Star Conflict v.1.0.6 Discussion

Invasion

You can now launch into Invasion on ships of all ranks

You can still only launch into Invasion when you reach rank 4

Am I the only one who thinks this is clear as butter?  Really…what changed?  And why not just make R1-3 pilots able to play invasion but restrict them to the main stations and the neighboring areas?  Sure, they won’t last very long, but it’ll make the new players want to play more instead of “Well, xxxx, this grind is so xxxx long and they won’t let me do anything else until I get into T2…”

Looks like they need more Mk5 gear.

Looks like they didn’t find the good settup to manage all the phase during the fight with the Defiler.

It’s not only a question of gears, all raids in all games are “Die,Retry,Progress” when they are released.

It would be a shame if a Raid can be defeated by a group of randoms the first day.

You need to have one rank 4 ship to have access to invasion.

But you can use rank 1-3 ships in the base sector. Before that, you couldn’t launch in tier 1 ships. Now you can.

You won’t be able to go anywhere out of base station, but hey, you can.

I tried the new PvE mode.

Result: one of the most insane raids i’ve ever seen and a big waste of duplicators.

  • 1 shot of the defiler emitter is enough to kill a 45k survivability ship with 200 pts of em resistance and you can’t avoid it unless you cloak, use scatter field etc (don’t know if missile shield works, still haven’t tried). Most people use frigates (and is right, you need both range and resistance) so trying to evade them is a bit hard…And you can’t keep the distance or you’re out of range of your weapon in most cases.

  • The matter inverter…this is the biggest problem. When you see it one may think: “it’s like a pulsar so if i can put an obstacle between me and it i’m safe”. NO! It pierces through obstacles and is really a BAAAAD thing and takes down a jericho frigate shield in 4 sec (as i said with 200 em resistance, there’s no source of thermal ok kinetic damage in the entire raid as long as it last).

Biomorphs deal a lot of damage but can be handled by some guards with pulsar and torpedoes.

Obviously there is a pattern in the enemy attack and i’m sure that once figured it out, things will be easier but now this is the situation. And for what? 3 purple loot every 24h.

Please tweak difficulty and loot drop, it doesn’t worth for now but the idea behind this is good

I haven’t tried it yet, but please wait a bit till you request a difficulty drop.

Top end raid content MUST be difficult. It must be so difficult that even a very good team with top ships cannot just rolf around and kill everything.

Any MMORPG works that way.

Only a few corps can muster up 12 pilots with good skill and gear. Most players will just try random groups of 12.

Yeah probably a difficult drop is too much but some things (like the “piercing” matter inverter) should be at least reconsidered

So? of course they will fail. Did you try to do a top end 25 raid with randoms in WoW? even now with the easy mode, they are quite challenging.

All raids have their own tactics page, where you can see what is the recommended setup, configuration and tactics for every boss and every phase. That is all made through trial and error.

In fact, in all raids there is always a race in time to finish the raid the first, and the guild that does that is respected. Nobody does it the first time…

have you MMO ever?

40 Man Naxxrama or gtfo (“vanilla” days)

have you MMO ever?

Actually I haven’t. Star Conflict is the first real game I’ve played before. I dislike games where you see your avatar from third person and from birds eye view.

40 Man Naxxrama or gtfo (“vanilla” days)

I joined wow in RotLK, I have always been an EVE toon first. Even if I don’t play since Rubicon…

completed the new mission, its pretty fun. took a few tries to work out what to do. personally i think the reward should be increased, it takes a considerable amount of time and also finding 12 people is a pain

Tank isn’t the issue, here. That thing will 1-shot you, regardless of you having 0 or 200 EM resist, it seems.

That map seems to be focused on “who will spend the least amount of duplicators and still call it a win” match.

Oh hey, welcome to last year, when Pirate Raid came out.

If full purple ships fitted to tank bios can’t kill it, idk what will. I’m not disagreeing with what you said, mind you.

Same thing in BC raids in WoW. You had to have specific items to counter raid boss dps (you know, good old Shadow/Fire/Frost resist chest pieces). You had specific gear for specific uses.

If that happens here, but you still can’t beat it, what’s left?

have you MMO ever?

Because PuGs are SSOOOOOOOOOOO fun… I have only good memories from WoW PuGs…

40 Man Naxxrama or gtfo (“vanilla” days)

Godamn, I can’t even imagine the utter chaos back then. I’m almost glad that I only joined the game when the Keep came out.

That seems backwards as xxxx.  So, WHY would ANYONE take a T1 ship when they have a T2?  More fun?  Yeah, right…since they have practically no modules to speak of.  Why not just give ALL T1 pilots the opportunity to play invasion instead of limiting it to T2+.  I’m positive it is costing us new players who are frustrated with PvP bot games and not being able to explore this “dynamic” SC universe.

I believe Nax was the toughest raid in WoW’s history, but i would not call it most fun one. I liked 10 man raids the most, because everyone had a place and role, where in 40 man you had group of people with same role amplified by average gear of the group.

40-man, you mean. 10-man Naxx was just bashing on 2 keys and call it done.

Here you go

You probably need a load of faster ships like gunships and fed engi so you can kill the Matter Inverters quickly. Dodging the Defiler isn’t too difficult if you have flares, missile shield or a faster ship with inertial stabilisers.

I mean dungeons of appropriate level back in vanilla. Like 20 man Zulg or 10 BlakrockSpire

40 man raids were not as fun for individuals, at least for me. Obviously they were much harder and requires tremendous coordination form the whole thing (well most of them) but looking at what each player individually had to do, it was not as fun.

Anyway, it’s about lame tactics that makes the game less fun and more spam oriented instead of “shooting abilities”. That’s all.

Devs buffed it, devs gets the critics.

And no, i’m not a “one role player” that whine versus other “one role players”.
