Suggestion: Safe Zone around gates

To prevent getting “molested” how about bring a recon with cloak/warp and large sensor range, a t4 or less fighter craft with the new engine mod making you go 700 so you can gtfo if somebody tries to molest you.  A tackler can cloak, and won’t get uncloaked unless while still under invincibility (micro-locator doesn’t pull you out of cloak unless someone has aggression).  Use an ecm to shut them off and get back to the gate.  Use a gunship and just kill him… or run.  Solo Frigs are fairly easy to kill and are prime targets, because after all, they are support ships.

I’m not trying to show off, but give you strategies for surviving the ‘molesters’ out there.  Frigs are amazing when with others, but if you go out there alone in a danger sector… you will likely die.

I am totally in agreement with this new naming system! Molesters is so accurate!

And no, molesters aren’t PvP players. PvP players want a fair fight. Molesters want to molest helpless victims.

Yeah those maxed ships are OP!
There is no way to get good score or have a chance vs someone tier higher with that high tier modules!

It’s just t3. Nothing fancy.

Do it in Sec Con.

Been there, done that

I’ve watched pro StarCraft players take on a guy using a maphack and win. That doesn’t mean it’s a fair assessment of how that match would go against a typical player, even an above-average one.

Just because top-end pilots don’t have an issue doesn’t mean nobody does.

Which brings us back to the point, that there are safe zones, and if you have any issues, stay within that region.

Just because you have a daily mission to go out, doesn’t mean you must go there - cancel it, chances are it will be the safe one.

Using map hack is cheating. Doing gate camping is legit. There are two different things. And any “pro” starcraft player who uses map hack is swiftly dismissed and despised by the community.

No, it’s exactly the same.

Maphack is an unfair advantage. Spawn camping is an unfair advantage.

In both cases a top-end player can beat that advantage, but that doesn’t mean everyone can.

You don’t seems to understand the goal of such a safe zone.

In invasion, there’s no PvP, there’s 2-3 vs 1 taking down their target from the back in 0.1 second.

We should at least be safe at spawn.

We should at least be safe at spawn.

you already have invulnerability from the moment you spawned

Invasion “unsafe zones” are FFA, Free for all, act accordingly.

What part of “if you can not handle it, don’t go there” you can not understand?

This is whining about sector conquest all over again, when we had an outcry from new pilots in T3 ships that were facing T5 ships, just because you have a possibility to do something doesn’t mean you should.

10 seconds is nothing, that’s what is debated here.

I don’t request for invasion to be fair. It shouldn’t be.

But you should be able to prepare yourself.

A safe zone around the gate that once you leave it disappear is nothing you should complain about.

As long as your system can load fast enough to get you full 10 seconds, it is long enough to prepare. If your system can not do so, that is completely different story, leading to changing mechanics of moment when granting invulnerability, i.e. detecting when your system actually loaded.

When you spawn, you need easily 2-3 seconds to find the warpgate. 4-5 seconds to look around. Time’s up and you haven’t moved yet.

Even if that safezone upon spawn isn’t implemented we need at least 20 second invulnerability. 30 would be perfect.

That safezone requested here is just to wait for your team.

deal with it! 3v1 is way to go and 0.1 sec is just right. its your own fault you dont have purples and arent omniaware and lightning reflexex and super “skillz” to ninja that recon to gets you out of cloak, ecm to freeze you and cov.ops to rape your xxxx with plasma arc. not their problem. deal with it! …right… :stuck_out_tongue:

But you should be able to prepare yourself.

You are able to do so: prepare your ship, prepare your squad, prepare your evasive/fighting tactics, prepare your chosen route (some sectors are more prone to gate camping, and there is usually another way round).

Basically:

and you won’t have any problems.

And BTW, I hate you Tillowaty.  You just _had _to put that print screen where you got more eff points than me in a t1, didn’t you… :stuck_out_tongue:

It takes 2 seconds to realize where the gate is and see on a radar what is going on around you (unless mass LRF invisibility, but those hardly a problem anyways) you get 8 seconds to gtfo deeper into the sector, or prepare or get closer to the gate, avoid being triggered aggression and so on. Majority of ships have no problems avoiding gate ganking, use them, just because “oh but i want to fly a pve fitted mauler, hur, dur” doesn’t mean it is a valid excuse.

Kid, you gotta try harder than this. Not even face palm material yet.

Well, I don’t care about those 3vs1 situations. Even better, it’s what I find funny with invasion.

I’m one of those above average players and can handle such a situation right after spawn.

But, I’m speaking for the casual players. Most players don’t know how to react.

I have some friends in game (that discovered the game thanks to me). They didn’t even knew that there were 10seconds immunity.

My friends are still aces, I won’t lie. They tried 2/3 times, and just gave up invasion because of that spawn kill.

There’s a huge difference between spawn kill and 3vs1 in the middle of the map.

Spawn kill, you don’t see it coming. 3vs1 in the middle of the map, you does.
