Star Conflict v.1.2.5 Discussion

Now you have to give me a Destroyer and a Hunter for release!! Mwahahahahahahaaaa!!!

What did you do to da playerbase?!

Those nabs are sooooooo bad. T4 feels like T2

Or at least blueprints for each^

Hyperion, our comments are in stark contrast to one another.

I don’t think your suggestions will be implemented. Mentorship is implemented via the titles already (no one has them AFAIK), and the arena is addressed (sort of) by custom games and league. They aren’t going to tweak them in the direction you want, and they won’t solve the root problems either. The game pop will not support separating queues by number of matches played, I doubt that will be implemented too.

Of course we do it Dirk, i saw the FS mission on our test-mac today, and all was good (as far as i know they are still seeking the nature of problem)

Strange that this bug didn’t come up in testing then… Well I look forward to any info you dig up regarding this issue, as those of us who are encountering it can’t really play the game.

Not at all interested playing in leagues, even if they were available 24 hours and 8v8, I want to play fun pvp with and against friends like we could for 2 years.

I agree with Cr0. While Leagues are a good place for competition and end-game organized squad-play, they are in no way a suitable replacement for squadding with friends in PvP.

If the concern is that us veteran pilots are ruining the game for the newbies, then the solution is fairly straightforward, and two-sided.

On one side, prevent tier-rushing. Make it so that you need a minimum number of pvp battles before you can get to the next tier or some other method of preventing tier rushing. Too many new players do it because they don’t know any better and they likely think that end-game play is as easy as early-game, just with different ships and modules.

On the other side, make hard caps on low tiers (T1 and T2), and not using skill rating. Make it so if you have over a certain number of pvp battles, you cannot play T1 or T2 anymore. This would make T3-5 open ground for vets, but leave T1 and T2 for players who are still learning the game.

Regardless of what you do to correct the issue of vets ruining the game for newbies, that is no excuse to remove squadplay from pvp. Many players play video games so they can play with their friends, and the lack of that ability will likely cause many new players to quit.

Regarding the christmas event, i’m somewhat disappointed with the fact that you have to do 1 assignment each day, instead of like the Halloween event were you were able to do several of them in a row when you had time to play.

I noticed some things in Invasion which i hope are just bugs and not ninja changes, both the sentry drones from the Tackler if they get the finishing blow on a enemy you wont be awarded karma, same goes for the attack drones of engineers. I haven’t tested the negative karma side of things, but i would assume it’s the same thing.

Thumbs up for the Combat Recon change.

So what’s the dealio with the price changes of certain things, could we get some details on this?

Ninja changes. Deal with it

Pretty much sadly.

Can someone tell me, what are those 2 black and empty areas, when you click on Manufacture button for Secret Project ship?

I know this somewhat got answered already, but i was on the verge of creating my first Secret Project Ship when i read this, now i’m wondering if it’s safe to still create them or if should wait because in the near future stuff is getting added to the Secret Project ships (don’t want to waste materials and whatnot).

Attention! Reward for ship assignments has been changed. Now it’s random loyalty of one of the 6 factions.

Good change for newer players/players with not to many resources, but for somebody like me who has the reasources to switch stations i wish the loyalty vouchers was still dependant on where you’re docked at, maybe give people a option to select what they want.

Though these 3 things are more related to the previous patch, the previous patch thread got shut down before i was able to post, so i’ll just post it it now. ^^

Wouldn’t the Launch menu make more sense if the ‘‘Pick Scenario’’ and ‘‘Conquest’’ buttons would swap sides and then move the Galaxy Map to the right of Pick Scenario so the PvE and Pick Scenario buttons would be right next to each other. Maybe even attach them somehow like how it is with PvP and Custom Battle buttons, just somewhat bigger (seeing the Custom Battle button is tiny). This would draw way more attention to PvE and Pick Scenario as being together, because i heard in the past that people didn’t even know they could pick what PvE mission they want to queue up for.

Removed cooldowns between errands, now you can complete them without interruptions.

Slightly reduced rewards for each errand.

Could we do something similar like this to the actual faction voucher Contracts, there are times were i take a hour break for the sole reason of waiting until the cooldowns of certain contracts have ended (or i’m forced to play with practically no Faction vouchers reward) or i will just stop playing entirely because the contracts aren’t giving me anything worthwile anymore . No cooldowns might be a bit much for these types of contracts, but maybe allow us to go between stations without progress resetting, i always hated how the negative (cooldowns) does stay when you switch stations, but the positive (contract progress) gets reset.

With the new look of the menu and the contracts menu not showing the amount of loyalty vouchers anymore, i find we really should have a easy to see/find section were we can see all our currencies. I’ve seen a post from one of the developers in the past that said something along the lines of ‘‘well you can just hover your mouse over the credits’’, but honestly that’s not the most intuitive thing to do imo, especially for newer players i think it can be a bit confusing as it is now.

I actually hope they go sort of in the opposite direction Dirk.

Let me clarify. I am a f2p T3 pvp player with 2 years in the game. Most vets are probably GS t5 players, so I’m kind of closer to the newbs than others. Most players, especially low level newbs trying it out (not GS tier rushers), are probably f2p.

I don’t want to grind to t5, it’s not worth the time and effort imo. Now, I know some might say ‘just stick in t3 then, you haven’t put in the work or paid for T5!’ That’s true, but going back to Hyperion’s point, people play games to have fun and for gratification.

For most newbs, the game isn’t fun and takes too much work to have fun. That’s why we haven’t seen the game pop go up. Even with advertising, we have to fix the game mechanics first (I know this first hand, see above). That’s the point Doomb0t is making when he talks about advertising, newbs, and vets.

My ideal scenario is actually get rid of the grind, make it drop-in play like a fps game, where you start on equal footing at the start of the game. Get rid of 4 levels of upgrades on equipment, get rid of so many ranks so that there’s a wide selection of ships with different equipment load out options, but all essentially on the same footing. No more t3 vs t4 or t4 vs t5.

To separate different tiers of players, make maybe a newb section and a vet section, but that’s it. And also semi-voluntary selection between the 2, like server preference.

How do they make money and what happens to GS ships? Basically they become skins and showoff effects, like microtransaction shops in other games.

The real reason vets don’t like the game currently is because it does not support reliable, fun, competitive play. If a newb or tier rusher ventures into a vet game, they can wreck the balance. Vet proposals so far have not addressed the root cause imo.

Better would be to go in the opposite direction like Ace Online, where combat is open and opt-in with massive battles (fun!) rather than close things down into tightly regulated matches where 8v8 can be ‘ruined’ by a new player. That has created an unhealthy us vs them mentality imo.

I’m sorry, but I do not value your opinion :frowning:

I still have a personal crusade against late join on certain game modes

Same, I too often experience the game is already over or determined if you join late. At least, if this is going to continue, the battle times should be longer - not shorter.

I like the Combat Recon change, but I whish it was more obvious when the captain is “killable”. Maybe I missed the symbol for it, but it should be stated that the enemy captain kill now starts to count somehow more prominently.

I also like the fact, that the events have nice rewards, both the holiday one and the weekly one for the leagues. The custom screen for dailies is nice, and you still kept the ability to make people buy more if they feel like it, which is so important to the usual delusional management, which thinks it will actually increase sales. Mission well done. However most of it, won’t affect me much.

So these were the nice changes.

Not so nice is the lack of understanding, that Leagues atm. is not “the thing”, and further trying to lure people away from PvP, where since the lack of squadding or proper rewards, players seem to have embraced the “well lets all go solo” mentality anyway, keeping the exit door as wide open as always.

Leagues is just not the replacement for 4squads, in any way, and is just a torture atm. serving only third generation veterans, who wanna make a name. It’s too small teams for that game mode to be fun, and came way too late and should have been kept a test until the next “big influx” of players, since it only works with a larger playerbase.

Additionally to the introduced rewards, PvP should still also stay a major focus, and get finally more endgame rewards, more stricter rules for slotting ships in T5, more opportunities to have teamplay in T5, and gradually introduced mid-rules in R9-12, which is basicly the new mid-tier. Progression until R9 should be lightning fast, and slow down gradually.

Then we can talk about a game changing patch, which is revolutionary.

And yes, I know, not everybody is a fan of PvP. But this does not excuse to treat that queue always as a buffer to try out new game modes which may or may not work or need a lot of social setup, it also needs constant attention, because loyal pvp players keep this game more alive, than all other modes.

I really enjoy the holiday rewards, even made me play leagues today for 40min - something I havent done for weeks. But, after this reward is collected - I don’t see myself continue playing it to be honest. It is not an ideal replacement for PVP-squadding.

Yes, it’s not an ideal replacement, we are still seeking a solution.

Anyhow, we have been able to win a few SCL battles since the update (before it there was not a single win) which makes us happy and play more. I think more pug ‘leaguers’ like us play it now. We even have new players to join our wing. Too bad there is that 7 max limit for invites so someone has to be removed each time a new player wants to join.

Nice to see that. Heard you about invites.

Running into a Defiler always feels awesome… even though there is not much to do with it but avoiding.

Hahh… who said that^? That poor dinosaur will get what it deserves. I smell revenge!! :fed006:

For those who had not seen what the destroyer looks like:

You’ll want some form of translator unless you can read russian.

Just wait for the Jericho one. ;3

Nice to hear ^^

Is “Spur” and “Destroyer” new modules? Just noticed them in the T3 battle.

It this the new A1MA?

I’ve seen spur before too. Had no idea what it was. Just accepted it as weird.

Destroyer though, may be the exclusive weapon given to some rabbit/bunny player that completed all ship’s synergy first. I got a notification about it back when synergy was changed to a requirement to get new ships.

Mousing over things in battle log should show the thing that they are. Like when people buy prem ships or build custom ships.

Here is the current Leagues schedule:

NRLa8Za.png

Note how all 3 cycles are easily accessible by Russian AND European players, some players even capable of participating in all 3 cycles (including the one that is supposedly in peak time), and then if we look at American population, we see that there only 1 cycle that is somewhat accessible to half of the population.

Moscow has 7-pm and 10-pm time zones, that easily cover the “teenager” and “working adults” population, giving a chance to participate to those groups in one of those times, and somewhat allow flexibility for Russian population spread over time zones (but keep in mind that population density in Russia is compressed around Moscow time zone ±1/2 hours, while in America population way more spread on edges, aka coasts of the country, and we have 3-4 hours between us)

Leagues available to most Russian players = Russian servers. No thanks, im done with 280-300 ping. If leagues are meant for everyone, then be fair on server selection and not just favour Russians over everyone…getting into Rus server with 100% chance even when my team is 100% from USA is infuriating. BTW, why do i have to play in Rus/EU servers at open space even when im the only guy in the map? why cant i go into USA server?
