@Kosty nice one but get back on track. Thing is ppl want squads, and they should implement them… That’s all there is to it. I don’t belive that squads would remove players from T5, Don’t see the reason for it. If you think that losing will get them to T3 what will happen when all those vet players drop down & start farming there? Because playing 4 vs 4 will get old real soon.
You cant now, the rank system put a stop to that. You que R9 to farm, MM will likely put you v R11 if you are a ‘vet’ player. R11 with up to R13 ect. Seems fair to me. Especially given how the rank rewards for different resources are distributed. Toughest battle there is queing for R8 as maybe you want neo and having to fight R10. But game should be challenging.

Like veterans aren’t farming T3 now, under a slogan of “It is more balanced”, there are not that many people that do look for a challenge, 4x man full prem r8 squads by “top players” is a nice proof to that. Majority of people will look for easy way out, because they don’t have to eat a cactus 100% of the time, they don’t want to and this is not why they are here.
T5 pvp is endgame.
Nor leagues, nor dreadbattles nor openspace or pve.
There should be no restriction on squads in there at all. If you reach r13 and still thinking about playing “random solo” and perform well without experience and teamplay: then that’s not a problem about the game, but on the player.
And who cares about them? They will never be good customers, they will be always so bad that they will always feels like robbed while spending moneys in this game.
And never spend more than the first expense.
Who need such guys? Noone, not the playerbase neither devs.
We need vets, who actually spend more money than 10 of those guys can ever spend…
Not a single “multiplayer” games out there is so carebearing about n00bs in endcontent stuffs. No one is so scared about it.
I think most of the problems with squads were about the fact that main tier for squads were t3. And also that a lots of (forgive me but that’s the only word to describe those) tw@** were playing even t2, farming Ace in kill squads. That was the real problem.
But ffs, t5, even if it will lost the brainless population of people that with 20 games will buy a mauler or a spark, 'cause they will keep loosing against vets squads: that’s not a big deal. They already leave raging when some of us rape them. Those people from every perspective, are not a great lost. They will never buy other ships neither will bring something good to the community.
Even if t5 loose half the population during eu/ru prime time, people that will still stay will be more happy customers than random n00bs.
Majority of those happy customers pay next to no cent anymore, and not because they are pissed, but because they already have everything, or they wouldn’t pay to begin with.
In any case, we all like to think T5 is “End game”, but truth is random pvp, no matter the tier is not an Endgame. Star Conflict doesn’t have a “classic” end game at all.
The only thing in this game that “truly becomes awailable” at reaching t5 is … wait for it… Leagues.
That
is
it.
everything else gradually becomes available down there in low ranks, Even Defiler is possible from r10, because it is a PvE envirement. T5 is just another area to play just takes longer for free players to enter.
Majority of those happy customers pay next to no cent anymore, and not because they are pissed, but because they already have everything, or they wouldn’t pay to begin with.
You have to keep in mind that some of us occasionally forget to take our pills or to wear our special helmet.
E.g. I would buy a “skin”, then change it, and then want the old one back. And the only way to do that is to whip out a money-card and leave your rear exposed to the SC developers. They call this act of violence “microtransaction”

And it won’t increase the queue time for t5? For anyone not playing squads? Is that good?

Feel free to point out where i said that nobody (of old players) spends money on this game
You forget that majority of the players that already have everything actually: payed for that.
Something that an unhappy customer will never do. What they need is to gather happy people that spend money, not “rob” casual players that will stay casual.
And eventually leave, easly.
The key is in creating addiction. Something you can’t achieve in a multiplayer game without social stuffs or really strong gameplay/gamemode.
The poor social stuffs we have now: doesn’ work out. 'Cause of the restrictions mostly.
Leagues are doomed, the only guys still activly playing are like 30 people in ultra organized teams. No one will face them, neither me… If i can’t train my team in random pvp than i will never go against people that are already ultra used in teamplay. We did it for months, then we got way to bored of that. Also that can’t be considered an end game stuffs, that’s more like an endless tournament with no reward and no diversification about gamemodes, rewards and… Opponents.
This game don’t have a real end game, that’s true since they removed old sector conquest and never released t5 dreads. Pvp is main content, t5 is the ending tier so: that’s it, as endgame should be enough even without a proper definition of it.
And it won’t increase the queue time for t5? For anyone not playing squads? Is that good?
Sometimes, when I get a fast match and feels surrounded by Aces in premium ships with less then 200 battles i feel so sad that i stop playing for a couple of days.
There is no fun at all in keep killing them and ending as the first with points/kill/capture: either case i win or i loose.
We don’t need to fullfill matches with those trashy stuffs, in the end is counterproductive.
So yes, if we loose those guys from higher tiers: I will not cry if i have to wait 3/4 minutes to play in a team with my friends against another good team.
i love all these predictions which are based on simply nothing

What kost said could easly happen. At least in the beginning, but eventually, with time: it will balance by itself.
Are you ok giving squads players some disadvantages?
Most definitely. getting squads back is worth it, as long as it’s not too unreasonable.
Are you ok giving squads players some disadvantages?
the more disadvantage you give a squad, even via MM rules or base weight, the more you get a natural selection process which will even PUSH pro squads, as being in a squad becomes a disadvantage for MM.
disadvantages can be there, maybe as a squad elo, or personal modifiers for different squads, okay, but they have to be completely dynamic.
and even if disadvantages are given in the matchmaking, there should be still rewards for squadding up, especially rewards which help development, so people are enticed to squad up.
treating squads by themselves like they are some kind of uber thing which decides everything is simply past the real discussion and we are talking about myths.
because the same process which supposedly “destroys” a tier because of “squads” can also improve the willingness to play with more pilots together.
What kost said could easly happen. At least in the beginning, but eventually, with time: it will balance by itself.
exactly.
short term effects in the past is all that these assumptions are based on.
also, being in a squad was half science, with all the ranks and queues and loopholes.
You cant now, the rank system put a stop to that. You que R9 to farm, MM will likely put you v R11 if you are a ‘vet’ player. R11 with up to R13 ect. Seems fair to me. I get this a lot & when I get a bonus of RU server it’s loads of fun… but that win like any other doesn’t give me neos… today 2 neodium out of 8 wins :012j:

Some are, it’s true… they user R9 ships, with some luck the get vs R8 & just demolish everything… I’m seeing it on a daily basis coz trying to get 10 monos for that 50 neodium deal… wit these drop rates it seems I’ll have to farm a little bit more…

Then make Leagues better… 1 corp=1 team, 8 vs 8 matches or even bigger… make it 3-4 times a day and at least 3 hrs long… no Destroyers in there. Something like old sec con, but bigger squads… maybe ppl would like that, big matches with friends… If they wont ppl to play Leagues adapt them… but they wont adapt them. U know why (of course you do, you not Jon Snow)? if they implement something like this all corp players would go and play this, PVP/PVE would be left empty, and those guys that don’t wont to find a corp & play this way would rage and talk bad about the game.
This system of Leagues is bad, 5 vs 5 is small IMO, and it’s adapt your RL with other in your team if you want to play…
CinnamonFake (Today, 12:58 PM):
Leagues?
What will it take to get it through your thick skull that leagues are not a replacement for pvp squads? It’s pretty obvious from the number of inactive teams dominating the leaderboards that this is dead content, so it’s obviously not being used by solo pilots to learn how to counter teamwork!
Here is your attitude regarding squads, presented as a tech support problem.
PLAYERS: “The PC isn’t working.”
DEVS: “Turn it on and off again?”
PLAYERS: “I can’t. The power button isn’t working.”
DEVS: “You need to turn it on and off again.”
PLAYERS: “You aren’t listening! The power button DOES NOT WORK! I can’t turn it on in the first place!”
DEVS: “Turning it on and off will fix that.”
CinnamonFake (Today, 02:26 PM):
It’s obvious for you maybe, but not for all the pilots who are playing them and preparing for May Marathon. According to you, it will be much more fun to smash solo players in PvP with a squad. The exact solo players, who don’t want squads or just don’t care. Leagues are the pure teamwork. But it’s a challenge and requires skill.
Way to not bother listening to what anyone says.
According to me, being able to play PvP with friends is much more fun than wasting time on a dead mode designed purely to appeal to the uber-competitive.
You pretend the only people who ever wanted squads are the uber-elite vet corps, and when presented with proof this isn’t the case you just flat out ignore it.
