Hey, if it can help get rid of guards in a frig ball, I would love to see how it impacts gameplay.

I dont understand why mixed damage is a good idea, but a “chainlightning” weapon mod would be a good idea (you dont fit your ships main weapon to counter frigballs every match, but a weapon mod could be sacrificed) or other forms of multi hit weapons mod.

2 types of damage at once can bring out interesting stuff and cancel / change the current thermal resists meta

I want Hadouken for my ceptor. Similar range and dmg to plasma arc, but with the “HADOUKEN” sound effect. If we have that, then I can honestly say “I’ve seen it all”

A doomsday device for my dreadnought which allows me to wipe out an entire enemy fleet in one go is all I want.

On a serious note - I’d love ‘proper’ drones - Fighters, Bombers, etc. in a giant supercarrier style ship. I have dreams which have me stand on the bridge of such a vessel and control an empire spanning thousands of worlds, pulling their strings like the little puppets they are. I shall return to my therapist now.

oh gawd a drone ship. SCon could use 3 of those.

Weapon name: Tazer

 

Effects: Slow down the target by 20%

 

Shoots a big green beam at the enemy.

 

Damage types:

 

Low EM

 

Low Thermal

 

High Magnetic.

 

Weapon Modifiers: Freeze energy lamp increases Magnetic damage by 3%

 

Freeze energy lamp 2 switches damage type to Kinetic also reduces magnetic damage type by 8.7% 

 

Range: 2100km

 

Speed: 3880km/s

 

Damage: 245 Magnetic

 

For T2+ Ships.  :fed010:

Debuff: 2/3 seconds.

Remove the thermal and magnetic damage and put that damage to EM, its a electrical weapon after all if i understand it right. The range is really short and the speed really high, i like this. I guess the debuff duration would be 2-3sec, but why a green beam?

No electric weapons cannot slow down the target but the cannon has a special type of magnet inside, the magnet also sometimes overheat but the overheating is low.

Here i am gonna show you how everything works.  

 

The magnet is in the middle of the cannon, to the left and to the right are beam chargers, when they fire on the magnet the magnet is starting to be warm.

Then the magnet makes the beam x2 size and launches the beam out of the cannon.

When hit an enemy the magnet start to push him closer to the ship and the enemy tries to fly away, but the magnet doesn’t have that strong force so it just slows down the enemy ship. That’s why the damage type is Magnetic. 

 

And the beam is green because the magnet doubles it and makes it green when firing.

due to the fact that all weapons currently use one damage type I recommend to use only one damage tpye in the suggestions.

I tried making a topic on additional damage types for weaponry and it was met with strong negativity. But I did receive some feedback on proposed weapons providing they remained within the currently instated damage types

Hmm you are right, i think we need EM on it but how can EM attract a ship to it? What about plasma cannons? Why doesn’t it slow down the ship you are firing at?

Why plasma guns (kinda is “very hot gas”, our sun is a huge plasma ball for example) deal EM damage is beyond me (It should be thermal damage in my opinion, but i keep quiet since it works well as a game mechanic). Just because the weapon messes with electrical charges doesnt mean it have to move the object, it could simply create a unbalance in the electrical charges in the target and make the material want to disolve itself(repell itself) or something like that.
