Star Conflict OBT v0.7.10

If there was, chances are moderators would have merged those threads here by now.

Well, it did happen. Error closed 4 topics and gave the link to the one on this subject : Loyalty. Look for yourself. I gave the links.

On a side note, being a wiki contributor and having an avatar/signature doesn’t give you the right to be on a high-horse.

Did you read the sentence just after : it was to make a point. It was just to explain WHY i care. Yes, i don’t need to grind (much). So i only care because i invest myself in this game, and i want it to be good. So that’s why i want you all to keep organised, read each others and stop flaming.

Maybe i should stop writing in this forum, because nobody understands what i try to explain.

You’re no better than anyone here.

So being no better than anyone, i can’t say i don’t agree with the majority ?

To please you i edited my signature.

True, one could make a +1 instead of an actual post. However, it’s far more productive to a developer to have information as to WHY people are upset, rather than +1. That’s why, although it’s already been said, I rewrote what I felt needed to be said. There’s also no forum post that specific states “All patch feedback here please”. If there was, chances are moderators would have merged those threads here by now. Being someone who’s more in-tune with game development as a profession, this thread is a good example of why forums are needed for video games , and getting this kind of (mostly) quality feedback is useful to them. The more replies there are, the more information they can collect and tabulate.

That’s just plain silly and only confirms that you tend to actually not read into what people say. Sadly.

This.

I am playing EVE until it is fixed.

This is the best solution. Take a break, relax. Stop playing for a bit. Come back when/if they fix it.

I’ll probably pop onto teamspeak for a bit and chat with my clan mates, let them know that I’m taking a break from the game to help send a message to the devs.

It’s very similar to what I feel. I’ll keep coming back for couple of games, I’ll keep working on the wiki (as I think it’s needed effort to actually make the game better and easier to understood for new people) but I might just slow down my progress even more and take a break to avoid being worn off or too upset by whatever happens with the game.

Good that I decided to buy European Escalation the other day really cheap.

This is going by hear-say from ingame players so correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the final goal for Star Conflict to be open world? If so it doesn’t make sense to be focusing on progression speed now since matchmaking and open-world systems allow for vastly different progression boosting/hindering systems(See: EVE vs World of Tanks)

You heard it all wrong. No SC developer ever said anything about open world except of the meta-game similar to a clan based world domination in WoT.

I thought you knew me better. That was a taunt.

If you really want to know, the real reason why i removed the wiki contributor banner i put 2 hours ago is because, all things considered, i don’t like it.

I hope YOU made it

My sentiments exactly. People tend to blow things out of proportion. I’ve seen some of your other posts frogswarm, and you’re making a good effort to be a positive influence. Suggesting to lock this thread was an unpopular suggestion and it came with a slight air of arrogance. But hey, I’m not gonna blow it out of proportion and say all you ever do is (whatever). You made said something lame in this thread (no biggie), but I’m not going to discount all the other good stuff that you’ve said/done.

Same with this patch. I will log on tonight and actually play a bit, maybe do some numbers crunching to see for myself how bad it really is. I’ll also ask my corpmates what they think of the changes. On forums, somethings things get blown out of proportion. I don’t know, I’ll find out tonight when I log in.

Anyways, not EVERYTHING in the patch is bad. Most of what they did is GOOD, at least in my opinion. I hope that they do a couple things in the near future though, like make it so that you rank up with contracts faster than you rank up in ships, allow people without liscences to play in same squad size as those who do have liscences, and allow implants to affect all ships in the same tier.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks mate.

You are talking and you haven’t even play with the new patch, i guess we know how smart you are now. If you seriously think any new player is going to get encourage by the money grabbing population shrinking moves hey keep moving then you just like to get scam out of your money and time.

New loyalty system is a big xxxx you to new players, THAT THIS GAME DESPERATELY NEEDS

Nobody is discounting everything he has ever done, only what was said in this thread.

I am curious how you can have an opinion that everybody is blowing it out of proportion and you have not even played since patch?

I guess my question to the people who dont like the speed cap, why not try another type of ship if interceptor is not your thing now, with the speed cap.

I know they made the loyalty system this way to increase “lifetime”, but everyone is dropping the game before it even gets started now

I’m guessing the few people in favor of the changes are already rank 12 in several factions and enjoy a considerable advantage as it’ll take 6 months to level to parity.  How about a server wipe, then I’m sure everyone would be equally opposed.

I said, “On forums, somethings things get blown out of proportion.”

That’s not an opinion. It’s a fact

Contracts are the only way to level sub factions. Okay, then lower the xp requirement to level the damn thing or this game is one giant grind.

Moving the beacons. Fine.

Moving the bomb. Fine

Nerfing the inteceptor speed. Not cool. The only ones that could hit those kind of speeds were squishy as hell. They could be one shot very easilly. I have played inteceptor since starting the game and now i don’t see the point. This game is so frigate friendly now that taking anything else is flat out stupid. The only thing that kept the inteceptor alive was its speed and you nerfed it. Conratulations, every inteceptor pilot in my corporation (EVO) is seriously considering quitting the game and boycotting it until this changes.

Let me tell you how this game works now:

Detonation - inteceptor grabs the bomb then fighters overtake the inteceptor and detroy it while frigates sit on the beacons stopping them from capping

Domination - frigates sit on the beacons and inteceptors cant go near it, when they see one undefended they attack and are met by fighters and destroyed

Combat recon - Everyone sits in a frigate and snipes all incoming inteceptors becuase they are too slow and too weak to cause any damage.and if they make it through then fighters destroy them.

In summary - Fix the damn inteceptors. Speed was their only advantage and you ruined them.

All things considered only typical haters write (or read) complains in the tone that everything went wrong with this patch. It didn’t - they brought good few things really wanted by community and kudos for that to the devs.

On the other hand though (and mind you - I’m aware it’s beta and things are still going through balancing process) they came up with changes which are plain wrong (font and HUD icons), poorly handled mechanics (speed cap) and so drastic that it puts many people off (Loyalty).

I see comments coming as it’s *their* game and they can do whatever they please to do.

But honestly, Star Conflict developers should take an example from Planetside 2 devs way of handling such matters.

Such things should be either discussed with community or at least there should be some kind of explanation what kind of “bigger picture” these changes fit into.

Otherwise - some people feel cheated, some people - simply confused. Most (including me atm) just upset that there is no dialogue whatsoever between developers and the community… No matter how good the game would be - without developers taking part in discussions on the forums and with patches introducing questionable changes not followed by a word of explanation (not to mention ninja changes not included in patch notes) even the best title out there will be loosing playerbase confidence in it…

Well, like many other im dissapointed with the change in loyalty system the fact that you can only earn loyalty through contracts. FAO of the Devs, You’ve created a fantastic game, but unless that loyalty system actually goes back to the way it was, you will have created a game killer, the proof is in the population, peak time used to be over 2000, its now a mere 1200. I rest my case.
