The Jericho LRF could probably be fixed if you applied my suggestion from way back; the AMS acts like Flares to the missiles. In other words, the Torpedo can’t steer for a few seconds if it’s hit by the AMS.
not a bad idea.
If this was resolved, as many have suggested, then the “problem” of organised corps would be significantly less. If you changed the equipment so that Experimental only gave a +10% bonus over Mk I as opposed to a +40%, there would again be less of an issue.
We have been asking for these changes since 0.8.0 came out. What’s your excuse for not at least trying them for a patch and getting community feedback?
actually, experimental role-specific give about 75%, non-specific 33-50% same as passive 33-50%. and 15% DPS on top of that. leading to 50-100% difference in performance.
the problem here is it will never happen, for several reasons:
if you’re talking to mods, you’re wasting your breath
they are players in top corps who’ve played this for months and feel they’ve ‘earned’ these perks.
companies don’t like taking items away from established players. although taking the progression benefits of premiums away was ok, bcs that doesn’t affet long-time players who already have the tree unlocked.
devs/pubs these days have a cookie cutter template and schedule layed out for the next few months. they probably won’t deviate from it. especially when it comes to fundamental changes to the game’s payment model/mechanics. these things have already been planned well into the future.
Meh nothing about the Synergy cap.

Internal testers felt none of them were needed lol …

not good enough. bigger companies prove over and over again they are able to deviate
you could argue they have a bigger budget. you could also argue their budget got bigger because they actively protect their fanbase’s interests.

the only time i’ve seen them do it is when it hits their bottom line. and quite frankly, the general response is usually to raise prices or provide useless in-game knick-knacks - costumes and consumables - not fix something.
Now ships from Steal DLC are always present in the ship tree
I think something got misspelled there…
Besides that, alright changes

Looks 100% correct to me.

Thank you, corrected.

first and fastest correction ever made to a patch note ;p
And the squad size change killed ESB kill squads. Boom heashot. They’re so utterly toothless now, it’s almost comical. All the threats about “making more killsquads and owning entire tiers” ended up being an empty bluff as predicted.
Sadly medicine ended up being worse than the disease. The volume of people unhappy about not being able to make 4 man squads is huge.
Let’s be realistic, they got a taste of their own medicine. They only know how to fly with 4+ ships on their side, so they’re all butthurt at the fact they can’t have their OP ship squads. I’ve already found 2-4 highly effective squads with just 3 pilots. It’s not game-breaking, either. It actually feels balanced. I know I opposed it, at first, but this might actually dwindle corporation dominance in matches, especially in matches below 16 pilots.
We see that the situation is not pleasing our players and are working to improve it.
Lemme guess, back to 4-man squads?
haha yea i got 11 in like 2 or 3 battles… figured something must be wrong ;p
The medal seemed to be working for every ship you killed that wasn’t in your Tier. Ie, if you flew a T3 ship (say… R8), killing a Rank10 ship would grant you the medal. In contrast, flying the same R8 ship and killing R5-6 ships would ALSO grant you the medal.

Looks fine to me…

I believe for most of us it wasn’t about being the “OP 4-man squad” it was the ability to play with 3 friends instead of 2. And where you see OP Squad, I see a challenge.

I’m actually torn betwheen this squads change…
On the one hand in a team based game doesn’t sound brilliant reduce the (already low) number of people can join a team…
…on the other hand T5 is now lot more playable for everyone and fun to play.
I think only a different queque for teams could completly solve the iusse BUT… probably we haven’t enought player yet for this.
So donnow… really donnow… but be back to 4 men squads isn’t a solution
4 men squads wouldn’t be a problem if units, rank/tiers, and items/loot were balanced…
4 men squads wouldn’t be a problem if units, rank/tiers, and items/loot were balanced…
But they aren’t, and the devs don’t seem to be going in that direction currently…

Clueless player is clueless. An R10 mk1 killsquad would rape a squad of 4 betatrash level players in R15s with full mk3. It has nothing to do with class and/or gear balance and everything to do with gameplay skill and that new people entering new tiers were not having fun with being farmed up by squads of skilled people.
The issue was that 4 man squad enabled you to have “a little bit of everything” in a way that was sufficient to turn entire games around. 3 man squad doesn’t.
Squads are not about skill but about teamwork and coordination. Even if every player on both sides of the battle had exactly the same skill level, if one team is fully random while the other team has a squad that team with the squad is likely to win.
Even a 3-man squad is still a quarter or more of a team that’s typically on voice comms and coordinating their actions. That’s a significant advantage over the fully random team even with individual skill levels being even.

That’s my observation as well. The main problem with three man squads is on level where people just play together for fun rather than to gain a massive advantage in games that demoralized many entering new tiers so much.
Essentially 4 man squad was big enough to allow you to form a largely self-sufficient “team inside the team”, whereas 3 man squad does not allow for that.
I just think there would have been better ways to accomplish the same goal. In this case, it feels too much like collective punishment for something that only few of the total player base did.
And for the record, it already has reduced corp effect in combat a lot at T4/T5. We played 4v4 match three man with one random and one guy who was completely new to T4 today, and out of three engagements against full ESB kill squad and one random in a random match. We lost the first engagement because the new guy simply didn’t know he can’t solo push, won the second one once he figured it out and stayed with the rest of us focus firing enemy down in called order, and lost the last one because our new guy only had three ship slots and ran out of them first, making game into 3v4 in the end.
I’d say that 2:1 engagement result in single combat considering we won the only 4v4 fight and lost two 3v4s while having one newbie in squad vs experienced full T5 ESB corp squad at T4/T5 is a pretty good result, and shows just how much less powerful the kill squads have become.
It also shows just how little difference there is between T3 ships and T5 ships in terms of total power and how much power is brought to the table by outplaying the enemy even in underpowered ships piloted by pilots new to tier 4/5 and its mechanics.
I am finished with this game until I see a 1.0 product. And then I am only going to give it a try if the vet’s here like it.
I spent a good deal of $ and I am so disappointed in the way this game has progressed.
The Tier 1 match I tried to play yesterday was just too much for me to handle. After all this BS about changing the game for the newbs and to be in a Tier 1 match with Tier 2 players… INEXCUSABLE.
