Has no one pointed one how LOUD the Scatter Gun is when it hits shields?! It’s WORSE-THAN-COIL-LOUD.
I subscribe to BlueSea’s opinion on the weapons, also.
PS: You know the most recent poll, related to which of the new weapons you like? Well, it’s missing the option that says NONE!

Use the charged shot instead of using the SpamClick
i have experienced quite the opposite in the first games i played. maybe you just fitted it differently.
the phaser is immensely powerful, the quick shots do steady white damage, and you eat through defenses steadily. additionally, the secondary fire option, which supposed to be something like the ACME from ut i guess, could be used for some nice surprise aoe attacks, but actually, i personally never know how long to charge until the ball comes out, i just quick zap non stop. i made more kills than usual at least in all games i played, with my main ion command ship. its really an allround weapon.
I tested both with a lot of Heatskins and Superchargers with Supernova ammo. The damage output is really low. The good thing is the insane projectile speed, it’s very easy to hit people with them, and they have a lot of range, but again they just tickle. The “big” bubble’s damage is pretty neat but the mechanics of firing it are very very weird. The ball + normal shot combo is also pretty cool if you aim for a beacon or a rock trying to deal some AoE damage but it will need some training and getting used to it.
Again, I like the intentions behind those weapons but I think they’re pretty meh compared to the rest we have available.

I still think that the “kaboom bubble” mecanic of phaser is more dangerous for yourself then your enemies.
And the spam-click for rapid fire isn’t a good way of playing.

I have to say i really dont like the Update making special guns vor christmas ist really nice but i dont like it
the special weapons for the interceptors is really overpowered autoaim with a gun that ignores all your resistance ist just annoying and it its an absolute 0 Skill weapon on top of it i hope they get removed again very soon.
I think a nice Sale on every Ship from T1 to T5 would have been a much more fitting gift for christmas then special guns for a limited time

At long range, the charges have more time to adjust their trajectories and hit the enemy. Also, since you do true damage, and explosive damage, you will get consistent 10k criticals in frigates, no matter their tank. You need a lot of Electronic guidances for that, but it is quite fun. Also, quite a good surprise to a strafing plasma ceptor.
Phaser looks nice, but the constant clicking is not worth. I want to keep my mouse healthy while playing. Maybe you can introduce double firing buttons like the original shock rifle had in the Unreal Tournament game. That way we can bind a secondary fire mode to other button, or just make it that you can switch between fire modes with pressing a button.
The desintegrator is cool, with the merging beams and such, but it has two problems: The AoE damage is not that great, and the radiation cloud + heat effect in the enemy blinds them which is annoying.
Finally, the weapons are really good against predators, because predators had a LOT of resistences, but since all the new weapons do True damage, they are not longer applied.

You are very right there, I tested it with 1 electronic guidance+implant 2 and all charges hits target, and the true damage…
Scatter with supernova is… a pain? becouse when u pilot a guard or any slow ship u cant move to avoid the shots, so u get all the damage :S

Supercooling are better, since the main drawback the gun has is the heating time and the cooling cycle. With supercooling charges you have enough shots to kill a fighter or a LRF.
Fun thing is, this weapon is much more deadly in high tiers because everyone uses resistences, while in low tiers people usualy go for shield or hull strenght, which is better against this weapon.
i will post a video on the advantages and disadvantages of each weapon. some may not even be known to veteran players yet.

The destructor in invasion is pain unless you attack only frigs.
Those tiny interceptors always move randomly so it’s hard to maintain a constant damage.
Phaser is funy. Dangerous for yourself, but funy.
I tried a bit more the interceptor gun. Looks great in fact. I tried it on golden eagle with supernova ammo. I added range CPU and crit, and spread. You can use all your range to fight, and espace with strafe.
After tinkering with he weapons a bit,they can be very useful if you take the time to learn them…
