Did you take highest-ranking ship in tier? What tier were you matched with? Were you the only 2 pilots in the group?
As I posted, he flew with three (3) Tier 1 Rank 1 ships, I used only one (1) Tier 1 Rank 2 ship (Engineer). Wasn’t fun.
Later he tried squad with other “newb1es”, all of them with Tier 1 Rank 1 ships, low DSR/Skill Rating… Guess what? He experienced the same results.
And since that “incident”, is getting harder and harder for me to convince my real life friends to join the game, because the squad system ain’t working thanks to the matchmaking system, and they don’t want to play something solo, they want the same as I and the same as plenty of players: To have FUN playing TOGETHER with your FRIENDS, like in every other MMO.
The only mode where I can play with 3 friends is PvE, and we have few missions, they’re boring, they ain’t fit for all the ships, and they are meant to be grinded/farmed. So in the end, there’s no fun neither.
At the moment we do not plan on fixing matchmaking to tiers.
Plz rethink that! At least for the new players in t1-2. If you want to have a strong playerbase, since at the moment its way too discuraging for newbies.
And while were at it: Give more vouchers, its a terrible grind. Encourage PPL to achive something EVERY DAY! Like you can upgrade a module to MKIII every day. you will see, this will keep players playing.
I already told you: enemy teams composed by ships with MORE than 3 ranks above. It’s okay to find from 1 to 3 ranks above, but 4 or 5 is too much, it’s really a lot, and it’s not even considered a “challenge” when one of the squad members is a fresh-man (my friend) and the other is a regular non-ace player (me). It’s masochism.

I need exact info. By exact info I mean:
What rank was he fighting with, when was he fighting it.
How many people were in his squad, what ships were these people piloting.
You haven’t told me: was it before 0.9.9 or after.

Exactly, just the other day i saw someone with all t2 ships in a t4 match. Needless to say he was being shot down repeatedly like paper.
I’m totally fine with t4s in t5 and even t3s in lower t4 works but intermixing 1-2-3 is just too much, because of how implants and modules work
What rank was he fighting with, when was he fighting it.
How many people were in his squad, what ships were these people piloting.
You haven’t told me: was it before 0.9.9 or after.
I honestly don’t remember the exact day nor time, I know it was last week, around 20:00 to 00:00 hours GMT -4 (his free time from work), Wednesday or Thursday. I don’t have logs, I don’t have screenshots, and the funny thing is that I don’t need it, because I have HIM, a friend with whom I usually hang out to chat and drink a beer or mate, that reminds me of how awful the PvP and the matchmaking system is. And I’m positive he isn’t the only one that left the game, because the “welcome” isn’t pretty, is brutal and unfair, because most people come with the idea to play with others, not alone, and they do squads even before entering their first ever PvP. I myself came with that idea, because I did that in every single MMO that I played before SCon. It’s completely logical for a “weak” to try and team up with other “weaks” in order to have a chance to win, in order to be protected, to learn with others, to… well, there’s a lot of gaming philosophy to add, but I don’t want to keep writing.
Add a Condensator and a CPU on the Reaper or/and Add an Armor slot and a CPU slot on the Reaper.
Covert ops / Recon are fine
ECM is a little bit too tanky
Fighters are fine
Nerf this godman Ion Emitter.
CPU on Crus-S: no. It’s fine as is.
Engine slot on Ana-M: yes.
Capacitor/CPU/Armour on Reaper: It might need the armour for the extra tank, but we don’t even know wtf those ships specialize in, other than P2W.
Stop trying to balance skill. Thats unavailable in every respect.
The reason we ask for FIXED tiers is so that we have a decent competition ALONG with our friends. Simply make it so when a squad of 4 queues up, they get matched with another squad of 4 in a game. How hard is that?!
Once again, no one is punishing you. You are being offered a challenge every time you play.
Except it is. Answer me this: Do you think it’s fair for T1 pilots, friends, to squad up and meet T3 ships ON THEIR FIRST MATCH? Considering most (if not all) were R1/2 ships.
Balancing skill is NOT throwing squads of friends into higher Tiers just because they’re squaded. THAT’S punishment. THAT’S wrong. And you know it. Why not make separate Tiers and queues for squaded people? Oh, that’s right, because people are leaving the game… Care to take a wild guess as to why that is? I’ll give you a hint, it has vastly to do with MM.
Again: After 0.9.9 you shouldn’t have experienced fights two tiers higher than you.
Even if you did (we have drastically mitigated this possibility), this t2+ should be Very low on skill etc.
What we want, is: That you lock T1 and T2 for the newbies.
Personally I dont care about locking tiers at all, but im a vet that can fly in any tier.
Still, I would, since I want this game to be a success with a big playerbase, recommend that you LOCK T1 and T2.
The problem here is, that newbies cant understand all the game-mechanics. They just see: “WTF is a T2 doing in my T1??? That game is fking broken, i quit.”

The only problem I see with that, is the difference between Tier 1 and tier 2. If two friends with their brand new tier 1 ships squad up and go against rank 4 or 5, the difference in firepower and abilities is more than a challenge. It is just unfair.
I don’t mind being placed against rank 7 or rank 8 with a rank 4 Deimos. I can chose different modules and weapons. But the same with a rank 3 would be suicidal.
So far after the new patch, 2 men squad have the same rank MM than if I play alone. Maybe one more rank possibility, but we are always placed in our rank matches.
So in the end, I suggest you tinker a bit how to solve the tier 1 issue, so a squad of new players won’t go against tier 2 and above.
Provide me with a screensot and logs. When, how, where did T1 meet with T3 after 0.9.9.
Otherwise I cannot consider this a real feedback. Sorry.
Well I’m sorry that I’ve provided so many that have gone unanswered, already. And yes, this was Sunday @ roughly 2-3pm. Have fun with ignoring me on that so the MM does it more often.

Yeah, we know about the “pics or didn’t happen” part of the story. But you have access to everything, you’re a developer. Don’t tell me you can’t see what’s going on? Take for example the number of players logged in right now (1356). Usually we have MORE players in THIS timezone, but the playerbase is going down-hill everyday. Sure, there are new gamers, but the old are leaving, and this can’t keep up forever, since sometime you’ll run out of “new” players. The actual matchmaking is the worst publicity the game has, you must fix it, ASAP.
The other day should have been before 0.9.9.

I can’t believe what I am reading from you here time and time again…You say the system is good?
How can T1 put up a challenge against T2, let alone T3?
How can T2 put up a challenge against T3, let alone T4?
The ship slots, modules availability and implants make a HUGE difference.
Maybe we should do an event…Dev T1 team vs NASA T2 team…I’m sure the dev team can totally win!
Again: After 0.9.9 you shouldn’t have experienced fights two tiers higher than you.

Pardon my words, but new T1 players have ZERO skill. If they’re matched with T2 players, these T2 players need to have less than zero skill to compensate.
Mixing tiers might be alright for T3 and above, but definitely not for T1.
Error isn’t a dev. He’s just an official/unofficial (I’m actually not sure if he’s getting paid) community manager/QC guy/head GM.
He has little power in terms of actual development. All he can do is tell devs what’s going on. Implementation of his advice is up to the devs, and as we’ve seen many times before, they don’t really care all that much for feedback.
I imagine that must be a pretty frustrating position to hold.
Actually the last changes into modules (for example -1 cpu +1 capacitor etc) were thanks to him. He actually has more voice than u know. And he’s a cool guy.
