Star Conflict v.1.0.17 Discussion

Well, I don’t need to adapt really, I’m not having fun anymore. It is either frigball or go home.

I will come back when interceptors are fun again.

Try a long range high dps plasma gun CO build so you can shred frigs from afar.  I tested that in T3 and it was working fairly well.

He wasn’t saying it was too hard to use inties now, he’s saying it’s less fun. And for an inty pilot, sitting 3km out is boring, why do it?

pfftt, “adapt or die,” that’s such a lame way to rationalize dumb design decisions. When they make it so that 1 of three sub-classes can no longer use 1 out of 4 weapons available, that’s bad design. When they change 2 weapons and make 2 other weapons redundant, that’s bad design. When they make “fast” rockets load only two seconds faster then guided missiles, that’s bad design.

Fixed it for you

Or better yet

A little info from the other side:

I ran through the russian forum and there’s a storm about the gauss change, so devs will maybe change it back.

After a lot of testing i got to admit that i don’t like the new gauss at all! And I really hate the new plasma. I always been using plasma and even if the new one is fun and looks to be buffed I find it really sensitive to higher ping. The old one worked really better with bad connections… If u got bad connection and ping around 100 or 2-3% package loss (it seems to happen really often now) it’s quite difficult to handle the new plasma… So after all i prefer the old one for sure.

The ion nerf is also a little bit too much. I’m not sure it was so op but some ships like sparkle were op for sure with that weapon…

Everything else looks OK to me

I really enjoy the new plasma myself.

I haven’t tested the new Plasma yet, since I love my RFB, but I can say for sure that I don’t like the new Gauss Cannon.

Also, after that last game I can confirm Ions still hurt like hell. Got tore apart by a pair of Prom-X.

I also tried the new plasma, and I think it is horrible. I thought it will better then RF blaster for dogfight but after some try seems almost impossible to hit with it from close range. Imo the plasma was bad before they changed it I don’t care if they change it like this, I won’t use it anyway.

Against big ships and easy targets the Shrapnel is still far better.

The pulse laser is almost useless now, I’m very sad about that. the 3sec is not enough for make damage, I would like to try with 4sec overheat time. maybe that would be a good compromise.

The new plasma gun is basically a long-range RFB now, which sucks, cuz I love my RFB as well. I like the new charging mechanics of the gauss cannon, but not the RoF.

I still can’t get over the rationale of changing them “n00bs can’t use them…” Such a stupid reason to change something

If a guard is fitted correctly it is a frigball. personality.sarcasm(null);

Guards are not a real threat! Without EM missile torpedoes and with low maneuverability. they are like rhinos in a mud.

Rakza, your 94000 points of survivability on Inquisitor S will have no chance, even against the bots. I still prefer 75000 points.

I really don’t like T3!

I want to play T4 and especially T5, but I can’t, since I must trim my beard first, while waiting to get a match with more than 3 people!

90% time 5vs5, in squads you can get sometimes bigger matches. Also don’t forget sector conquest.

Only during the EU prime time! US, it’s usually a five minute wait for a 3v3. Which is why it’s a good idea to tier down in US prime time.

But yes.
