-prices for items: stupid high, even bigger gap between new and old players across all tiers

-supreme slow EVERYWHERE and frigate god mode is on. to me as recon pilot (80% of play time) - I feel dumped and useless

-also credits taken out from contracts :/. this with increased prices for gear and faction swaps will lead to extreme tier camp and stahl progresion on global scale

Okay, so having clocked some flight time, the matchmaking in squads… I feel like our team did handle itself pretty well, but 4 man squads are really being pushed to fly T4 / T5. A T3 squad just gets dumped into T5 regardless.

After playing a few games, and seeing the new metagame is sitting around, I was deeply disappointed.

 

It feels like the match is won by patience.

 

Not only has the grind increased, the game really feels like a lab rat experiment now.

 

I like the reticules, but I actually miss the original one, the new ones are all huge. The big numbers of hits I got used to, but first time, using a big cursor and seeing those I was thinking I play Audiosurf. Colors, shapes, rising numbers, what do they mean? Nobody knows.

 

The games are boring, and only way to play clean T3 is to keep playing alone. Because in T3, at least the slowing field is only really cool if you make an energy fit on the guards, which seems to change enormously in T4. Tanky, stand-around guards with 8km slowing field, non stop tackling…

 

The slowing field was fine as it was. There were a couple of good builds which worked flawlessly with it, and now it just makes people use it easier. Probably the guys giving you feedback about it, had not really used it well yet.

 

I really hoped you increase the possibilities of energy war instead, as you started to nerf the ECM. The sheer madness of Tackling now really amazes me. Getting stopped and killed mid-flight makes Ceptors stay behind, keeps Frigates floating in the back, and occasional Fighters flying around.

Energy war? What is that? You don’t need to destabilize an enemy, which you insta-gib after it gets hit by a button.

 

I might try this new patch more, I still have a long time of license left, but honestly, with this grind, I don’t know, if any friends are left to fly with, and I really enjoyed the fact, that many friends liked the game, even by watching us play.

ok found the deal with invisble ships :smiley: you can fix that in ur hud settings :smiley: and for some reason after this “hotfix” my dmg is “ALMOST” what it was… other then that only prob left is the upgrade from t2 to t3 mod/weapons there just to pricey :(

well it wont make me go bankrupt cause I have licences, but the money from contracs really helped in times when I was without license and many pilots will feel this

hmmm was thinking this patch wasnt so bad but honestly i have been only sticking to pve (testing things out) and there things are not so bad, but then reading all thease peoples complaints about “god mode” fridgballs again… and the double on range on slow down effects… i will try once in pvp if i dont like it, i’ll spend my time in pve until i get bored then i will move on to other things :slight_smile:

 

 

 

update:  well well even scoring at the top of the battle and not dieing, i can still see how intys are almost utterlly useless pieces of garbage now, (why nerf the speed so much)and frankley i am glad there was only one guard in that battle or i might have lost my poor fear me medal :*( but i guess i will be seeing yall in pve untill i get bored and call it till next week and see if its improved or not…

You also have to remember players are being hit with credit costs to recover their Mk IV blueprints now. The cost of them is the equivalent of 4-6 matches of earnings for a non-licence pilot, if not more.

Well, good job making the game worse.

 

The one that looked good was the potential for being able to get mk 4 weapons much more easily than before. I thought, “Oh, maybe they opted to have a grind instead of leave it up to RNG.” Yeah, that would have been too good to be true.

 

So, not only doe the grind take FOREVER to level up modules, you have to either have the mk 4 upgrade (which is still stupidly rare) or artifacts (which are also stupidly rare). 

 

BUT WAIT, there’s MORE! The upgrade packs are only for specific modules! Well, I guess this means that after you’ve gotten 5 purples for crap you don’t need you can finally salvage enough to be able to do it the artifact method. 

 

 

Overall I guess this system works, I’m just very disappointed that they didn’t specify how everything works before hand or even in the patch notes.

I actually had hopes that this patch will reduce the loyalty grinding but on the contrary it took the grinding to a whole new level.

 

And if the guard situation wasn’t already messed up in t4/t5, this patch makes it worse.

Like g4 said they’ve turned the combat into a slow-paced, boring piece of xxxx. Who knows it might just become “point > click > wait” over the next few patches(like, you know, that game that everyone talks about in the global chat). Then there will be absolutely no reason for me to play this game.

 

I’m confused as to what exactly the devs are trying to do or what their goals are, but improving the game definitely isn’t one of them.

We have stated it before, we are stating this once again: the amount of artifact in tropheys has been increased.

Since artifacts have been introduced, I’ve gotten 41 in the amount I play, probably half of that time licensed but no extra loot DLC or booster modules.  Just how much of a boost are we talking?  The loyalty grind’s going to be bad enough for new players, is it even going to be practical to get one purple item?  Thank you for giving non corp players to use their artifacts on, but the rates are high.

 

Still no path from Hydra 2 to Styx  :learn:

That’s because Styx is OP and they don’t want any T2 players making that kind of jump.  It’s true and you know it.  There’d be one more engineer in T2 PvP with working modules if it could go to a Styx.

 

I recommend doing a practice battle in such a monster as above and figure them out. 

I do a practice match after every patch.  I learned the hard way.

 

There is. T5 killsquads are fighting with other T5 killsquads. 

Some of T5 squads will go to the special T5 que, depending on their power. 

I think this is the 4 man squad fix that people really wanted.

 

Anyway, guards got some hard nerfs as well, the emergency shield booster now has a twice as long CD(T5 mk3 94 seconds) , and the metal injector has gained about 20 seconds CD reduction at T5 mk3. All EHP’s of my frigs dropped as well by ~5k.

 

While guard got an increased AoD(Area of Denial) they now also got a far weaker tank ability

The cooldown is a severe change.  The AMS change I don’t fully support because it turns into boosted flares instead of AMS.  AMS can protect allies, now it’s mainly just for the guard.  I’m guessing Luckyo isn’t used to larger matches with 12 players on a team with teamwork fitted ships.  If the guard can’t see or hear the missile, he won’t know to activate it.

 

I think I’ll leave debunking your retardedness to others this time. It’s really obvious that guards got buffed in a massive fashion through AMS buff and massive slowdown of all ships as well as massive nerfs to all modules across board, which naturally favors guards as they are the lowest skill ceiling, least module dependent ships in the game.

AMS was nerfed by the looks of it.  Mass propulsion on the other hand might make me want to level up Fed guards.  I’m willfully ignoring the rest of your post.

Wait a few days before trying PvP in my experience, if you’ve been flying a lot of PvE.  The match dynamics change a lot anyway.

 

Now to my direct comments.

 

Tweaking the HUD to make it similar enough to before took too long, the default should have been similar to before.  It’s too large, so target arrows at the bottom of the screen will probably be hidden by my module display.  That’s a big issue to me.

 

It’s about time for the singularity AoE change.  We’ve been complaining about that since it was introduced.  Also, shrapnel wasn’t OP.  I got hit by it a few times recently, and I ignored it.  I know it was shrapnel because of the shotgun spread.  Nerfing it more has essentially eliminated it for me, even on Kris AE.  Having slower and weaker weapons across the board doesn’t really change too much I guess.

 

Looking at the new loyalty grind now, I’m going to stop caring.  I barely cared before.  That change justified spending 8m credits over the past few days on Mk.III items, including for ships I don’t yet have.  I get that you want to encourage people to buy premium, and the prices look far, far, far better than before.  I was hoping for that, and I think I even mentioned it in the 0.9.7 patch thread.  BTW, since that thread’s locked can we still talk about it considering forum rules?  I was tempted to buy a premium weapon over the weekend sale, but honestly I didn’t trust you guys enough to not change whatever I bought to uselessness.  Weapons got nerfed, but at least it looks like an across the board nerf.

 

It will take a few days to really get a feel for everything, other than the loyalty changes.  That part’s obvious.

 

I did notice one bug, an Mk.I T3 Submatter Shield is a 5.4% speed boost but the patch notes say the lowest boost is 5.5%.  I’m glad I have the option to get my Lightweight Hulls and Submatter Shields to purple in due time.  But sadly, it seems my T2 Armor Piercing missiles could soon disappear.

Well, I’ll say something that no one said about the update, and that something is positive: Now the forum has more members and is more active than ever.

SIR, you are right, The fourm is FLOODING with people, who are not EVER on the forums, actually make an account JUST to have a say in how bad or good this patch really is.

That happens for every major patch honestly.  How many of the people who joined for the weapon changes stuck around?  Now we barely remember what the weapons were like before.  Then again, the devs are focusing on the forum more with announcements about events and patches.

 

How many people who joined today came here because the game linked to the forum patch notes instead of giving patch notes in game?  Seriously, I’m trying to ask the people who joined today, not a rhetorical question.  Did the dev’s idea work?

i agree with the new inhibitor on guards well… all i can say is it needs to be reduced bad.

  1. it seems in t4 you get around 20 artifacts for each purple salvage, and if you spend its around 120 to 150 from the salvage (might be a little off on the pay part but i think its what i remember seeing)

was gonna buy the rest of the DLC i was missing this week  but decided to hold off till after this patch and i am glad i did :slight_smile: gonna see what next week brings and see if there is some fixs :slight_smile: i have faith in ya dev’s i know you can do it and fix the guards :slight_smile: (tacklers they needed a buff but honestly what they got was a bit much but i guess its do able)

Remember when they first implemented the bubble gun and everyone was flying around with it? Same thing goes here. Wait a week or two and there will be a lot less guards and frigates in general.
