How come tackler drones weren’t nerfed in the patch?

There’s no planned to nerf tackler drones now.

 

Well again it looks like another roller coaster and now heading on the downward slope of all these changes\nerfs on the pulse lazer and now Horizon module ? 

Which begs the question… as this game is supposely out of Beta… why are still changes to weapons and modules that have been around over 1.5 years ?

We’re trying to enhance the game constantly, Everrdylost. The balance is needed and we’re still monitoring the effectiveness of weapons etc.

This is my first post. Only since a short time I feel I know enough about the game, to contribute in a constructive way. I like, that you make changes. Some changes I cant evaluate, so I dont say anything. While reading this I made up my mind, but Semaphorism was first:

 

 

I used the flat reflector plus horizon module to create a high range beam weapon platform. Not its because it might be OP, but because its a viable combination in term of strategic position within the game. Guarding a big area is an important strategic aspect. If the developers come to the conclusion, that the last state might be OP, it might be true, but it might be more important to do damage on long range and less important how much damage you do. Therefor flat damage reduction might be imbalanced too or plain wrong. Instead I would suggest a refined game mechanic, in inceasing the damage reduction over range, but keeping the damage on short range. This will help balancing the game and keeping the variaty of weapon usage (which some forum users already mentioned).

If players would get proper free camera mode for example in custom battle mode, then they could make fan videos and promote the game for free.

And maybe it would also help if the community projects would go to the website. Just sayin’.

That is really sad.

Seems your have tester problems then. Listen to the testers who has nice aiming skills not the ones who just trying to buff their own favourite class(es), or not playing at all.

 

The tackers should be able to kill the ceptors, after slowed it down, and catched it. But not with an aimbot drone from the other side of the map.

T5 is not fun because of the tackers and the ECMs and R13 implant.

The game is leaking in T5 you are losing players after they reach the endgame, because the endgame is broken in T5, and not fun at all.

 

The tournaments makes the T3 famous and I’m extremely happy with that. That was the best thing what you make in the last 6month. Really I just love it. 

The T3 queue time is good now (even if the T3 top queue for 4 squads are still seems broken so we can’t use the styx as engi)

Unfortunately you can rename the game to frigate conflict soon. 

 

 

I see this was a tendency and I’m trying to adopt, I get my blood tormentor with coil, I play a boring brick in the front and I’m first game after game. I don’t have to aim, I can kill ceptors with pulsar and big ships with coil.

If I wouldn’t be good in interceptor, I would love this because I can be effective without skills… nvm…

 

Most of the game is Whale fight now in T3. I also don’t understand why the coil mortal doesn’t make friendly damage in SQ. That is one of the most powerful weapon in the game, and I can spam on the beacon when my teammate and my enemy fight for it, and it is only damage the enemy, but If I do the same with the heavy blaster, I damage both of them? This is why I use coil only in SQ for frigates.

Overall the game balance is worst then in was during the Intercorp tournament (before the missile spam). I think the weapons needs the balance so the patch was not bad, but the real problems are still needs a solutions. (ECM, Drone, R13 implants)

It gives you back in no time your active modules (and eb if they didn’t changed it in the last few patch), if you are in a “killing team” this mean that the opponents can’t easily try to revert the game trend and keeps dying.

 

Edit: also having back your modules so fast gives you constant offensive bonus, while “defensive bonus” doesn’t have such time bonus, but it’s all related in the end.

I said “proper”, not “barely enough”. You can’t even disable the visibility of your ship model, it’s always in the sight.

hey again. here are some ideres for pvp battels cus lets face it… capture the flag is so 90ies and they dont do that any more… so why not make more realistic missons, like escort the commander from side of the map to the other  or massive battel going on betven the broad sides of dreadnoughts were u need to kill turrets and reactors and fly back to your dreadN to rearm missiles. please do somthing, capture the beacon hunts are getting so very boring u need to spice it up. team battel, protect the captain are awesome gamemodes if i could id play only those so please give me that option to. then there that sercret map were u have only one use of the ship u have equipd thats nice. i like the new cool maps just boring doing beacon capture again and again again again…lets fly in to the death star and blow it up from the inside, and leave dem beacons in the lostness of space

I really don’t like T3!

I want to play T4 and especially T5, but I can’t, since I must trim my beard first, while waiting to get a match with more than 3 people!

 

I fully agree with Koromac here. Well, maybe not about the beard-thing… still, the point is that you too often end up in a 3v3 match in t4/t5 nowadays… don’t like it  :013j:  'Tis a shame, I really like them t4 and t5 ships… I miss big teams :004j:

I don’t agree. This is like football, ice hockey, soccer. 2 teams fighting against each other. They always do the same, and somehow it is still not boring. Don’t break the game with extras like incoming aliens, or PvE style gamemodes.

What you say would be good to spice the PVE missions maybe, but not for PVP.

If you want to address more players, I’d guess you’d first have to address retention to make advertising worthwhile. Or address the issues that prevent T3 players that could play T5 from doing so.

When you break down the numbers, there are probably 15k “active” players in this game (this is most likely an over-estimate), and out of the 1.3 million players who have tried this game, 1.15% of them have stayed to continue playing.

 

To put this into the scope of other F2P games, especially ones that are extremely succesful (like Dota 2, TF2, CS:GO, etc.), this value is extremely low. Games like Dota 2 and TF2 have player retention rates of 5% or more. Not to mention they have tens or hundreds of millions of people who have tried the game.

 

So 1.3 million total players may seem like a lot, but in the scope of the F2P world it is very low, as is the 1% retention rate. This is a shame too, because this game is extremely fun, and there are many players out there in the world (especially in the US) who would enjoy this type of game. More advertising needs to be done, but improvements also need to be made relating to player retention. Many people have quit this game because of decisions that ended up being made, despite all of the negative feedback. (Biomorphs being put into PvP again being one semi-recent example).

On top of that the game, alot of people can not handle this game, people just can not break that 2d mindset, even those that stayed in the game, look at their axis and how they move. Like flying interceptors with 200+ rotation is not really that hard on reaction times and mouse precision (obviously you get plenty of profit if you have these 2 mastered), but that is true if your body can handle it. Couple of my friends that are hard core fast FPS gamers, they cant even watch some of interceptors videos from this game.

So in-game retention is not only based on w/e game has to offer, plus those that do not simply like the space and stuff.

To put this into the scope of other F2P games, especially ones that are extremely succesful (like Dota 2, TF2, CS:GO, etc.)

CS GO is not Free to play.
