The answer is no, no, and no… plus, an “are you kidding?”
If ANYONE thinks r14 destroyers will “mess the T5 PvP” … they must be pretty bad at this game, to be honest.
1st: Destroyers are tough, high firepower, yes, but a little interceptor Covert Ops can mess a destroyer pretty badly, and I’ll tell you more, people play more for themselves in PvP rather than work together towards the goal. #teamwork
2nd: I really believe most of you are adults and have a nice pay, right? Ok, but when you realize farming Open Space for materials is a slow progress towards destroyer production, have you people ever thought: Why use these hours to farm materials when I can just pay for it? If you consider you can spend 4-8 hours farming, working for a minimum wage ($7.25/hr) that same time, it would be $58 a day. So, if instead of crying because mining is too slow and that stuff, why not just work 2 or 3 days, and spend some money in the game??? TIME IS NOT REFUNDABLE!! Work, earn money, spend it, enjoy. And consider this: many of you spend hundreds on cheap CoD games or consoles or even clothes, so spending some $100 on GS to buy materials for destroyers, is simply worth it if you think on the time you are spending mining.
3rd: Koromac proposed a price of 500+ euros for r14 destroyers… Koromac, I’m sorry, but devs know that even r14 destroyers can be dealt with in a couple of seconds with a simple interceptor or a good team. They know it, and they know the value of those destroyers is not even that high.
Remember, this game relies heavily on teamwork, and class execution. If you have a destroyer, you know your role: keep the shots commin’… if you have a tackler: pursue interceptors; LRF? Sniping; Guards? debuff and be the shields of a squadron. Covert Ops? attack and bye bye. Recon? scout enemy positions, plant beacons, spy drones, and get out. Gunships? Fight against other fighters and deal heavy blows in a matter of seconds, helping tacklers too. (and I’m not a developer, but it doesn’t take any special degree or a PhD to understand how devs intended this game to work) It is just as simple! Fighters help each other to fight inties, frigates help each other to fight against frigates and destroyers, destroyers beat down frigates and destroyers, and inties mess up the big guys.
Anyone, see any unbalanced issue here? I don’t. I only see selfish people that don’t attain to their ship roles and teamwork, and they complain if they lose. PLAYERS UNBALANCE THEMSELVES. So answering almost everything, destroyers ain’t OP, destroyers do NOT mess up PvP, and destroyers improve the game.
Plus, its not even logic that there are no bigger ships than destroyers on a game where the year/date is 4500+ something… Gonna be waiting for bigger ships (think about it, 3 inties, 3 fighters, 3 frigates, … just 1 huge ship class? lets see what other nice surprises they have for us )
