Because we already own all the equip for ships when we buy the previous one. If I move from a R7 Gunship to a R9 Gunship I will NOT be buying its equip from scratch - I’ll strip down the R7 and reuse it’s parts!

 

In fact, sometimes we don’t even need equipment for the first ship of each tier. Through sheer luck I picked up two experimentals for T3 gunships, plus I have some weapons and ship modifiers from my tackler that can be reused. 

Seriously though, Antibus, the fact you needed to ask why people want default gear removed proves you don’t play… Or if you do, that you are completely out of touch with how most people play.

The same is 100% true for the devs as well.

If at least the presets made any sense… they have random mods here and there lol

Why don’t just make the equipment an option? Are you going to buy the ship? cool, here you have the preset equipment. Tick if you want it, un tick if you don’t. (and sustract that money from the ship cost)

 

Easy for new players, perfect for veterans.

 

Make this available from tier 2 or maybe tier 3, so tier 1 and tier 2 became the training ground.

You know what you can do? Let the “preset” in the first ship of each Tier, but remove them from the rest, because we will upgrade some/most of the equipment and carry it over to the next ship. Example: Katana and Katana S, they use almost the same setup, and you will use them the same way, so from the Katana, the weapon, the active modules and some of the passives will be transfered to the Katana S. No need to get another copy of the same things, since we already have them, and even upgraded, catch it? :slight_smile:

Even that is a waste of credits. JUST REMOVE PREFITS.

As someone from the “older” players, who was there in the time without prefits, I HAVE TURNED OUT JUST FINE. I don’t need prefits to know how to fit, if i need help I can ask people. 

Just make it an option, then EVERYONE is happy no? People who would like to have a prefit ship can do it, and people like me who don’t, don’t have to waste 6m credits.

Because you would have to remove module prices off the ships then if we want to buy without the prefit.

Still, we asked for the option to buy ships without prefitted Modules since you introduced prefits in the first place!!!

And what is the motivation behind no presets? You do understand that you will have to spend more credits in order to fly it after purchase?

 

Is it not possible Antibus to allow players to fit their own ship with the mk1 modules of their choice for the same price currently ? (As a 1 off thing when you purchase the ship) As I find most of the preset ship builds are not how I would fit the ship (And tbh some are just rubbish full stop)

This game is not even finished yet, &  the changes make me crazy. 

i only play this because its the only multiplayer experience left online for flight style like this, (besides possibly Vendetta )

i have great hope for a final version of this game that just rocks…but im not gonna involve myself in the minutia of it all i just play, visit the foums and see whats being talked about and whats on everyone’s mind- since i started playing in August, i feel lucky to be at rank 7 - T3 Katana and Hawk-Eye, not sure what i will fly next, i have currently 1.2 million credits - rank 8 ship will cost me 2.5 million, and usually when i buy a ship im broke after…i buy the ship as soon as i get the money to actually get it to speed my progress.  I think if they nerf prefits or give us the option to “not” fit the price reduction will be as laughable as the grind we are currently experiencing. Their decisions seem like trial and error with no road-map set to make this game. They are blindly going along inventing things as they go and seeing what we have to say- Do they not have Quality Assurance team? OR IS THAT WHAT WE ARE? Thats what it feels like to me.

 

this game gives me what i feel i missed in Eve Online- and loved about games Like Tachyon The Fringe- intensity of dog-fighting, and i really like the PVP games, its a nice change from just Deathmatch and Team DM - Another game i really liked is Unreal Tournament 2004 the beacons game reminds me of Onslaught :slight_smile:

Same, I loved this game in the first place due to the similarities, and differences between this game and EVE online. But ever since I started the game has been slowed down by several months of extra progress, dumping down of own choices in fits, and that sort of thing.

 

A way EVE online pushes ships into certain roles is by bonuses, want to use a logictics ship as DPS ship? Sure…But you’ll be terrible at it. While in this game it is a “You chose this role, live with it” which makes me kind of sad. But I can understand and don’t mind the role system.

 

But beyond that this game has some really nice abilities right now, it just needs fine tuning(In some cases a major fine tune) and it would be awesome. But the devs just keep stepping further away from good systems and make this game even more grindier with every large patch.

Funny, but it rather feels the same from here.

The Devs have this idea of how people “should” play that is totally at odds with how people WANT to play, and yet never compromise. Ever.

You want mixed tiers? No? Well we do so you are wrong!

You don’t like preset gear? We do so you have to like it!

You like flying specific tiers? We think people should get to T5 as fast as possible, so here’s a load of penalties to make T1 to T4 insufferable!

Maybe if someone taught the Devs how to ask the question “why don’t you like this?”, and taught them to LISTEN TO and ACT UPON what they hear, then perhaps we wouldn’t see every. Single. Patch. Being torn apart like this.

Seriously, do you know what the overriding thought in my head was about my last half dozen T3 matches? How pathetic T3 is now compared to when I started flying it. T3 went from a tier where teamwork was everything, to a tier where teamwork was a major factor, to a tier where teamwork doesn’t happen because the teams are flying T1 and get mauled at spawn.

I would LOVE to hear the justification for this "improvement’.

Because you would have to remove module prices off the ships then if we want to buy without the prefit.

It involves math… and coding… and debugging… and more math… :effort:

Theres only 2 ways to solve the problem with progression according to what the devs may be thinking right now…

 

  1. They want players to reach R15 fast, so T5 fights are fun, to do so you must decrease drastically the time needed to level from T1 to T5, but then it would turn into a world of warcraft, where 90% of the playerbase are located in the end Tier, and the other tiers are scarcelly populated since everyone is already at top level (T5).

 

  1. They want all the tiers to have a distributed playerbase (the model currently being used) but since the grind is too slow and boring ppl stay more at lower levels, if they want to change that they need a larger playerbase but they are not even satisfying the current players, so, an massive increase in playerbase is very far away.

  No one forced anyone to play T5, and it is better to release stuff like this earlier, atleast now every one is aware of disbalance issue (yes Jericho guard i am looking towards you) in that tier. Probably final balance is not on top of priorities in devs team, looking at what they still have to release for conquest, i would expect final balancing to be done right before release. 

 Currently i find T3 to be very fun to play, it is not as deep and customizable as t4/5 but population is high, there is pretty good balance in roles/ships and games are most of the time 12v12. I have full t4 rooster, but i don’t find it worth my time currently, in my time zones there are hardly any t4 games, and if there are all of them on RU servers and they are hardly 4v4s, oh and queue is long.

are they afraid of losing us if we get to Rank 15 too fast and we lose interest? so they slow the game down and everyone’s progress to keep us all “in the game” because they dont have a Quality Assurance Test Team? 

they put up so many roadblocks to progress it feels like the game is being run by the Obama adminsitation - ala Re-Distribution of Wealth  :bomber:  :lol:  That’s funny right there- i don’t care who ya are! GITTER DUNNNNN !

…why not allow us to enjoy those high tier ships (remove the loyalty-credit-artifact grind) and just make more new ships as the game rolls along instead of nerfing us all into T3 ? did they lose their 3D design team? how hard is it to make ships?

why even have T5 if no one can even get there? only ppl i see in T5 are vets who got this game in its early stages.

I have only been playing since August (downloaded from Steam) and the knowledge day event - thats what got me to T3 and the title of Cosmonerd and now Smiter. I worked my A*ss  off to get those titles before the event was over !

Now i don’t even want to fly with the title, because the shine on that title has faded.

Now I just fly as “Slippster”.  :yes_yes:  Less clutter on the targeting screen  The titles dont mean crap anymore.

 

Oh, and i like the idea one guy had about giving credits rewards for medals and achievements - brilliant idea.

Besides this, when I first got some T4 ships I already had a dozen T4 green modules for the ships I was buying.  I have three T3 Recon Mk.III modules sitting in warehouse, and no T3 recon.  When I get a T3 recon, I’ll be paying for a prefit with Mk.I gear when I have Mk.III gear available, and that’s ignoring the passives in warehouse.

btw: since the recent patches there are only a handfull of ways to play certain ships (dumbing down ftw).

it is often so obvious what to fit that you could impossibly screw up completely… well that’s what i thought… until i have bought a new ship with prefits -.- … my “old” t3 ship has ruoghly 20k more survivability than the new t4 ship and the t4 ship has got a SERIOUS energy problem and is even using the heavy hull even if the ship is a damned shield tank. needless to say i wasted my credits on new gear so i couldn’t PAY (and yes, paying for getting the module and not the artis IS paying for my loot…) for my purple loot.

 

do the devs really think this is “fun”? from the recent changes and especially the outrageous upgrade prices (even t3 is ways to costly… t4 and 5? forget about it…) it is obvious that the people in charge got no idea about the game whatsoever, all they see is a way to make more profit, every single change i have seen in this game besides the camera-fuckup (still not 100% fixed) and the fully-custom gui joke has been done to force players to pay.

 

don’t you understand how important the hardcore comunity is? if you ruin your relationship with the playerbase this game will likely be closed down before there is a full release.

i hope someone reads all the compalins… at least you have noticed them and descided to censor the forum a bit huh? good thing you take notice, bad thing react like this…
