I withhold any comments on this patch.
I personally agree that Frigates view is still to small and I will continue to talk to the devs about it, but please try to calm down and enjoy blowing up some ships.
Okay, I’ve been flying the Dwarf 2 for a few missions and I will say that I don’t really have a problem with the camera while flying it. I find my field of vision is good enough to let me track and engage targets of opportunity and keep an eye on the bigger picture.
However, I must reiterate that in the Frigates the field of vision is disgustingly narrow, with the bulk of the ship cutting off huge chunks of the screen. This renders them almost unplayable as it is impossible to counter enemy interceptors - you can’t even see them if they get below you!
now try play using expert mode, is totally impossible!

that is kind of a problem when frigs are the ONLY ships i fly and practically own…and i doubt im the only one that is solely a frigate pilot
After getting used to the new camera I’ve been doing just fine with it, even on Frigates. The camera is worse for some frigates compared to others though as some are much bigger models. Maybe it should be adjusted on a per model basis? I was able to navigate much much better on my Templar as opposed to my Alligator. Glad to see interceptors buffed and engies nerfed, great changes as we are seeing a bit more ship diversity. I still don’t get the rage about the new loot system. I like it much more than the endless junk i got before, drop rate definitely was increased even taking into account 90% breakage rate. Too many people go all nerd rage over stuff breaking which is a by product of carrot and stick mechanics from MMORPGs. I think the new loot system creates a good “mind over matter” exercise for MMORPG victims.
If you compare the camera position to other games it is almost equal. It’s just that before you could see enemies from every direction and now you need to stay more concentrated, because you cannot see every enemy on the first view.
Justifying it by saying other games are almost equal is ridiculous. Star Conflict stood out from others because it gave you such a good zoom option.
Star Conflict’s combat used to be so good because you could get a full view of the situation easily. Being unaware is not fun. Killing our camera zoom after a year is just… poor design.
Do the developers even play the patches? Do they play internally and see how much fun they are? Do they get any input as gamers? Do they ask themselves if what they’re going to implement makes the game more fun?
My problem is it seems like “features” are implemented, and nobody wants them. I come after every patch wishing to have the old one back. Patches should be exciting, boasting new features and things everyone likes. I’ve learned to DREAD patch day for SC.
I kinda feel the same way…kinda. Corp mates make up for it though, but when full corporations start losing players, then we have a SERIOUS issue…
I am fairly certain the no one likes the new looting system. I would rather only run into an experiment module every week in loot than see 3 a day and watch them break trying to extract them. At the very least, spending galactic standards on extraction should have a much higher than 30% chance of success.
As for the view changes, I don’t think they are insane or anything, but they will definitely take time to get used too. The only real problem is it is significantly reducing the number of people playing healing frigates, which is a problem for everyone. The fighter and interceptor view changes don’t bother me in the slightest though.
You know you have a camera problem when you get 2 battering rams in an hour when you rarely used to even get one a week or less.
My frigate just sideslammed 2 enemy ships I did not even know were there, and I suspect they did not see me either.
Star Bumper Cars.
And the new static warpgates have a flaw in which they can warp you into the side of the gate if you entered too close to the edge.
I’m probably the 1 person thats NOT affected by the camera issue. Why? Triple Monitors xxxxxxx!
Oh, and actually I never zoomed out on my interceptor as well, so I’m used to being close in. No wonder my effectiveness score DOUBLED, its like killing blind people with their hands tied behind their back!

I was ok with the loot system at first. played a few games, got a few items…
When I came back later, played for longer… I had roughly 4 experimental and 15-16 Military drops over various matches of which I only received credits as not a single one was able to be harvested.
Last match, I got 2 experimental and 3 military drops in the loot, not added to the list above… all of them were turned into credits.
I logged out at that time in utter disgust over having 25 loot drops in a row turn into credits.
Military T3 Stabilized Rails! OMG!!!
Nope. Credits.
Military T2 Horizon module! OMG!!!
Nope. Credits.
I figured that the repair costs were increased due to the fact that we get more credit-loot through broken rares/epics.
Thats not fair, since we all can have a bad streak of losses if we play pugs, which means absolutely no loot for you but highend rep. costs.
Also you took away the insurances. I´m exited what comes next: How can you possibly get this…game…more…grindy?
Oh, and the MM for T4 seems to be broken, too: I dont want to get thrown together with a few rank 10 guys vs. a full rank 12 squad.
PPL tend to DC then and its an inst-loose. I preferred that 1v1s with 2 Bots, which was less a roflstomp.

You forgot they also took away the Warranty system. No more free repairs every 72 hours…

Thats what i meant, couldnt remember the name, but was nice to know that I dont have to pay that 150k repair-bill

Same here. I could fly my T3 ships into the ground, then fully repair them with a Warranty marker.
Now the prices are jacked up even further and the Warranty is gone.
Did I mention I’m dying a lot more due to crappy camera angles and nuke spam?
Oh, and that I can no longer farm for modules in PvE to bring my ship up to par due to new loot system?
I already submitted a bug report about the PvE loot issue. I was told this wasn’t what was intended with PvE loot no longer being guaranteed. Let’s see how long it takes them to fix it…I’m betting 3 weeks >.<
I’m neutral on loot issue. It has good and bad sides to it. Not sure which ones outweigh which. So please don’t say that “everyone is against it”. Not even close.
I like the new camera because it actually balances frigates. They’re tough and take a while to kill, but they actually have visibility issues now and can’t just pop you if you come from behind like they could before. That actually made interceptors and fighters playable in this patch (alongside the interceptor buff).
Developer Error explain to me what is the purpose of the new system simply spoils to spoil the joy of the player? Today I met lots 10 military and 4 experimental and 4 that this experimental everyone I break even by paying gold extraction, min for this new system is totally a waste of time even worse than PvE server to gain some military items are all naturally thinking which is the purpose of this … Wanted to know the camera is now a problem for the frigates being that it occupies half the screen the only thing good in this update was the improvement in speed and inteceptors modules combat frigate and is now doing their part to assist the team which is in line brings supporting or fighting from a safe distance that only two things were coming along the rest is Pecimo
Whee. Found another ninja change. My phase remodulator hugely nerfs my energy regeneration while active. I guess recons needed a nerf.
