Star Conflict v.1.0.1 Discussion

Addicted to the gameplay, when it’s working I am indeed.  That’s why I’m here.

Here’s a recent review from a brand new player that I think clinches what I was saying:

Link here.

This guy, like me is willing to put out the dough for a good product.  This is no longer a good product if you are scaring away new, and potentially paying players with your aggressive marketing campaigns.

So both of you are comming from EvE online but xxxxx about the premium time not stopping while logged off and tier 1 being plaing and too simple?

Can I laugh now?

As many, many people said here before, the game really starts in tier 3 (rank 8 to be more precise) and all the games you play before are just training games.

Concerning the grind, you don’t really need the license if you want to stay in tier 3. The credit and synergy grind start being a bit hard from rank 10 in advance, more or less like you need premium in World of tanks since tier 7 in advance.

The game is not perfect, and sometimes the devs make terrible decisions or break the metagame, but so far, which game don’t do that?

I have more than 1000 hours played in the game, and I’m still having lots and lots of fun, either in Invasion, PvP and even PvE (since now is more challenging!)

And the best part is that this is not a second job like EvE.

I have to agree with all of this. This game isn’t EvE. You’re looking at two complete opposites. The only thing these two games have in common is space. One’s a shooter, the other’s a command. One’s free flight, the other… orbits… One is comprised of low-orbit flight, the other in deep space… They have nothing to compare to each other.

This game is biscuits. EvE is like Guyllian. Don’t get me wrong, this game’s progressing… But it’ll never be a Guyllian. A Milka, at most, if things improve greatly.

Yeah, EvE is like Guyllian. Only the rich can keep buying it all the time.

NO.

If EvE is like Guylian, than SC is like Sweet rolls.

You can’t compare Eve and SC.

The first one is more like a gestation game, where you must absolutely not die (Or bye bye your ship).

With Star conflict, it’s just pew pew. Way more action oriented, but with less game mechanics.

And don’t forget that SC is free. The license you can buy is just a 50% grind reduce while you have to pay to play EvE.

no it’s definitely oreos or jaffa cakes. you can’t stop eating them even if you actually stopped enjoying them. instead, you plan to buy a new box of them or think about ways to eat them layer by layer.

and even PvE (since now is more challenging!)

well, but pve should not be about losing or winning, it should be more about time investment. challenge should be risk/reward. now if the ai would adapt to your strength a bit, that would be the most ideal scenario.

just think about worlds collide. you could try to do it the hard and fast way, or the tactical and smart way.

PVE is way to hard now… its impossible to compleate in a interceptor, long rang and engi are needed now… spent 3 hours on my dali pve misson…thets to long… and it so plain to see why…buy more dublicators… im getting old fast i dont wanna spent my last days in impossible pve missons…please make it so we can buy the mk5 blueprints again… getting more old having to wait for a lucky drop in a game mode thats hopeless over buffed…

why xxxx us over so much?

u ruind a perfectly working pve for this elitist bull. were only the strongest ships and player grups have a chance… make raids that are harder for the corps. and pug pve solo players can do…

if u whant my gold ull have to make it cool… not ever giving gold for a dublicator… make a alternative skin for FX golden fork then you will se gold. make so i can change the couler og my ships engine glow, here more gold.

but this scamming low punching crap u got going on here… i wont pay ill just stop playing till u fix this crap…aah then my prenuim runs out…smart guys…and lame.

come on get to it! fix fix fix

Dunno which way is the hard or the fast ones. I didn’t want to invest in a machariel, so I could use either my cruise CNR or my HAM tengu. Anyway it was around 15 mins of semi AFK orbiting each gate.

PVE is way to hard now… [sTUFF]

Duplicators can be made with invasion materials, they are quite cheap.

And no, interceptors are not supposed to be the PvE ships. The fact that you could do well in an interceptor in PvE previously, is a reason the difficulty got tuned. Although I agree that maybe this time they just made it too difficult for the average PvE pug.

I can be elitist and say that it is a good thing, because it will promote people actually “playing smart”

But I know that most people don’t give a xxxx about that and just want easy cakes. So well, maybe dumb down a bit PvE and make it less profitable.

Sentry Dominix. Definitely the ship for you AFK’ers.

I used a regular Raven, Abaddon, Navy Geddon, Tempest, and a Paladin. The Tengu is absolutely boring for me, even in PvP. I got more kicks out of my 100MN Legion than any Tengu configuration I flew.

But the legion is so ugly…

Listen. When you have the ability to tank a Machariel, a Raven, 2 Tempests and an Armageddon, all OH on you, I don’t give a toss about how good a ship looks. It could look like a Mauler and I’d still fly it proudly.

Tanking that in a 100 MN tengu is also piece of cake. Also, I bet that all those ships were firing arties so high speed and low signature in both the tengu and the Legion is enough to tank them.

I remember chasing an officer fit 100 MN tengu across 2 systems in null, with Dramiel tacklers, cynabals, Vagabonds and two crows (one mine)

And he laughed at us, until we brought a rapier and an Arazu to stop him in his tracks. And two falcons to get him perma jammed. 3 Bn kill mail

All short ranged, station brawl. I’m pretty sure the Raven pilot docked and then undocked with a Blasterthron, but I was out of Cap Boosters, so I had to gtfo, lol

This was 2 years ago, only the Mach survived, iirc. They tried to bubble me, but… come on… not even Webs kept me still.

The Legions I usually flew for this cost me 2.5Bill, iirc. No officer mods, though.

Hum guys, Patch Discussion please.

Oh, sorry. We got a little carried away.

You are like FOX news, just making stuff up out of thin air to in order to illicit an inane emotional response.  I never compared Eve to SC, and neither did this guy.  Way to take things out of context. . . reading comprehension:  Get some up in you before making stupid comments.

The person I quoted, much like myself, was stating that they have no problem paying for a product if it’s legit.  He used his experience in Eve to illustrate that he is a loyal and paying customer and for no other reason.  But SC is an obvious money grab with little integrity towards it’s players…  had this game not been geared so highly at getting players to spend money he would have gladly invested.

Oh, and for the record, I’m working on my T4’s on my 2nd account.  So don’t preach to me about the game not really coming into it’s own until yada yada tier.

CLICK HERE  Read it again, slowly, real slowly, maybe even three times so you can fully comprehend what he is saying and the impact this game is having on new players.  Retaining new players is key to the survival of this game.  Put your emotional fan boy BS aside and think about that for a second.

All your points are invalid.  Go home.

In addition to the BS in my above post…

I still think that SC is one of my favorite games to date.  The PvP game play is insanely fun.  I’ve met some excellent people.

The SC team has a unique model in that they are trying to blend a variety of gaming environments: PvP, PvE, open world, and match play.  They are constantly trying to add new content and keep things interesting.  Yeah, the Bios in PvP was annoying, but I had to give them props for trying it.

A lot of folks are complaining about Invasion, but it’s still in it’s infancy and I’m excited to see how it develops. There is huge potential for it to grow.

My biggest issue with the game at this point has to do with server designation, and server stability, playability.

The second concern I have is that certain changes (Increased difficulty in PvE, price increases) in addition to newly added GS items (duplicator, crews) are riding the line between F2P and P2W.  I’m still on the fence regarding the latter.  We’ll have to wait and see how it affects PvP, especially sector conquest.

There also seems to be a thriving community here on the forums getting little response (other than a few random comments to placate us.) from the devs themselves. Which is unfortunate, but not unforgivable. However, in this situation that just feels like getting we’re getting sucker punched.  Language barrier?  Hire a few translators.

So, it’s not that I’m a hater and what to spit venom at you people.  It’s the opposite.  I  have fun playing this game, and there seem to be some glaring issues getting overlooked.

If something I’m doing starts to annoy me I’ll stop doing it, even if it is somewhat fun and addicting.  Because, as we all know–there’s more out there.

I have been playing this game since its infancy on and off on various accounts, and not once have I ever complained about how people who can spend cash on it, all seemed fair and square…until this new patch with its Duplicator and Crews “improvements”.

I can see great potential for the Crews but…WHY!!! would they make them achievable with GS?

Why not make them rentable like the weapon, defense, ect. boosters.

On the same note, you could put the duplicators in the same category.

}-maybe something along the lines of 300,000 credits for 3 battles and for 5,000GS 7 battles-{

I really enjoy this game, it has given me the opportunity to meet fantastic players some even life long.

If the Devs are reading this at all, please, please don’t let make the same mistake as the Allods Devs. did.

It seems to me that either the Dev team or their publishers have no confidence in the game whatsoever, and so are hell-bent on wringing cash out of it to justify its existence.

But the fact is I was willing to spend several hundred pounds on this game when it was in 0.7 / 0.8 Beta. Now, I refuse to invest any money in its whatsoever.

So what’s changed? Well, back then spending didn’t feel necessary. I spent money because I wanted Premium Ships and a Licence to speed through to the top of Tier 3 as quickly as possible. Note “wanted”. I didn’t feel I had to do it. I didn’t feel the only way to compete was to own a Desert Eagle, I just felt that faster progression, more credit income and a fancy looking gunship were worth spending money on.

But now? Now I feel like the Dev Team are pushing crap on me. They expect me to pay to respawn in PvE. They expect me to pay to progress through Tier 4. They expect me to pay for Monocrystals to get the Tier 6 ships. They expect me to pay for Mk III / Mk V gear. They expect me to pay for additional crew to keep a tactical advantage in Sector Conquest. This isn’t a game that’s offering me fun, but optional extras; this is a game nickel-and-diming me for core content that they advertised as being ‘free’.

All respect for the development team has long since died, because their actions prove they don’t respect us.

someone said LRFs are needed in pve now? hell no! these things die first, at least if they’re piloted by randoms (who mostly snipe -.-). engi, guard and command are great pve ships and i’d prefer to not see anything else in my pve matches

ELRFs with Curved Reflector HBs maybe. Hard to argue with 5k DPS
