you can set them up in the key binds; I use C/V for up down, Y/X (Z/X on qwerty) for left / right
By default these keys are not bound. You have to bind them yourself (rotate left, rotate right…)
Using this tactic legitimately is fine as there is no bad tactic if it works. Only when it is used ineffectively is when it is “supposed” to be frowned upon.
Cruise tactics isn’t the basic problem. Double drone cruise is troll with cheese.
It’s the same as with painting: if you are a good, already use the right methods, and you can paint a picture as you want to paint it, there is nothing holding you back to create your own artstyle which superficially looks a lot easier to do; Good artists will still see, that you do it on purpose; But you will never become a good artist, if all you do is abstract painting, simply because you just never want to learn the techniques.
I have no problems with a player using this tactic to annoy stronger opponents, specializing in it, because it seems like a niche.
Already told you efefay, that especially oreg and me have used cruise since day 1. I own both drones in all tiers, since they are available. inclusive counter and counter-counter and counter-counter-counter tactics, because we used it a lot against each other. But I would never bring this, if I see everybody doing it.
So you are right, it’s not the tactic itself which is basicly wrong; it’s the mass execution that is annoying. It’s not guerilla anymore if you meet them in every game. It’s the people who I would influence, if they see me doing it. It’s just a bit of a cry for responsibility. And basicly I think it’s also a rant by oreg.
Imho, and we have talked this too, I think the big drones should get back spread. That way, leaving your big drone alone is less useful.
