Here’s hoping that old school T2 torpedo spam isn’t going to make a comeback. For those that weren’t here before the roles, T2 used to not have AMS module and average game consisted for abour 40-60% jericho frigates spamming torps from the spawn.
I still remember getting into T3 and wondering “why is it so quiet?” Then after a few games it hit me. My missile warning wasn’t screaming my ears off the entire game any more.
And considering that back then torps had friendly fire to limit their impact on the game and now they don’t - I fear we’re in for a phase in the game that will make us forget nuclear winter as something minor and inconsequential in comparison to what it coming…
But on the funny side - flares will now be mandatory for everyone including frigates.
I’ve played several F2P games and what you’re saying is generally the same thing vets say in all of them.
Devs can’t keep everyone happy. Their top priority will always be to attract new players who will spend money on the game.
Very true, but unfortunately they are making very few people happy. Generalisation here.
We have - as a community - wasted countless hours trying to convince the developers of ways they can improve their game. I wrote a 2700 word post on how to extract the most cash out of this game as possible whilst keeping P2W out of it and maintaining the ‘fun’ levels. It didn’t get so much of a ‘we’ll look into it, thanks.’
I’ve played a bunch of F2Ps as well. Airmech being the latest. Their most expensive pack, which is a whopping £13, gets you practically every damn thing in the game. This is a good deal. For £51 in this you get:
“Money Bag”. 25,000 gold standards!
“Platinum VIP”. Permanent 10% bonus to loyalty and ships synergy gain * — Become the leader!
Unique T2 Empire interceptor "Wasp"
Unique T2 Jericho frigate "Priest Bartle"
Unique T3 Jericho fighter "Dragonfly"
Unique T3 Federation fighter "Bear"
“Personal Storage”. Maximum size of your warehouse for modules and weaponry!
“Elite stickers.” Collection of 10 luxury stickers for your ships.

On the other hand, LRF are made out of glass now, before they had the full tanking ability of “guard” frigates without the elemental resist shield.

Doesn’t matter in any way though. Even if you die, you respawn fast, don’t have to generally fly anywhere on many maps and just sit and spam. Not to mention with 5-7 spammers in every game all sitting in one spot and with no friendly fire, good luck trying to kill even one of them without instamelting to torpedospam in your face.
Is there any chance you could make the dev road map public? We get a lot of posts saying “big changes coming soon” or “this isn’t ready yet”, or “it’s not feasable before x point in time”. Just give rough estimates.
Also, what about the singularity cannon effects as well as the decrease in game modes/maps in higher tiers?
It is public. And it has been so for quite some time now.

yeah they should torpedo not be able to explode after some (1-4?) seconds of beeing launched.
Nah, In t3 we are gonna see mass of command’s ships afking in the backline, stacking assist with the 4.5km range buff module and sniping with the gauss cannon.
And if you try to kill them, Press “F” and “Right Click” with Ions Warhead ;D

You’d have thought they may have implemented a different way to get rid of these missiles at the same time…
Like… I don’t know… Giving us the option to manually lock them and shoot them down?
Considering this game doesn’t have a huge fan base yet, the devs will probably listen and rollback/revise unpopular changes.
Im gueesing you have not read the 100+ page topic for the previous patch where virtually non of the feedback has been listened to, or even taken on board

The devs aren’t suicidal, so my money’s on them smartening up before the community bails out.
The most unhappy people will always be the ones who wanted one thing and spent money thinking the devs think the same, but got something very different to what they were expecting.
Once again, this is a Beta so nobody’s forcing you to spend a lot of time and money on it.
