ship they are good at that is fully synergized to do well. So sometimes it may look like I’m running a T1 deathsquad but I would never try to do that, or encourage that. Anyone who has played against me knows my stats are legit because I constantly play T3+ and Sector Conquest and I would prefer not to play in T1 but have no choice when I want to play with new friends. I won’t stop playing with my new friends in T1 because you don’t like to lose.

Removed offtopic. In this thread you are to solely to discuss the balancing suggestion “Ban Veteran Players from T1”. You are not to discuss a single Pilot in here.

What some of you fail to understand that the problem is not winning or losing but the fact that many new players with no understanding of the game leave it because this early experiences.

Most of you are using the “I’m helping friends” excuse when the OP is talking about deathsquads in T1

Also please be healhty, its embarrassing to read the posts that had to be deleted. If you want to defend your corp don’t be ridiculous and do it in a proper way.

“I’m helping friends excuse” is not an excuse, it’s an explanation of how unintentional deathsquads are being created. I don’t want to stop playing with my friends and creating so called deathsquads, so I guess I’m the cancer OP is referring to. It’s obviously making some new pilots have a poor experience but blocking pilots with more than 250 games(which isn’t much) is not a good solution. Creating a new que for players with less than 100 games might be a better solution to help players learn the game. Unfortunately that will mean longer que times and smaller games.

I’m sorry, but going to T1, picking a hercules or a Lynx, and just kill some random stuff is great from time to time, and the guys in your team will appreciate it, because they usually stick with you and learn.

It is a pity that some guys make 4 men squads and farm T1, but those are just a small fraction of players. And maybe they will encourage people to squad up and try to beat then in their own house.

So no, I don’t think it will be fair to lock T1 for veteran players.

I agree with the OP, but premium ships are a problem. They removed them at some point, and than put up back again. Refunding would be a problem, because that would mean that anyone can “lend” a T1 premium for free and than just give it back.

I see the issue here, and it can be avoided by fixing certain aspects of the current game meta, but until then, we are gonna have to deal with this.

Someone mentioned to me that once all your credit ships are maxed out, you are Locked out of T1 but only the premium T1 ships are still flyable. Seems fair to me, so if you want to farm T1, then you gonna have spend some GS.

What do you guys think?

Why stop at T1. Ban people out of one tier as soon as they buy a ship of the next tier to enforce progression and populate T5.

(IMHO blocking content is a bad idea in any tier)

Oh snib, why is that post riddled with sarcasm? You sly dog you.

Better idea, SR rating should be taken out until you buy your first T2 ship. SR rating cannot be gained NOR lost in pure T1 games. (R 1-3) But can be gained and lost in Rank 3-5 games and higher.

In this way the veterans cannot tank SR and would ONLY go down to help new friends to learn to play the game.

I see what you did there. Well played.

I have another awesome idea, we could label new players as (bot), give them free trial ships of any tier and see what happens.

It would be a good idea to make t1 not affect your profile at all. Thus making it a proper training tier

Once player reaches t2 and equips t2 ships, a warning could be shown that they are about to enter t2 battle and their profile will now be affected

Such system lets total newbies play in peace while competitive play in upper tiers.

How about anyone who is Rank X ( place a number greater than 4 ) or higher… if they enter Tier 1 thier kills are treated like bots…count only for game.   Then it will be totally useless for farming ?

Now if a Tier 1 ( rank 1-3) pilot moves into the upper tiers… ( like in a squad) then oh well

Locking content because “you are too good” is silly.

This issue could be easily avoided by separate MM queues for pro and newcomer players. Modify MM algorithm so for Tier 1, that players that haven’t yet played many games are not in same queue as pro players that want to come back to tier 1. It is not rocket science to have separate queues for same ranks.

If queue times get too long, then after some time (like 3 mins) ease the algorithm.

Issue solved without any insane restrictions.

yep, goes along with my Original Post.

This is the best solution I’ve seen so far in this thread

I wonder what OP thinks of this solution. I guess it would help but that wouldn’t deter me from playing in T1 with new friends. In fact it would be more fun, since my stats always go down whenever I play in T1.

How about this:
If a player with, lets say, 500 games + goes back to T1, each kill in T1 will refresh an image (dunno, week?) in his profile that will be visible to everyone viewing it:

and if he is managed to die in T1 by hands of a new player replace it with something that looks like PedoCrab or failed PedoBear:

If I get a pedo-bear sticker on my ships with that I’ll start harassing T1 right away!!

Or have a forced title next to pilots name for a week refreshed after each T1 kill :)))

why don’t you have a seat over there?

It is indeed a very good idea, making stat whores leave the tier because they can’t get anything there to show later to their buddies.

Again, I say that teaching people to play going to T1 is nothing bad. And AGAIN  my problem are cheap whores going in 4 man squad with 4 premium ships each to T1 to kill some n00bs.

It’s simple, if you have more than X games, let’s say 250 you can’t play T1 unless all your ships in your roster are not elite. Only for normal PvP. That means that if you want to level your T1 ships you can still do it, but you shouldn’t be able to take 4 elite premium ships (or not premium) and play.

Your OP says that you were suggesting to ban all players T1 regardless of premium ships or not if they have more than 250 games. I’m glad that you are now clarifying, even though it’s not in a very respectful way.
