4 man squads should have that rating penalty. Duo don’t make a difference in a 12v12 game and trio need extremely good teamplay to break the game balance. Right now a bunch of average players that casually create a squad for the sake of playing together get matched against average players 2 tiers higher and get absolutely destroyed. You tried to curb the 40-50 guys that compose the top squads but kicked everybody else in the balls too.

The matchmaking is utterly broken… Mixing tiers is a mess, cause before you would queue with T3 ships 2 man squad and you were put in a 12x12 battle within seconds. Now, you queue a 2 man squad (full T3 ships equiped with MK1 modules, and a few MK2 and each player with 1200 rating) and you take lots of minutes to enter a battle, and when you do it is a 4x4 or 5x5 battle…AGAINST T4 and T5’s!!!

 

Now, i am considering the Pov of a T3 player, now lets consider the T1 player. Before this patch, a 2 man T1 squad (R2 or R3) was put on battle against R6’s which was already an complete unfair battle. Now we get the chance to pit our T1’s against T3’s, like thats survivable. I think a Crus S pulsar can kill any non-frigate T1 ship with only it’s pulsar… Not because pulsar is too strong, but because you dont pit T1’s against T3’s, cause T3’s have LOADS more survivability and dammage.

 

To be honest, i dont see this game alive in 6 months, because the devs and their ludicrous modifications looks like a bunch of childish amateurs who doesnt know what to do with their hands. They think HEY, lets SCREW THIS MORE, this way we generate more income, but theres a limit on how much you can insult players.

 

If this kinds of modifications keep happening im sad to say that YOU, the ones in the finances department will bury the game because you dont control the devs (or you control and order them to xxxx everything up so u can get more money…) either way, i would like to ask for and option, which allows me and my brother to play “pvp” battle with bots, AND GET REWARDS, since that way it would be possible to farm money to buy your crap expensive gear, and would provide us with 12x12 battles again…

Having played a few matches with the new squads/matchmaker relationship, and seeing that not only are T5 4v4 killsquads back, but even worse since they now can get matched against players two tiers below them, my reaction can only be properly expressed with lots of flipped tables.  Ergo:

Feel free to quote that.  It’s not fun fighting a T5 killsquad, or being a T5 killsquad and mopping the floor with some folks flying T3s.

 

 

 

If you faced a T5 kill squad as T3 4 man squad, you shall have a screen shot+logs and write a bug report, because T5 squads are put in separate queue vs another high ranked squads and shall never be versing T3 squads.

System actually works… it isn’t so bad… just need a couple of fixes in prices and matchmaking…

 

Now please focus urself on gamplay. Couse that part is complelty broken.

Anyway i found too much panic and histeria on this thread about guards and frigs…Game is not turned in wall of frigs at all…I’m killing more of them now tbh (T4) coz of the survival modules nerf i suppose :wink: Sure there are still some t4 jericho monsters around…but they were theer b4 last patch

I see, the result is quite an abuse of the MM anyway: 

Take a (very) good rank 11 Killsquad and they will get matched in a T5 Pug match with randoms on the other side.

Since T4 ships are very close to T5s (partly even better if you compare energy regeneration/afterburner use) they have more than a good chance to win the battle. 

The problem I see at the moment is, that the MM now queues 4-man-squads vs complete PUGs which will result in battles with less than 8 players on each side in a insta-loss for the pugs. 

 

Especially since the DSR has also an impact in the selection of players per battle. 

DSR is not always a good indicator of skill, but the “chunking” of high skilled players in a-bit-worse-ships vs. unskilled and random Pugs which get compensated by some lone high DSR players is far from optimal.

Its been said many times over … with little to no response from the dev team … SPLIT THE TIERS - NO CROSS TIER FIGHTING regardless of squad size etc. This would resolve virtually all complaints about current MM bar for the T5 guys due to non existent player base that high yet

A proposal: Fly with EvilTactitian, Kipps and me this evening 5 Matches in R11. Were all good teamplayers and then we might show you a bit better where the Matchmaker fails.

So a week waiting for a patch to fix things and when the patch comes it will not only not fix what is needed to be fixed but it will most likely break something else.

So in what scenario is it ok to match a 2 man t3 squad (me and a friend) against a 3 man t4 squad from esb in a 6v6 match? So instead of new t3 ships getting anihilated, its well equiped r8-9 t3 ships getting totally anihilated by mismatched opponents? Sounds fair to me. To make it even more awesome, that was a match after waiting 3 minutes in queue. 

Played 3 other matches with the same squad mate, all 3 were against full t4 squads apart from the usual odd one out.

 

If this is going to be the state of matchmaking, you may as well just remove the ability to make squads all together until you reach tier V… Or return the matchmaking we had prior to the patch and only allow t5 squads to have 4 members and play in their own little area…

I would say absolutely not. Coz in this way usual palyers be back in squads to easily farm in the same tier matches…I think that this MM is anyway better than the old one…but surely it still needs some fixing :wink:

 

Idea:

Why not make players being part of squad highlighted by a diferent colour during the match preview? In this way at least anyone can understand a bit more about the MM :wink:

Remeber that if u see palyers from same corp in the opponent team, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are in a squad.
