Star Conflict v.1.0.12 Discussion

After tinkering with he weapons a bit, they can be very useful if you take the time to learn them…

'cept the destructor. That one’s pretty straightforward.

Not one for long range fighters so will take you word for it…

This week we added another corporation logo pack:

Gates of Darkness [iGoDI]

About time…just saying…

Love all the new wapons !! It just takes Skills to use some on them … !!!

… Did you mean to post a different one?

There is one problem with Scatter gun… when Scatter gun hit me there is a high reduction of frame rate during the explosion…

someone has the same problem?

Yes i do have the same issue; i play between 45 and 55 fps normally. When i get shot by scatter gun i got an instant freeze for a little while…i havent check the fps impact, but i bet is over 20 fps reduction after the hit. I suggest reducing the visual explotion radious or simplifying the effect: too many missiles impacting at the same time cause a high performance loss.

EDIT: it looks amazing tho xD

Do the weapons are permanent ? Or just for the event ?

It might be like last year’s weapons where the weapons are widely available for the event. Taken down after, and reintroduced possibly as role-specific weapons.

This Update is the biggest load of crap since i started playing this game

“Christmas” Weapons RUIN the game at the moment… at the beginning it was fun having something new but now everyone flys it all the time in PvP

Little kids hiding in 10-15km distance and shooting with the Phaser  every little Interceptor is running around with this crapload of autoaim dealing up to over 8k true damage per shot to you and frigattes sit and defend beacons with aoe lasers from the distance

and of course no resistance matters to this weapons at least give them some kind of damage type because at the moment it is just incredibly unbalanced

i hope this gets removed soon because at the moment playing PvP is just a big joke to me and if this goes on like this im gone from this game for sure

You do realize the True Damage tend to not work up close of have any actual killing power on their own?

I’ve found that except for trollish Cov ops with Scatter, these weapons suck on their own, but are excellent support weapons.

Seriously, just not be out in the open like an idiot and even the annoying phaser can’t do anything.

It is quite a difference from true damage to the normal damage you would get if the weapons have a resistance

The Cov Ops are the most annoying its just to op Waki R gives you 8k hits easy 2 shots and your done with every ship below frigatte except for the Mjolnir

Phasers on long range are just annoying because of the extreme reach together with the incredible projectile speed its more then easy to hit something and its too bad but you cant say behind cover 100% of the game as soon as your out you get hit in the face and if you play it on close range you get a Singularity 2.0 in your face because every ship can make about 4k per hit easy because there are no resistances that would reduce the damage if you have this on your gunship for example you can go and make about 10k crits easy with 1 shot thats just to op

My opinion is either remove them as soon as the Christmas days are over or at least give them a proper damage type to balance them out because their effects are pretty strong already even without true damage

I wont play any Pvp as long this is out because whats going on in pvp right now is not fighting for me its just a big joke that needs 0 Skill

Hotfix 25 dec 2014

Fixed game server bugs

Any realize that the phaser is my idea? Or at least partially mine?

Heh, I was definitely thinking of that post when I was reading the description   Sounds like the devs like the concept of a 2-phase weapon enough to put it into the game; nice suggestion

The only suggestion I have is for the targeting reticle for the phaser to change according to mode. The game should recognize that you are going to use “Energy Ball” mode and change the targeting reticle accordingly. Right now the targeting reticle is only for the “Sniper” mode.

Do the weapons are permanent ? Or just for the event ?

This will be decided after the event.

I am not entirely sure about whether these weapons will be permenant, but currently they are not upgradable, meaning ships which have special modules which scale according to weapon upgrade level, are going to suffer as the game treats these new weapons as MK1 weapons. As a result, the ship classes affected, which are Covert Ops and Long Range Ships, will suffer because they have NO WAY, of obtaining higher special module damage because the weapons cannot be upgraded. I am not sure if this is intended, but currently, it is putting these 2 classes at a disadvantage.

In the point of long ranges you are right however at the moment all weapons are really strong for mk1 in my opinion they already have the power of mk4 weapons

but with the covert ops you must be joking covert ops are the most overpowered ships with the new weapons 1-3 shots with orion and every ship below frigattes is dead and since its auto aim you can nearly not miss them

before they should think about an upgrade option this weapons should be balanced first and given a proper damage type and maybe then you can go and think about keeping them in the game and fit them into the actual game weapons and their upgrade system
