Star Conflict v.1.0.5 Discussion

well yesterday, i was in a 4 squad, hoping to face some others; we had a game, where at first glance, the enemy 3squad seemed totally random, and the people in that whole team seemed totally random and relatively unknown. the only one on the other side who actually was known to me, however, left the game, since he thought this is a total loss.

turned out to be a very close match, with desperate but really forced gamestyle in the enemy team. Albeit they lost, I was impressed by their effort, and just one man could have easily turned that into a victory for them.

Too bad that guy left.

So no, first glance isn’t always true.

But once you decide to give up your team before the match starts, leave or take LRF to pass the time, instead of helping them to win, there is just no excuse, not even the MM.

Even with a fair MM, there will always be one sided games. No game in the world is different in this.

Therefore it is really hard to make any conclusions from subjective experience.

We now have taken the effort to organize a second 4squad lead by non-corp-members to get two equal teams into the field. So the whole MM is also a community issue; in this game, every game is a win, if you put effort in it.

I whish they would remove the lock on 2 corporation squads facing each other in pvp, it’s stupid.

well, normally i will fight to the last second. even my team is hopless, but i still will try to use the"Mauler" or “Patriarch", thanks for the “minelayer” and “Torpedo”, through i be killed immediately, i still can got one or two go with me…and maybe that why i got lots “FROM THE GRAVE”…but you can’t make everyone to do like that…

maybe it’s time to try to squad up to fight…but i really hate that, because after every hard fight battle…i will like to have reset to do some other things…but i can’t let my teamate just wait for me…

apart from the first 2 games it looks pretty balanced

I was unaware that an average point gain of 300 to 1k was “balanced”. Or 0 to 900 average… Wow. Dat balance.

My LRF rant is not about LRF being completely useless or something which you shouldnt take.

It’s however a hard ship, if you start with it, to learn the gameplay, because you will feel constantly overpowered against less skilled players / players with heavy ping, and underpowered against players who see the LRF as an annoyance, rather than a threat, if it’s not in the hand of triple-15 veteran, who could kill you with every other ship anyway, and actually his whole team carries him on purpose.

It’s also a ship which gives you a false impression by being low risk high reward if actually your team is somewhat balanced.

So I would say, taking two LRFs as a soloer is not a good choice. Heaving some Engineer duty on your sleeves before you take other frigates into play is generally a good advice for any solo player. Taking an Engi into the fight next to the LRF leaves you with 2 slots free to choose; Having a tackler, ecm, recon, command with you can be a good idea too, depending which ship is best in your hands, since they are all somewhat supporty or carry weight in some gamemodes;

I don’t really say this directly and only to you, since I saw you got many of these ships in those fights. It is just generally a problem of non-squadding players, that they think, solo is an excuse not to prepare for the team and the battles ahead. Actually, if someone prefers to fly only certain classes, squadding up is a very good idea, with others who can fly other classes - while soloing is still something, which requires to become a Jack of all trades, or the win/loss ratio will stay under 1.0, from my experience.

I do understand what people are complaining about, but sometimes it isn’t clear, if we complain about skill differences which cannot be bridged, the item and ship experience differences, or the sheer mass of people who are way too far up in the tiers for their understanding of what is actually happening, magicly appearing in higher tier fights without a clue how to turn on healing on an engi.

We all started small, some have more background into this gametype, others might need to find their niche which they are good at, but all in all, as a community, it is our part of the game to explore the gameplay, not sit back and say “I just want a game which never teaches me anything, and I can play how I like and all games are 50:50, MM be magic!”. No game really offers that; and if it does, it becomes boring really fast.

If you get what I mean.

To see if the new MM really works better, we need to wait some time anyway.

I have still no clue, how the new SR will do in MM.

I really like the decision to keep all blueprints visible. For the Alien Monocrystal BP I just hope it won’t be “extremely over-rare”, since I think, with the current model, each higher tier player should have the chance to acquire it, or it gets massively OP.

just look at the players / corps on both sides. there are some good enough players there to balance it out, scorp, esb, ex nova, nasa, r4ge, come on

well i like this kind of battle. for example this one…

we fight hard…and dead hard…but at least we get chance to fight, even our marks is lower than them all the time… but no one give up to try…so through we lost this time…but it’s still a good fight…

You were also a sniper the entire time. In a small beacon cap game. Doesn’t matter how well you snipe if you don’t hold the captures.

me???nonono…the 6 kill only one is by disintegrator and no more than three shot in that battle… I use it not as a sniper but a fire point…and the other team get lots of interceptor…so the only way i can do to stop them is the minelayer…and coil mortar is a good choice for engineering and their drones…

normally i just move with the line, but it’s true that some of the players will snipe all the time…

Have you tried to bring recons in those cases? They can make magic, believe me…

As u see nobody bring an Engineer from your team. U should bring the engi for them if u like to win. And I just can repeat Genelnari, u bring in a sniper into a beacon game. No matter how well u are with that, u are too slow and doesn’t help too much for the team. Try a reacon, covops or engineer next time, they can make magic.

you’re obviously not as skilled as Spamus with an lrf…

I won’t choose recons, because i hate the boring circling game…and if i take a engineer…you see how many interceptors they get…and because of the beacon…i have to fly beside the beacon not stay behind…so…as the only engineer, there will be a show like…“guess how many ways i can die”…face to one interceptors depends on his skill cooldown…i may win…but two on same time and close enough…no chance at all

We are coming back on the problem.

Interceptors.

What problem?

-clueless frigates-

fixed that for you.

“one role player foreva” That’s the real problem.

What can i say dear, after i read this… there is nothing strange why you keep losing and only “omgidontwannadie” mood is nothing good for your team (yes your team in this case)

In any time of the battle you have to decide what you can bring to your team if you want to win (that is not MM issue) but if you “i hate to fly that and that and i don’t want to be sucks in that and that” there can’t happened anything good.

That’s cute.

This is what I wanted to answer.
