I love how the Spectre Field is ignored since its introduction.
It’s rather hard to use in normal PVP matches because everyone is running around shooting so they decloak straight away.
In a squad it takes a lot of timing, and to be quite honest, there are better modules to put on a guard. More health regen modules, mass propulsion to take care of adaptive inties/TRex Mk2 or the damage reducer one.
Yay for guard drone buff! Please note: I don’t use the cruise engines and poop drones everywhere. I simply use the small drone and slows. Also, just kill the tackler poopers using a recon and slowing tackler combo, or a guard with MPI if they are stupid enough to get that close (some of them are). Empire LRFs can hit them pretty well with disintegrator too since they can’t turn well with cruise engine.
I really want to see the new pve. Blueprints also have a chance from dropping the purple spots, so I’m definitely down for that and could use a good pve challenge.
Plasma arc change seems fine, you are already having to get close anyways. I never use plasma arc anyways, I prefer kiting at range as much as possible.
You have a sec con tactic? I’ve never even seen you guys in sec con.
And is that tactic pooping out drones on enemy beacons with a useless 700 m/s tackler? If so then go away and lie in a hole in the ground for a couple of days until you realise how bad this is. (if it is some other immensely complex and strategically subtle tactic then please excuse me)
It’s complex. Anyways my Corp doesn’t have tacklers in higher tiers for SecCon but it worked against OWL in domination and almost against ESB until they pulled their sh!t together. We tried it with only 2 tacklers in higher tiers and it worked magic.

This is a GOOD tackler build.
Thanks to the range increase and the projectile speed increase, now guard drones can be really defence turrets in cover firefights. Since they don’t lose efficiency with optimal range.

The Spectre field does give a little bit of shield regen. If used on a large enough group, it should act like a large shield booster. Use it + emergency shield to tank like a boss and cloak your friends.

Very much so! I always try to place mine next to my engie to discourage any sneaky cov ops!
why did you buff tackler drones… i spend half my t4 matches killing tackler drones and not doing the objective, now they are even more dangerous and over powered in comparison to the fact that it requires no aim / drop and forget about them / 32 seconds recharge at mk4

really???
Tackler drones only have 2.5k range and are much more inaccurate the further out you go. If its a beacon game, kill the drones on the beacons while capping/planting. If its a team battle, kill the tackler and his drones poof. If it’s capture the beacons kill the tackler’s teammates leaving the tackler by himself to die. The drones shouldn’t prevent you from doing the objectives unless you go out of your way to kill the drones. The guard drones on the beacons target the tackler’s drones now too, so the tackler’s drones can’t just sit there and pop off all your guard drones anymore. The angular rotation of the Guard drones usually prevents the heavy one from hitting the drones unless it is placed very close.
These drones are needed to help stop Intyballs and frigballs. People are just misusing them on their stupid cruise engine drone poopers.

when 1/4 to 1/2 the enemy team use them all dotted around a beacon, good luck capping that. I played a match yesterday where 4 out of 7 players (not including the bot) had 2 drones on their tacklers, 3 of them had 700 m/s, it was a very boring game. have u played tier 4 recently?? i hopped into some t5 games it was the same sh_t

What someone can play in a different way, will play in a different way if he can earn advantage from it. That’s what happened with missile pylons before.
ECMs were a big problem before, now tacklers joined to it.
So adaptive fits will start disappear because there’s no proton wall what can ignore that amount of stun ships.
Cruise engine tacklers will come with spamming drones.
I just go with a tackler with actual slows and watch them panic as they can’t run at 700 anymore.
Did you meet with Oregyen and his speed-wolf? I don’t think so. 700 is the maximum speed but if you make it faster than it’s possible then it can ignore tacklers because it only takes the speed down what you cannot use anyway because of the 700m/s barrier.
Tackler guard drone modules have been useless for a long time. Now they are useful. Of course some people will use them in the wrong way, but now they are an option, and a tactical improvement for games.
Same with cruise engines.
If you are annoyed about 700 m/s tacklers, just fit a tackler yourself, use the engine inhibitor, and ROFL while you kill all of them.

I did. He was useless most of the time, even if he was in a wpk squad. A standard build Wolf is much more powerful.
It is like the 700 m/s sai. It is viable, and for detonation games it is hilarious. But seriously…

Oh hey. ONLY 2.5km range! WOW! That’s what? Twice the effective fighting range of a Recon? FOUR times the effective dps range of a CovOps?.. One buff killed 2 ship roles.

A good tackler slows you down, not pooping drones everywhere. The only change they made to tacklers was to help drones aim only slightly better, not giving the tacklers uber slowing capabilities. Adaptives should not be the only form of tanking on EVERY ship, that would make other modules useless, and besides, there are plenty of ways to avoid getting slowed down with implants and modules.

I’ve been doing Sec con and a little t5 pvp and have run across these guys plenty. They are not hard to deal with, just annoying. As long as your team is semi competent, you can clear the drones very fast and resume capture. Try bringing a recon with a micro locator and a super slower tackler and you will put every last one of those guys in their grave. I know you are a DPS kind of pilot primarily, but you need to have combat utility too. Shoot, just bring a guard and torp the beacons, or have guard pulsars hit drones too like you suggested in that one forum post and problem solved.
Nobody said, Tackler Drones should be too easy to handle.
Have to try it, but it was already pretty strong as a module.
However, alex, they will die the same speed, all they increased was weapons. You’ll live.
anyone putting 2 drones on a cruise tackler does not understand the cruise module.
you need survival modules, or go back to invasion.
problem is, to tackle oregs speed wolf at the right time, since a gunship speed fit usually has 3 survivals + reboot; the inhibitor takes away the afterburner completely, so no, it’s not the speed, its using the survival module in sequence. luckily, the tackler has almost no cooldown on the inhibitor.
also ecms being the only answers to ecms is wrong.

You are basing that off your standard RF blaster/ Pulse laser “I’m going to be in your face” meta. Its not like you want to use your plasma arc on the drones and get right on top of them like you do any other ship, they will hit you. Play smart and kite around them
