There is an option in the menu for it.

Settings > Game > (scroll to the very bottom) > Default tooltip display (defaults to “brief”, set to “full”).

So there’s been an update and… nothing at all has changed.

  1. Camera is still terrible on Frigates. I cannot see any difference between pre and post maintenance cameras.

  2. We still can’t move equipment from one ship to another, or off a ship and into storage. As such, equipment is now permanently “locked” to a ship unless you buy another piece of kit to replace it. Whose idea was that? Is this another way to make us waste money on stuff we don’t want or need?

What are the devs thinking?

2)You are able to unequip an item from one ship and to equip it to another ship. The only thing that currently does not work is transfering one item from one ship to another ship directly.

Indirectly it is fully working.

Yes, I eventually found out how by randomly dragging items about the screen. Why do you never explain anywhere that can be done? The old menus never had drag and drop functionality; you clicked on what you wanted to equip and it equipped. A right-click-uninstall might have been more intuitive, or a Warehouse based “remove from ship” option.

Given the fact I’ve played for months and only just found how to do that by accident says you guys aren’t giving enough information in your interface.

Not only frigates, inty is sufering because this too, you have to slowdown hard your ship to get a goot view to shot, and this make your ship vulnerable. Is just impossible to keep the high speed awhile pursuiting your target! Put the old zoom back !

The camera mode and the looting have been forwarded to the devs.

The maps are rotating for each Tier so this week you get one set of maps for T2 and next week another set of maps.

The Detonation mode was only turned of for some time in order to prevent exploiting, but now it’s on again.

We have thought about the idea to be able to choose the game mode, but currently it would increase the waiting times too much so it won’t happen in the near future.

Personally I’ve found I can manage with my Fighter so far, and I’ve only just started flying Interceptors again after a month of not using them so I didn’t want to pass comment on them until I was sure the problem was the camera and not my own lack of familiarity / skill.

**Fading to Black (****Mac Bug)  **— Unhappy about how it’s still not been fixed

This has been unsolved for too long. I’ve had enough ramming my ships into obstacles I cannot see because my screen keeps going completely dark every now and then.

the fade to black  (black flashbang) is due to the anti-missile ability of guard frigates and ive mentioned it in one of the bug threads and they are aware of it and i mentioned specifically what was causing it so they should be able to isolate it down alot more and hopefully get it fixed.

the whole camera change and that graphics glitch both are a pain on their own…but together just make the game unplayable so till its fixed…ive had to shelve the game which kinda sucks since that means im also going to miss out on the premium stuff they are giving for fre this weekend.  atleast they have addressed that they are looking into both so hopefully a fix wont be too far

is it really so hard, after so many complaints to just roll back the camera change and be done with it?

Tell the devs to stop xxxx up the game and they will have enough people

I play interceptor since the close beta, and this new camera is unbereable! in ceptors you need be mobily to dont die, and slow down a little to focus fire. But the camera is too focused on you and this make impossible to chase.

If you compare the camera position to other games it is almost equal. It’s just that before you could see enemies from every direction and now you need to stay more concentrated, because you cannot see every enemy on the first view.

While you are at it pass this on to the devs:

1) Post your plans ahead of time.

Tell us what you plan to do next week. Tell us what you plan to do next month. You can put provisos in about how “this is only a guideline, not a promise” or “this may be subject to change,” but tell us things! If you had announced these plans a fortnight ago you would have had two weeks worth of people telling you not to do it, and a happier community when you announced you weren’t going to as a result of the overwhelmingly negative response the proposal got.

2) Learn to admit failure.

The one thing people hate more than anything from developers is their “we are always right” mentality. The best companies out there are the ones that admit failure. They are the ones that say “this is what we wanted to do, but the player base responded badly to the update and so we have chosen to undo it.”  Maybe you don’t realise is, but that actually creates respect for you as a company when you man up and say “we were wrong.”

Thing is, this isn’t an automatic thing. Admitting you were wrong within a few weeks is a good thing. Admitting you were wrong after a few months? That feels more like damage control. Pulling an EA and admitting you were wrong years later? You just earn even more spite for not being smart enough to spot your mistakes earlier.

It doesn’t matter why the mistake was made, but admit to it. Take the camera issue - if it was an unexpected problem, say so and give an ETA on how long you think it will take to fix. If it was a design choice, admit it was a poor one and undo it. Hiding behind the “it’s a Beta” excuse won’t win you sympathy unless it’s clear that your testers have an impact.

It’s just that before you could see enemies from every direction and now you need to stay more concentrated, because you cannot see every enemy on the first view.

And why is it that we can’t have nice things? Please do tell.

If you compare the camera position to other games it is almost equal. It’s just that before you could see enemies from every direction and now you need to stay more concentrated, because you cannot see every enemy on the first view.

Error, this answer could be interpreted as “we want to be more like our more successful rivals, so why don’t play those instead?”. Just so you know.

Being able to see every enemy kind of matters in this game, primarily because it is a team game. Narrow FoV works on CoD because everyone is playing solo deathmatch but can only attack half the players. This is a team game with class-based combat where you can do more for your team by idling behind the right asteroid than you can earning a high K/D ratio off in the corner of the map.

The more a player can see the more they can follow the big picture. The more they follow the big picture the more they can act as part of a team. The more they act as part of a team, the better the experience is for everyone.

If you compare the camera position to other games it is almost equal. It’s just that before you could see enemies from every direction and now you need to stay more concentrated, because you cannot see every enemy on the first view.

And this is a good thing? thay want make this game generic like any other? I dont speak about see the enemy in every direction, i speaking about SEE THE ENEMY! And interceptor need Move fast awhile shooting, not be “concentred” in slow motion to be easy target. GIVE THE OLD CAMERA BACK ALREAD!

Okay, I’ve been flying the Dwarf 2 for a few missions and I will say that I don’t really have a problem with the camera while flying it. I find my field of vision is good enough to let me track and engage targets of opportunity and keep an eye on the bigger picture.

However, I must reiterate that in the Frigates the field of vision is disgustingly narrow, with the bulk of the ship cutting off huge chunks of the screen. This renders them almost unplayable as it is impossible to counter enemy interceptors - you can’t even see them if they get below you!

And why is it that we can’t have nice things? Please do tell.
