Until the day I die I will never understand people like you, Efefay.
This product has a problem. Many problems, but today we’re specifically talking about the problems with the new content.
Your response is to turn around and say “if you don’t like it, don’t use it!”
Here’s a parallel I’m sure many Americans will know well: Comcast. Comcast gives you xxxx service. They also hold a monopoly, and their attitude is “if you don’t like our xxxx service, don’t have internet!”
That attitude helps no-one. It doesn’t help customers, it doesn’t even help the business. Problems should be fixed. People who find problems should have a means to voice their concerns, and people with the means to fix problems should try to do so. The result is better for everyone; the consumer gets a better product, and the retailer gets better PR through word of mouth about their quality product and good customer service, which in turn encourages more people to become their customers.
As ever, the fact the Devs don’t communicate is the problem. I don’t know where this idea came from, but if they’d actually done what I and others have asked for MANY TIMES then it would have come out much better.
Namely, what should have been done is this:
-
Dev Blog announcing plans for the content.
-
Active efforts by the Devs to get feedback on what players think.
-
Redesigning of content based on initial feedback.
-
Second Dev Blog to check for anything stupid that’s been missed (like what happened with Sector Conquest and allowing Rank 5 pilots to fight ESB…).
-
Redesign to remove anything stupid that was missed.
-
Launch.
-
Collect live feedback.
-
Tweak based on how the content works in the live game.
Instead, we get…
-
Launch.
-
Disregard live feedback.
-
Tweak. Or not. We don’t really care.
Jason, I agree with most of this and this is how the updates and patches should work.
The fact remains that it is the Dev/Gajin’s choice on how they want to proceed (To success or failure)
As it is our choice to pay or play. This is not a monopoly or a necessity. If we don’t like the game or the direction
it is our choice to not play.
Efefay (and the others) are correct in the fact that. It is SOMETHING (albeit small) for NOTHING .
All but 8 -10 of my ships are used some of my ships have not been looked at since purchase to get to the ship I wanted. So I will
send them off for a while and get something in return. I don’t really understand the rage against free stuff.
I do agree that fixing other problems and issues without adding more crap should be much much higher on the list of things to do.
I just don’t really see a reason to complain about the free morsel.
