The only incentive for winning now is to gain more racial reputation and slightly more credits and a possibility to salvage a green item…not that big a deal. The amount of time to rank up your sub-faction is so disproportionately high that I’ve lost the incentive to continue playing.
Mk3 equipment is not the “I WIN” equipment…but still, I believe that’s what drives many players to play and grind sub-faction ranking so that they have an all blue ship. Now it takes too long to be rewarded for the efford that I need to put in for a marginal game…so the game just loses a dimension in my opinion. I used to grind 6 hours a day to fully equip all three of my ships with blues…now I’ve lost that urge. Even if I want to continue, I’ll probably log in once a week when the big reward contract has refreshed…which for the other 6 days, I’ll probably be playing other games, and I’m sure some of them will catch my interest eventually and I’ll quit this all together.
I would suggest removing the refresh limit on the contracts, up their difficulty, and up the rewards. Or, give us back sub-faction loyalty reward for winning/losing the game, but cut that by half. It just makes no sense that I can get to a T4 ship way faster than I can get a T2 blue item.
Even though the bonus for mk3 is small…but cumulatively, the impact can be quite significant…you’ll be both dealing more damage and be able to take more in return.
The game population is already small as it is now…and this is just chasing new players away. Please address this issue, and good bye for now.
Limiting Interceptors speed to 600 okay but allow Fighters the ability to get to almost 600 if they want is fair? they have more guns they have more missles slows, intercepters are worthless, if everyone else can go the same speed. The only difference now from a fighter is we turn a little faster and do a ton less dmg low hull and low shields… limit the fighter speed and frig speed by 100 to and make it fair. We are fast because thats what an intercepter is! This needs a HOT FIX NOW!

you cant limit frig speed by 100 they are slow my frigate can make only 240 if they make it slover the frigats will be useless
I liked everything in the patch but the loyalty change, and the loyalty change is so bad Its a deal breaker. The reasons have already been spelled out a hundred times, no need for me to recap. I’ll say this, I couldnt recommend this game highly enough to my friends until today. When I talk with’em about it tonight, my new position is that Star Conflict is just another game ruined by decisions by non-gamer suits at the top.
I’m sure they somehow figured slowing progress down 10x would magically increase their profits (since every MMO since Everquest has gotten that stupid idea in their heads, Thanks Brad)… But me, I’m done with life-grinder games. It will be a shame if Star Conflict stays like it became today, a life-grinder.
Increasing the time it takes to reach T2… why? You want your new players to get bored of the game before they even get out of the first Tier?
Contracts are the only way to level sub factions. Okay, then lower the xp requirement to level the damn thing or this game is one giant grind.
Moving the beacons. Fine.
Moving the bomb. Fine
Nerfing the inteceptor speed. Not cool. The only ones that could hit those kind of speeds were squishy as hell. They could be one shot very easilly. I have played inteceptor since starting the game and now i don’t see the point. This game is so frigate friendly now that taking anything else is flat out stupid. The only thing that kept the inteceptor alive was its speed and you nerfed it. Conratulations, every inteceptor pilot in my corporation (EVO) is seriously considering quitting the game and boycotting it until this changes.
Let me tell you how this game works now:
Detonation - inteceptor grabs the bomb then fighters overtake the inteceptor and detroy it while frigates sit on the beacons stopping them from capping
Domination - frigates sit on the beacons and inteceptors cant go near it, when they see one undefended they attack and are met by fighters and destroyed
Combat recon - Everyone sits in a frigate and snipes all incoming inteceptors becuase they are too slow and too weak to cause any damage.and if they make it through then fighters destroy them.
In summary - Fix the damn inteceptors. Speed was their only advantage and you ruined them.
This thread needs to be closed. Only new posters not even reading the previous post that says exactly the same.
Personally I find it good that people voice their opinion. The more of us voicing our concern about this the better. Did you check the ingame chat? I cant count how many times I’ve read something about the loyalty change. Its either people discussing how bad it is or players asking why they no longer get any loyalty after the battles.
Have you read the forum ? There are 5 or 6 topic on this exact same subject, and people keep whining without even reading what others say.
Of course I have read the forums because I rather read the forum then do the loyalty grind, I just hope that someone that mather reads all thes posts on the forum and do something about this.
OK, I figured I’d actually play with the new patch before voicing my opinion, so here it is: loyalty change is terrible for 3 reasons:
It penalizes new players, since veterans already unlocked everything the “easy” way.
Telling players what they can and can’t do with their game time is down right bad game design.
This is rather subjective, but it makes me want to play the game less. Loyalty is the most important resource in the game for me at this time. In a 5 hour time span, I could play for almost the full 5 hours, or only do the dailies and short cooldown contracts a couple of times in about 2 hours. All this for the same (small) reward. Guess what I’m going with? Playing more just feels inefficient use of my time.

There’s a reason for that, a lot of people are very upset and they want their concerns noticed.
For the most part, I really like this patch. More levels, more cover on certain maps, and nice new fixes.
What I don’t like, though, is the following:
0% > 5% > 10% gain on T1 ships, instead of 0% > 15% > 30%. It makes it less likely for veterans to play T1, and also much harder for rookies to reach T2 with ordinary income. I was shocked when I only made a net income of 2,000 credits after repairs and ammunition after a match. If you want to prevent veterans from playing in T1, lock out that tier to people who have access to T3 or T4, and refund them for the lack of access. This wasn’t listed in the patch notes, but it should be.
No more native subfaction reputation gain is a HUGE turn-off for me. I worked hard during my first week playing this game to try to unlock all the blues for T1. With the new system, since it’s so hard to grind that reputation, it gives me no reason to try to level it. This should either be fully reverted to the old system, or that using the contract system should be a lot easier, a lot more balanced, and a lot more profitable. For example, if I could get an equivelent number of subfaction loyalty points by doing the listed contracts as the old system gained it natively, it would make it worth doing, and not such a problem. This needs to be fixed ASAP or you’ll be scaring off most of the player base. I’ll also add that you’ve made it very hard for new players to match even a week-old player like myself who has an all-blue build for T1.
Capping maximum speed at 600 is simply lazy. If there’s a problem with the coding that bugs up ships going over 600 meters per second, then fix it. I understand if a temporary cap is added, but until this is fixed, you’ll be making it much more problematic for your Federation interceptor pilots.
Though I understand that the developers want to make the game last longer, it’s best to make a better end-game, than to make it harder to level up. I’m personally a person who hates grinding in games, but I found this game not to be bad at all, since it was much easier to do so. Until now. Now, it will push newbies away.
These above three issues are real dealbreakers, and should be reversed, fixed, or somehow dealt with as soon as possible. This dramatically affects the quality of the game.
Below, I have a few other thoughts on some other changes that, is important, isn’t crtical like the ones above:
The increase in number of ships in a fight in higher tiers is, though interesting, can lead to the game being about numbers rather than skill. In 6v6, I can usually hold my own even when horribly outnumbered, but in a 8v8, I’m finding that it can be fairly easy to be overwhelmed. I read here that even higher tiers have even more players. Instead of increasing it per tier, it would be far more balanced to give the option to the player to set the number of players they want to face, regardless of tier, and make brackets for such fights for tournament purposes.
I prefer the old font, though it’s not a dealbreaker for me. I think the old font should be restored, except for places where a smaller font is needed.

I think the best option (which will probably happen on it’s own anyway) is a bunch of players NOT playing for a few days. Sending a clear message to the devs to change this.
