i hope you guys are planning to do something about that horrific module upgrade system. before 1.0… :\
currently, more complicated than it needs to be and draws away from the focus of the game.
not to mention all the icons look the same, instead of being distinctive like the module icons, with a small upgrade icon/arrow attached.
the simple purchase system was best and most intuitive (which is very important), just needed access to experimentals (mk4). plus, experimental sounds cooler, dropping that description was prob a bad idea… yea ok, i’ll just be going now.
personally, i just can’t bring myself to play again with that trash in the way. /pukes/

Module upgrade packs need to show what they are upgrading. So many modules have similar names that I can never be sure if the kit is useful or junk. It should have the picture of the module it upgrades.

I agree with this, it will be a welcome addition, although remembering all the modules is not THAT hard anyway. But I suppose this game should be tuned down for everyone to play in the easy mode.
Because aiming and tactical skill must be promoted, but basic memory skills are not for the real PRO gamers.

The problem is similarity.
I know what a Coil Mortar is just from the name, but I couldn’t tell you what an Auxiliary Shield Generator does. It could be a personal heal, it could be an aura heal, or it could be one of two passive modules that boosts your total shield strength.
But if I see the module’s picture, I know exactly what it does. Even if you don’t tell me its name I can tell you what it does. This is primarily because in game names are not used - it’s all visual. I look at my action bar, I see the PICTURE of a Module that drains enemy shields, or makes me invincible for two seconds, or cloaks me, etc. and I activate it and then see the activated effect. All of us learn to associate the image with the result. The name doesn’t really come into it.

Good question. I get kicked in pretty much every match. packet loss is up to 70% when it happens.

Dont touch the modules!!!
It got already dumbed down. Building a Ship is one of the key aspects for me. I would really hate it, when this game gets down to “research the best weapon-no diversity” like it is in WoT for example.
Yet I agree that in the description of the upgrade kits should be a description of the basic module, too.

Missiles got dumbed down to nothingness, weapon modifiers got dumbed down to nothingness, passive slots got dumbed down to nothingness! Enough is enough!
While putting the module icon on the upgrade kits is a good idea, anything that involves any further changes to modules should be easy to discern and understand, but NEVER in a way to dumb the game down. That is the very reason I stopped playing WoW ages ago, I’d very much hate to see the same fate happening with this game.
Simplifying is NOT dumbing down, unlike what the previous changes have done. The Missile changes were COMPLETELY uncalled for, the Modifier changes I can still understand (balance issues, blah, blah, blah, can’t have different damage types from weapons, blah, blah, blah) but were still unneeded so drastically.

Not me, but some players seems to still have this problem.
It’s started with some lag spikes at 5pm. (russian hour) and become crazy at 6pm. for me.
The reward are not earn, Contracts do not complete, synergy is not earn.
Ships are stuck and some players have Latency problems in battle.
Oryngton : Don’t forget that something may seems simple for you but very hard for others. It’s not because it’s seems dumb for you that it is for everyone. Dev should try to find the middle ground.
