Star Conflict v.1.0.6 Discussion

have you MMO ever?

Methods employed by MMOs with hundreds of thousands, if not millions of players will NOT work in Star Conflict.

This reminds me a lot of Puzzle Pirates, where one person trying to do a Frigate mission (requiring 70+ players) would basically drain the entire server of good players for several hours, and still have to fill the rest with people who were average at best.

If this was content aimed at 4-man squads, I would wholeheartedly agree with the idea of requiring the absolute best. But I honestly do not believe we have the numbers to support the extreme difficulty of this mode. The logistics of getting people together and playing it are too high, so the only other option is to bring the difficulty down.

Here are people complaining about new Raid:

Go leave the match then. it just proves that people can’t adapt and are stuck using old tactics.

I never left a match ever. Period

Yes, if by ‘nothing’ you mean the following:

Frigball.

Inty-gunship-engi-guard formation.

Keeping out of range of the inverter (you can’t).

Keeping out of sight of the inverter (does nothing).

Focus firing the inverter with the entire wing (doesn’t work - ship and bios run rampant in the meantime).

Ignoring the inverter (instant fail).

So the actual response is YOU tried nothing, and think you’re so smart because you assume everyone is as half-arsed as you are, whereas WE threw ourselves into the grinder and concluded there’s no way to get through it alive.

Well, since somebody already finished it, it looks like there is a way…

stay away from interceptors and guards and u will be fine. the map is huge, interceptors are too close quarters and guards are too slow

Wait until they buff the Aliens missiles and you will need AMS xD

I mean dungeons of appropriate level back in vanilla. Like 20 man Zulg or 10 BlakrockSpire

40 man raids were not as fun for individuals, at least for me. Obviously they were much harder and requires tremendous coordination form the whole thing (well most of them) but looking at what each player individually had to do, it was not as fun.

Never done those back then, truth be told. Just Black Temple… Barely, before it went on to Sunwell and I was out of the raids for the rest of the expansion. And in LK, I mostly did PvP. Did have a Frost DK as tank… god, that was just awesome. AoE & single-target, only Warriors would go past me in threat. Just auto-attacking was ridiculous, in PuGs, I had to STOP attacking to get rid of the threat… Then they removed it for Blood… ;_;

What? Making a useful module MORE useful?.. What heresy is this!?

Anyway, it’s about lame tactics that makes the game less fun and more spam oriented instead of “shooting abilities”. That’s all.

Devs buffed it, devs gets the critics.

Exactly. Players can choose to fly whatever ship build they wish, some ship builds provide boring gameplay for everyone else. I personally don’t see how running around at 700 m/s dropping drones everywhere you go is fun. I do enjoy running at 700 m/s in my tackler, but I use gravibeamers and slows and focus on taking down inties.

The drones did not need a buff. The drones could hit an interceptor fairly easily at close range. Even the regular sentry drone could hit an inty that is strafing and rolling from 1500 meters fairly easily.

Omg, how much rant about drones. They are very easy to shoot down(hello! they dont move!) and their owner is very fragile. You complain about no-skill play. Delete all modules, delete all classes and leave team of the same ships with only railguns on and you will have “skill”.

The owner may be fragile, but when he is running around at 700 m/s and able to cloak, he is pretty hard to catch. And the drones are hard to take down in an inty (which are the only ships significantly effected by the drones, and are the only ships who tend to try to take them out). The drones have much better range than most intys, and for an inty to get close enough to kill them, they will most likely get hit a few times, which will either destroy them, or severely cripple them. I don’t see nearly as many frig/fighter pilots targeting the drones, as they are a small threat to them, compared to interceptor pilots who target them as they are a huge threat due to the high damage they deal when they hit you.

i dropped a guard drone a few days ago and it did 8k dmg 1 hit to a guard. i lol’d

a) You don’t have to kill them, understand where he has to go and be there, they are quite useless running around.

b) Taking out drones in an interceptor is easy, dodging is something you should be using while piloting one, Especially of those “running” tacklers that use no slows, and even if you get hit once, it hardly tickles if you build your inty properly. Drones shoot once in 3 seconds - you dodged one it is 6 seconds of useless stuff.

I shot 3 bubbles at the guard on my gunship (while that drone shoots once), dealing 8k dmg each, Guard did not lol.

Bubble is that effective? I mean i havent used one but killing a tackler that all you have mentioned above or an inty must be pretty hard with that gun.

8k damage from singularity…lol at guard not using phase shield

Bubble till they buffed ranged lazors was deadly. But they are still the best 1vs1 (especially vs inti) weapon imho.

your method requires aiming. you can’t do that running 700 m/s in the opposite direction

If you can turn and hit them (high ping wobble sucks here) then you get to deal the full damage from whichever guns fired. If you have good aim then interceptors will take a nice load of damage. I’m not good enough with it and have high ping, so lasers seems to work better for me.

Why would i run away in opposite direction?

i am referring to the tackler 700 m/s drone build
