We are getting waaay offtopic here. The topic is that we need more people and bigger matches. 2v2 is just silly. When you and the other guy are stomping people trying to synergize their ships the normal way it is not fun. The other way around is not fun as well.
Anything below 8v8 or minimum of 6v6 is dull.
Advertising is a bandaid on a bigger problem. We’re not retaining players. It won’t do any good to grab a bunch of new players with expensive ads if we can’t keep them from turning around and leaving.

I think the mentoring system is a good idea and should help with player retention. However there needs to be more incentive for the mentors, such as make it possible to mentor in t2, where all the interesting modules come into play, and maybe even t3. Once people get to t3 they should hopefully stick a bit longer. Also maybe some other rewards, for example PVE specific, or ship class specific, or invasion specific, or increased synergy gain for both of them, to aid progression.
Actually I’m gonna make a thread about this.
The mentoring system fails, just because the game punishes squad play, rather than promotes it.
And now with the new rating system - A pilot with 8-9000 rating wanting to help a buddy start the game will lose 500 rating per game even if he does all the objectives (let;s say plant all 3 bombs) and have 20 kills 0 deaths.

I’ll turn that into a suggestion and put it on my thread.
Yeah I agree in the current game setup, squads are punished.
