that;s the last freaking thing this game needs is people reporting for accidental TK’s.
if people are too dumb to use their rockets/torpedos and have to shoot them in a group of their own team, they have to be reported.

they aren’t shooting at their own team, their shooting into a melee, which is the purpose of the torpedo (I’m assuming you’re speaking of the guided one with AOE), you people want to neuter an entire race’s ships ability.
You should be happy, as he probably took some enemies out with you…this just reeks of selfishness.

No, the pilot trying to pad his kill board is the one that reeks of selfishness.
i speak about every rocket/torpedo because they all do AoE-damage, standard missiles less, cruise missiles more. it might be acceptable to fire a torpedo if there are one or 2 of the own people but 4, 5, 6 enemies but i see it way too often that some fool fires his torp at 1 or 2 enemies while 5 of his own team are there in close combat

Oh, so now killing enemy ships and playing the objective is a bad thing, just re-spawn and move on.
I was playing as a captain for my team in combat recon, a team mate in a jerico frig kept shooting torpedo at me, eventually killing me it was deliberate because he did it from start to finish, I was in a frigate myself but didn’t made much of a difference.
I was unsure if I could have reported him, there does not seem to be much visible action put upon players for misbehavior or deliberate team killing. That and I wasn’t sure you can report players for doing dumb crap like that.
What is needed is a feature that will never put you in a match with anyone on your /ignore list.
This way you can eliminate the chronically annoying players from your personal universe.

This is why I asked if it was purposeful or accidental, as it completely makes a difference. It appears this guy didn’t want you sniping, so he could be the only one. You have a legit gripe, much much much moreso, than had he fired a torpedo into a group that was a mix of enemies and friendlies.
On the other hand…why not just move positions?

scruffy you just want to complain about something don’t you? Even tho the guy is clearly in the fault your STILL defending him. Why does a frigate where positioning is important have to reposition itself because another guy is being an utter a… very-not-nice-person

I’m not defending it (although i understand how the last sentence reads) or complaining, the guy was wrong, and the video is finally proof of an intentional TK. I’m just saying, maybe for op to move away from the douche, do his thing (snipe), and if he (the TKer) continues, then his case is airtight. OP didn’t do anything incorrectly in either case, actually the only thing he did wrong, is NOT TK the other guy first when it was apparent what he was going to do. Me, I after reading the chat, I would’ve popped him with the disintegrator, then fired missiles, and guns and blew his xxxx up.
Nip that xxxx in the bud…preemptive TK…and the chat logs back up the OP
If you play other shooters (I’m assuming you do), and if you play sniper correctly, they relocate, campers are almost always weeded out, so moving imo is actually more beneficial. I personally can’t stand people who want to report / punish / boot for Tk’s that aren’t intentional, like the people complaining about those who use the Jericho torpedo…they do that and an entire factions ships are completely neutered, the devs seem like smart people here, I’m sure they understand that.
Every shooter has TKs where FF is on, gotta get used to it, roll on, and accept it as a part of the game. Take a deep breath, say “Serenity Now!” and respawn. You start booting banning for accidents, you have very few people playing. Why? Becuase who wants to play a game where everyone is so hypersensitive…although in the OP’s case, it’s totally legit.
relocating myself might have helped but if this person was so bent out on tking then changing position wouldnt have mattered. his game conduct is still offensive and distruptive, and if it wasnt me he may have just started tking someone else.
also no one should have to relocate themselfs or adjust what they are doing to help the team bc one player decides to start griefing. i agree its a good idea to be mobile so you wont be easily found and destroyed by the other team. but thats by the other team, not your own teammates.

it maybe free to play but hopefully they will take action agasint griefers and trolls. even though they can just make a new account, they would have to either re-buy galactic standards/grind to get back to where they left off.
banning users that distrupt gameplay for others would be better than not doing anything at all. even if they just make a new account, atleast it shows the company is trying.

I agree with everything but, you MUST be able to prove that a TK is intentional (as you did), as I said, banning someone for popping a torpedo in a melee fight who takes out a couple of friendlies, while also taking out enemies at the same time, is NOT something that will be / should be punishable as that is how the weapon is used, and whether you look at it this way or not, that player is trying to help the team.
You can’t look at every TK as intentional because the reality is they are not.
