My sentiments exactly. People tend to blow things out of proportion. I’ve seen some of your other posts frogswarm, and you’re making a good effort to be a positive influence. Suggesting to lock this thread was an unpopular suggestion and it came with a slight air of arrogance. But hey, I’m not gonna blow it out of proportion and say all you ever do is (whatever). You made said something lame in this thread (no biggie), but I’m not going to discount all the other good stuff that you’ve said/done.
Same with this patch. I will log on tonight and actually play a bit, maybe do some numbers crunching to see for myself how bad it really is. I’ll also ask my corpmates what they think of the changes. On forums, somethings things get blown out of proportion. I don’t know, I’ll find out tonight when I log in.
Anyways, not EVERYTHING in the patch is bad. Most of what they did is GOOD, at least in my opinion. I hope that they do a couple things in the near future though, like make it so that you rank up with contracts faster than you rank up in ships, allow people without liscences to play in same squad size as those who do have liscences, and allow implants to affect all ships in the same tier.
Just my 2 cents.
All things considered only typical haters write (or read) complains in the tone that everything went wrong with this patch. It didn’t - they brought good few things really wanted by community and kudos for that to the devs.
On the other hand though (and mind you - I’m aware it’s beta and things are still going through balancing process) they came up with changes which are plain wrong (font and HUD icons), poorly handled mechanics (speed cap) and so drastic that it puts many people off (Loyalty).
I see comments coming as it’s *their* game and they can do whatever they please to do.
But honestly, Star Conflict developers should take an example from Planetside 2 devs way of handling such matters.
Such things should be either discussed with community or at least there should be some kind of explanation what kind of “bigger picture” these changes fit into.
Otherwise - some people feel cheated, some people - simply confused. Most (including me atm) just upset that there is no dialogue whatsoever between developers and the community… No matter how good the game would be - without developers taking part in discussions on the forums and with patches introducing questionable changes not followed by a word of explanation (not to mention ninja changes not included in patch notes) even the best title out there will be loosing playerbase confidence in it…
