I just thought of something, since a lot of the module/ship problems in this game are related to certain bonuses(guards range increase, commands range increase etc.) would it not be possible to remove ship bonuses? That way balancing would become a hell of a lot easier I’d imagine. And then give all ships in the same tier the same slot amounts, so the difference between ships becomes the slot layout, instead of having some useless ships out there.(For example: Garm)

The Garm has a mobility bonus, iirc.

 

And those bonuses are what gives ships some individuality. To be fair, if the ships were all the same, having a Crusader or an Inquisitor would be exactly the same and any sense of progression would likely be thrown out the window. I mean, why spent 10mill on that ship if it’s just going to be a copy/paste of the previous one?

It is the exact same thing now with a lot of ships, but due to other slot layouts, more slots, better stats in higher modules, and more implants, you got a reason to use a higher tier one.

 

And garm gets a 100% increase in Warp Gate health…Like that is useful >.>

 

 

I think it would be helpful if when you get a purple upgrade kit, it tells you the details about what item it is for. Its annoying to not know what module its for, especially since so many of them sound the same. Also, I really hope that fed is going to get buffed in this next patch. Ive been playing fed since i first picked up this game, so now Im rank 12 and I play mostly frigates/support roles. Im nowhere near rank 12 in the other factions (rank 7 in both emp and jer), and the game is way too grindy now for me to bother going through T3. Fed’s only defense right now is speed, but that isnt really good enough. We need our guards and engies to survive for more than 5 seconds if we’re not behind a rock

I don’t know all of the modules name so just having some info about the role and the ship whisc the upgrade item is for, will helps a lot when u get a purple loot…

 

Anyway the loyality grinding in subfaction is just broken imo…I mean: am i supposed to buy all the ships in the game (with synergy etc) to unlock the contracts in the subfaction…? This is insane now…

If i’m a lvl 12-13 pilot in any of the faction (just buyng ships) it would be logical to unlock same lvl contracts in all the subfactions…That’s same system used for implants after all…

Let’s be honest, yes, most of those bonuses are utterly useless and attract nothing about the ships they’re on, but they have some use. Considering Imperial Engineers are so slow, they can survive better with the Gate, considering it’s a needed thing to make a quick exit. Obviously, it’s a mostly useless mod, but the strategy works and the enemy takes twice as much time to kill the gate, often the amount of time you need to actually survive.

Fair enough, but with the CD on the gates they are not really worth it anymore IMO. I’d much rather have 2 repair beacons with a 20% cost reduction or 20% heal increase.

So lets recap.

  1. Balancing issues to be resolved

  2. MM issues resolved

  3. 4 man squads to fight there own Tier and never +2 Tiers above them. Maybe +1 Tier above them, MAX

  4. Contracts should give like +/- 5000 vouchers as right now or an adjustment in the way we gain MK3 items. 

  5. Premium ships are still useless

  6. The ratio of GS to Free Synergy is way too low. (I have 2 mill synergy or AKA 22k GS to convert which means I can buy another copy of KSP with that much money.)

  7. A linear way to progress. Ships and there modules should be gained, not lost. If I move to another ship and it had 2 engine slots, I expect the next ship to have 2 engine slots! or an additional slot. Not this mumbo jumbo mess we have at the moment!

When did I not have credit issues…Damn 9m T5 ships…but I agree, removing that made no sense.

What you get from the contracts now is considered like credits ?  as it requires whatever amount to upgrade that module.

 

Its really annoying when faction you have the most amount of “credits” is not the one you can use use to upgrade the module you want.   So now you pay to change over to the faction just so you can start gaining “credits” required.   

 

Some require “credits” or GS to upgrade… then to change to purple… you have to have the right amount of “artifacts” …

 

whew… talk about GRINDING requirements. 

 

 Then on top of that … in PVP to get these artifacts you have to WIN unless you bought a “BOOSTER” which requires you to pay GS  so at least if you lose you get a chance at the ''LOOT" 

 

So it all about choice… do I use those 5-10 % in game boosters for my health and assist in battle  

or given the requirements pay on top of paying just so I can a SNIFF of the LOOT even if I happen to be on the losing team due to knuckleheads not understanding the objectives of each game.

I agree that in term of credits there should be : 

-no charge when changing factions (contracts)

-a few credits when doing a contract

-no prefitted ships

-more credits from PvE/PvP

 

(choose 2-3 solution between the ones mentionned above, but not all, this would be too easy)

^ changed that for ya. All 3 of these changes will do exactly what the devs want. A slow progression and a rush to T5.

The point is to lower the cost of the ships. Or, at the very least, create an option to buy them ungeared at a cheaper price.

See this example:

Right now, i got a R13 jericho guard, Got it half fitted with mk1, and half fitted with mk3.(Not exact, but you get the point)

If I want to buy the R15 guard, I have to spend 9 million credits.

After I buy it, I will have:

R15 guard

~16 mk1 modules

What will I do then?

Replace all mk1’s with the mk3’s from my R13 guard.

Replace 50-75% of the remaining mk1 modules to my own preferred fit/a non-terrible fit.

 

Which meant I probaly paid 4-6m credits for mk1 modules that I won’t use on my guard, if on any of my ships ever.

 

Really, do the devs/you actually play this game if you can’t even understand this?

Because we already own all the equip for ships when we buy the previous one. If I move from a R7 Gunship to a R9 Gunship I will NOT be buying its equip from scratch - I’ll strip down the R7 and reuse it’s parts!

I have even stripped down other ship classes to fit my new ship class…(Like unfitting my LRF to fit my styx, although only partly, it did save me a lot of credits)
