The small core of forum inhabitants of the non russian community is not a representation of all players. In fact, it is a really small sample of them.

 

In fact the forum traffic is so small that we could just make a skype group and talk among ourselves, and I won’t notice the difference.

That’s true, I agree with you there. But you seem more optimistic, do you really think the game is gaining players overall at this point? It doesn’t feel like it from sitting in pvp queue.

It isn’t. If the devs would provide playerbase numbers, you could see that easily (hence why they don’t provide those numbers on their “stats” sheet).

 

If you don’t like waiting in queue, pop on the OWL or CDF TS sometime, we are always forcing US servers by queueing with 8+ people during US time

Otherwise, the game may not die, but it will stagnate. Like Ace Online (RIP SCO). =(

I actually haven’t, I quit when the predecessor (SCO) had its servers shut down. I was most well know with the ign ‘Falchion’ on the Trimus server, but I also had chars on Hov and Joymus.

Edit: the reason why I bring up SCO/Ace Online is because it’s the game most like Star Conflict for me. Star Conflict is my replacement for SCO.

I replaced Ace online with SC as well, but i think some features of Ace Online are far better than SC (which lead me to propose similar ideas over open space long ago with no impact at all…basically allowing wars and Strategic Points in sectors like they used to be in Ace online).

Makes me wonder how nice it would be if we didn’t have to force servers as the USA playerbase would be large enough to do this for us, and if we could play in larger squads that could easily get games. I can imagine some truly impressive things…

 

We usually force USA games during our PrimeTime, slightly before and after Dreads. Plus we always have a crazy after-party in the LAIR PvP room after dreads.

Makes me wonder how nice it would be if we didn’t have to force servers as the USA playerbase would be large enough to do this for us, and if we could play in larger squads that could easily get games. we’ve changed servers today, it should help.

Yes, there was a huge wall of whining on ru forums yesterday. That’s why we’ve decided to revert it today.

That’s unfortunate. I was going to list it as a major plus. It’s a fun game mode, but it’s  way  too easily ruined by one-ship-wonders.

 

 

As for the rest:

[++] Increased time to team battles.

[+] Quick response to the Secret Project bonus ‘bug’, good to have these back.

[+] Fix to Cruiser engine bug.

[+] Unlisted change to Servers. My experience with RU servers has improved slightly - no packet loss. However, I  have had worse ping and unusually frequent packet loss on EU servers now. This is new.

[+] Open space assignment fixes. I know a few players who had problems with the completion-inability bug.

[=+] Change to balance in Defense Contract and Fire Support. They’re pretty tough but I can see why this was necessary for the earlier parts, pre-Cruiser.

[=+] Fix to Rank 11s in League. Indifferent because it didn’t apply to me, but it will for other teams and that’s a good thing.

 

No rating as it’s a very minor update. Still, good stuff. Kudos.

For what it’s worth, I’m glad you did. The playerbase isn’t always right about what’s best for the game, but I don’t disagree with them here.

Hopefully there’s another solution possible. (Always that error message prompt I suggested…)
