You are welcome to discuss the patch here.
It would be nice to know approximate statistics of how many teams participate in each League time bracket

Not bad. Worth to be considered. But you know that we don’t like to reveal stats.
tell me about it…
maybe at the end of the test season show some combined stats or something
It’s a great redecorating job to the hangar interface appearance. It only took a few minutes to figure it out functionally.
For the blue open space missions, it indicates free synergy with the purple mark, and the current value along with it is our free synergy value. We don’t get free synergy for those; we get regular synergy on the ship used.

Looks like a bug, let us check it.
Update: We’ve checked it, the description of the quest shows that the reward is only current synergy, not free. If you saw something different - please show us.
Update 2: there was the wrong colour of the icon, will be fixed. Thank you for the note.

I think it is possible in some form
I think, we needn’t the clicking of the completed Contracts and Assignments.

This. What was the point of this change?
I think, we needn’t the clicking of the completed Contracts and Assignments.
This. What was the point of this change?
Well, it has been done, cause many players before didn’t even look on their contracts and therefore didn’t monitor their progress. But contracts are important for levelling and we want to motivate all players to monitor this thing.
Besides
Finished contracts are automatically turned it when you press ‘To Battle’ in Hangar or debriefing screen
However we are monitoring feedback about this now, thank you for your opinions.

The value of 1,594,849 with the purple marker is my free synergy. The missions are not adding to that.
I took a full synergy ship out to do one of these too. It did not add to free synergy with an elite ship either.
This. What was the point of this change?
I was ready to shoot this Patch down because of that change, but I’ve been told they automatically complete once you queue. In a sense it gives both the benefit of being able to click juicy buttons which give you money and the needed automation since that gets boring very fast after a while. This behaviour isn’t made clear at all right now and I can imagine Aces complaining about having to click them every time already. Haven’t checked if this is indeed how it works or not yet either.
That said, I do like the new interface, it looks snazzy. The right-hand hangar notifications do too.
The countdown to new mission availability seemed broken to me when I tested it yesterday, just showing 0 seconds remaining instead of the actual time.
There are also a number of smaller changes I’d suggest, such as adding a number in the corner of every contract as opposed to adding a sentence like “This contract requires r10 ships” to every description. Descriptions indeed, we used to have a detailed description page available when viewing contracts in the past. It wasn’t terribly vital, but it was lost.
Then there are the iridium contracts. Hovering over the iridium tells you “Corporate Iridium” or something like that, but it’s still listed as “Your Reward:”.
It might be nice to sort the contract list by rewards, reward type, progress or required rank (the old sorting), but that’s not really important either.
What is more important is knowing for how long a contract will lock up. Story missions have these nice extendable descriptions, maybe this and the info from the old descriptions (particulary “Mission available in PvE/PvP”) could be presented in a similar manner, as well as the required ranks.
I assume missions you don’t have the rank for yet are greyed out and always on the bottom of the list, right?
The Empire/Fed/Jericho buttons on the contract imply you click those to see the contracts for that faction, not necessarily switch hangar. Maybe add a “Switch Hangar” text? Minor, but the outline around the currently selected hangar isn’t particulary visible against the blueish background.
I like the premium-license information not being overly obnoxious.
Edit: Some of the character profiles add a small scrollbar on the side which scrolls about one pixel up or down.
It would be nice if the list would automatically scroll down far enough to keep a mission description on screen when you expand it.
When small things like this are the “problems”, then there isn’t much wrong with it
I like the changes to the contract system. It seems like it will now be easier for newer players to grind vouchers because they do not need to do three separate lines at the same time. Good job with this! Additionally, while I do not mind manually completing contracts, maybe it would be better to have a “complete all contracts” button to reduce the number of clicks? Possibly even something you can do from the garage without going to a new screen. I understand time and effort went into it and it does look quite nice but after a while you stop looking at them and start mass clicking to get your vouchers.
New patch, new review! As always, no punches pulled, and all respect and compliments given when earned.
So let’s dive in.
Reference Key for Ratings:
[+++] EXCELLENT addition or change. A defining part of what makes this patch make the game awesome.
[++] Great addition. Useful, cool, interesting, or relevant to balance in a very positive way.
[+] Good addition. Nothing major, but a positive addition.
[=] Indifferent addition. Neither good nor bad, and uninteresting.
[==] Extremely indifferent addition. I question why time was taken to make this change.
[= +] Indifferent to it, but good for the game.
[= -] Indifferent to it, but bad for the game.
[-] Poor addition. Nothing major, but has potential to detriment the player experience.
[–] Bad addition. Significant enough to actively detriment the player experience, and more likely than not will do the opposite of what it was intended to do.
[—] INFURIATING AND AWFUL addition or change. Significantly hinders player experience. Ruins something important. Decisions like this can legitimately KILL games.
Color Key for Final Results:
Excellent patch. This patch makes me glad to be playing Star Conflict, and glad to be part of its community. I look forward to much more like this. [8 - 10/10]
Good patch. However, some changes that are in it still cause concern. [6 - 7.9/10]
Not-so-excellent patch. This patch makes me worry about Star Conflict’s future, though it may offer some hope to counteract this. [4 - 5.9/10]
This patch is bad. Some part of it will likely cause an exodus of players on a significant scale, and might bring me with them. Some or all of it needs to be rescinded, and fast. [0-3.9/10]
[+++] Assignments. This is a beautiful change, and not only improves immersion but streamlines several processes into a single menu with extremely good ease of use. My only complaint is that it’s a little difficult to notice the ability to read the character bios, as the icon to do so is rather small and may not be seen by most players. Don’t listen to what the haters are saying, this is a good move on the devs’ part.
[++] Changes to leagues. Expansion of team size and more invitations eased some temporary concerns that I’ve had about the first season. Still concerned about team size, but 4v4 is fine.
[+] League time change, I think. Should be a good idea to confine Leagues to specific prime times to maximize participation. Hoping this helps, and that the times work for all time zones, especially North America…
[+] Lighting change in the hangar. It looks much nicer in here, feels more futuristic/techy somehow. Nice work.
[= -] Removal of loyalty voucher gain from ‘additional devices’. Not sure why this was necessary, especially since nobody really buys those anyway. Removing upside doesn’t exactly encourage future purchases.
[-] Vouchers are now only listed by hovering over resources in top right in hangar, since the assignments tab doesn’t show them. Already have a suggestion about this in progress.
[-] Secret Projects synergy level ‘bug’. This really should have been caught earlier, and it has functional blowback to the players. Not happy this slipped through.
And as there was no warning to the players ahead of time regarding the changes, additional points are deducted from the final score.
Final Result: 9.0/10. Patch 1.2.4 provides an excellent change to the UI, as well as several other minor positives. However, as there was no forewarning to the changes and some issues with the added ones, the patch will require additional fixing, which unfortunately only reinforces player frustration with the devs - we want existing content fixed more than we want new toys.
One last thing - I have been consistently pleased with what I have seen recently in your push to increase and improve transparency in the English-speaking playerbase. You guys are far more active on the EN forums than ever, and I even saw devs in the English in-game chat addressing concerns. The increase to transparency gives me a lot of hope for the future of the game. In the face of mounting concerns and worry from the EN playerbase, you have been raising your efforts to help alleviate this. My most sincere thanks to the devs, and especially Aliskosan and Doomb0t, for that. Keep it up!
Edit:
CONTRACTS AUTOCOMPLETE IF YOU QUEUE.

CONTRACTS AUTOCOMPLETE IF YOU QUEUE.
good to know.
In a sense it gives both the benefit of being able to click juicy buttons which give you money and the needed automation since that gets boring very fast after a while.
Exactly
This behaviour isn’t made clear at all right now and I can imagine Aces complaining about having to click them every time already.
On the other hand, they are monitoring their progress. I think it’s just a matter of time to getting used to it.
That said, I do like the new interface, it looks snazzy. The right-hand hangar notifications do too.
My point exactly
The countdown to new mission availability seemed broken to me when I tested it yesterday, just showing 0 seconds remaining instead of the actual time.
Yes, the problem exists. Re-login helps. Working on the solution.

Agree, we are thinking about it (i mean descriptions). Some improvements have been already implemented, some are coming.
The Empire/Fed/Jericho buttons on the contract imply you click those to see the contracts for that faction, not necessarily switch hangar. Maybe add a “Switch Hangar” text? Minor, but the outline around the currently selected hangar isn’t particulary visible against the blueish background.
Let us think about it

First of all thank you for the work in game chat yesterday. Also thank you for the review, as always.

I like this too, especially bios, story elements are extremely important.
Changes to leagues. Expansion of team size and more invitations eased some temporary concerns that I’ve had about the first season. Still concerned about team size, but 4v4 is fine.
Changes are good and more of them are coming, yes.
League time change, I think. Should be a good idea to confine Leagues to specific prime times to maximize participation. Hoping this helps, and that the times work for all time zones, especially North America…
Team Bacon finally can fight vs Milllanbel&Eviscerador team, are you scared already?
Lighting change in the hangar. It looks much nicer in here, feels more futuristic/techy somehow. Nice work.
Many players even explored new ship details with new lighting :fed001:
Removal of loyalty voucher gain from ‘additional devices’. Not sure why this was necessary, especially since nobody really buys those anyway. Removing upside doesn’t exactly encourage future purchases.
It was necessary. Really.
Vouchers are now only listed by hovering over resources in top right in hangar, since the assignments tab doesn’t show them. Already have a suggestion about this in progress.
Yep, and you’ve already seen my current answer.
Secret Projects synergy level ‘bug’. This really should have been caught earlier, and it has functional blowback to the players. Not happy this slipped through.
Sad that because of this we did not receive Ten from you

That, and this:
And as there was no warning to the players ahead of time regarding the changes, additional points are deducted from the final score.
It was necessary. Really.
Curious as to why. Nobody I’ve ever spoken to has used one - the average player would much rather save for or spend their GS on things like licenses and ships. The additional devices never even come up, and when I mention it the answer usually is in the realm of “why bother?”
Yep, and you’ve already seen my current answer.
True. Still hoping there’s a solution that both parties can be happy about.

Can’t reveal this information :-(.
I rather liked the previous style of assigment bar, it was more coherent with rest of the gui, which is kinda “blocky”.Otherwise nice patch.
EDIT> well I am not sure how would it look, but maybe it would be better. Its not like I have any real problem with it :).
Well, it has been done, cause many players before didn’t even look on their contracts and therefore didn’t monitor their progress. But contracts are important for levelling and we want to motivate all players to monitor this thing.
Show this information as notifications and allow users to turn them off just like rest of the notification types
or show it with other rewards after match (battle reward sceen)
