Why do pings no longer create text in chat? It was very useful to see who or what someone pinged.

Wait, WHAT!? those pings were important and they even asked what we wanted out of a better ping system after we specifcally said that the ping spam is NOT A PROBLEM.

Srysly i don’t know what i should say to this Patch…

 

The Announcement of the Patch was really nice and i thought, yes that are really nice changes but after seeing what you pulled of i’m simply speechless.

 

1.) Change of Matchmaking for Groups of 2-4 Players.

I haven’t played this game for a long time so i’m just a beginner and stay at Row 4-6 (T2). I play most of the Time with two Friends who also play at this lvl. Previewsly we were matched against max T3 Ships not many but still 0-3 in each Game but now we play mostly against T3 and even T4 Ships. I mean srysly this game is nearly only fun if you can play with some friends and now you can’t even do that. That matchmaking maybe needed for Groups who played this game for a long time and know tactics how to play together. But we most of the Time just want to be in the same Match…

 

2.) Change of Upgradesystem

I’m sick of this system, it was nice as it was meantioned in the preview but how it was implemented it just sucks. The amount of loyality points needed for a upgrade is simply insane. The introduction of upgrade kits which replace the old weapons is a nice idea but i had the impression that the upgrade kits whould work on every module and not that you need one specific upgrade. Yes you changed the System you get it 100% if one drops but on the other side you need to spend money for the lower modules to even upgrade them.

 

3.) Contracts

It is nice that you thought about the old system as bad but the new system isn’t better. The amount of loyality points is much to high, alos you still need to spend money to accept contracts from other fractions. So you didn’t even change that much only made it worse to get some upgrades. I reached lvl 7 by one Fraction and could buy all blue Items for T2, after this change i got 70k loyality points with that amount i can buy 2-3 T2 Upgrades and even less on higher Tiers.

 

Sry for my english its not my motherlanguage, i hope you got the point. I don’t think i or my Friends will play this game much longer if the matchmaking stays this way.

I’m trying to wrap my head around those incredible nerf to mobile ships, to why it was done and how to work around it/counter it, so far struggling big time:

  • Huge AOE slow auras (guards) buff up to 3.2k Radius (man 6.4k diameter of the aura is insane)

 That comes in couple with Signature masking of the same range. Even if you cant run 2 of these on same Guard - get 2 of them and cover half the map with that!

  • Huge range and CD reduction buff on tacklers module

  • Increase in CD of Survival and Restoration (the ones with short cds (shield and flares)) that supposedly used to counter slow (R8 Fed implant) Not necessary nerf to efficiency of modules due to higher power of modules but huge nerf as a counters to slows

  • Nerf to speed implants

  • Nerf to some dmg modules on CovOps

  • Nerf to Emergency barrier (huge one, probably called for but not in the coupling of all the others)

  • Buff to Snipers - it is much harder to dodge disintegrator when you can’t  Afterburn and your emergency barrier on huge CD

  • Did i miss anything?

 

While every stand alone nerff/buffs are reasonable to an extend, when you combine all of them in the same time and apply to teh current game state it creates a HUGE impact on game balance, this is not “fine tuning” or fine balancing, ways that these changes affecting the game are “groundbreaking” or on magnitude of 0.9.0 / 0.8.0 patches

Honestly, this patch is substantial guys.

This patch should clarify to everyone what’s the dev propouse.

 

Lot of people was complain about how the game was become slower and about how much guards was op,skilles and game breaker.

 

 

And what did they do? A patch that makes game even more slower, even more campering based… and where guards are buffed.

 

 

Increasing range for movement inhibitors? Seriously?  I mean… seriously?

 

The only explanation for that had to be: “We are sorry, it was a programming mistake we wasn’t ment to do that”… but they already lost that train.

 

 

So,there isn’t anything can keep me on this game now… becouse even if they revert the inhibition modules buff now… well i perfectly understood about what they are trying to do. a skilless,slow,boring and n0obs friendly game.

 

And even if they will be forced to revert this change now couse of number of complaints (and i don’t think neither s.) well they ll find another way in next patches…

 

All what i can say is : Good Job! You had a good game and turned it into just another crap.

They are even larger fields than that - I have 3625m on a t4 Guard with a purple Inhibitor …

So much potential… all of it utterly wasted.

 

The HUD:

First, why do I have to have my HUD so wide? Why can’t I narrow it in so that my hull-shield bar and energy-thrust bars are closer to the centre?

 

Moreover, why is the leading marker that stupid little circle? I would much rather it be a small crosshair. I also notice you can’t change the colour of the leader marker… why not?

 

Mk’s and cost:

Put simply, this stuff is all too expensive. Acquiring Mk II modules for a ship is more costly than buying the ships themselves, and when you throw the faction costs and artifacts then at best we are going to see no change, but far more likely we’ll be seeing new players with less Mk III / Mk IV counterparts than what their equivalent previous-patch players would have had for an equivalent play time.

 

Players should be given every opportunity to level the playing field between the rookies and the pros, and slowing down and hindering efforts to get to higher Mk gear does not help that.

 

Contracts:

  1. Why are we still stuck on 3 at a time? Licence payers at least should have 5 or more!

  2. Why don’t they pay credits anymore? You have cut our income, which was already too low!

 

Matchmaking:

At least now you are telling us what ranks are in our game group, but it does nothing to enamour me to the concept. When I see that there are ranks 4 - 8 in the same game, it makes me wonder why the hell Ranks 7-8 aren’t flying with their fellow T3 rather than trolling T2.

 

I have no confidence that the return of 4-man squads will have a positive impact on the game. If anything, this will be the return of the kill-squad.

Also, I love how this patch is called “Modernization”, as it reflects all the worst aspects of the modern gaming industry!

I feel it has to be said again … back  in 0.8 days - The game had the potential to be amazing, what went wrong ? Why the change in direction with the game to this ??

I really can’t wait until the P2P alternatives to this game to come out just to see if it can stay on its legs. The way the developers are rolling they’re going to discourage new players to stay past tier 2 with grind and at the same time ruin any skill that would interest higher tier players with the speed crippling. All that’s going to be left are people that don’t know better yet or people with buyer’s remorse.

This patch isn´t too bad, it needs some real good tuning for sure but in general it is for the better I think.(The ideas behind the changes anyway)

S3 meld thumping in firefall with firecat takes a bit too much effort to be able to post about this game.

 All this changes completely finished killing counters to frigballs - mobility and bubble gun, now with couple of guards on the map you are constantly under slow effect and signature masking and Signature masking is killing gunship dmg out put big time

i realy like the new hud with coullerin n all, i do think the plasma gun crosshair gets a bit small when fired and the leading target O is a bit small to. i to was looking forword to the crafting system, but at frist glance it seams way to grindy. i have gotten one artifact ever, so in order to be sweet youd have to have buffed it alot (saw the 20ati drops pic xD) but still lots O grind, i realy miss a way to focus on a way to get a specefic item, i rly whant a mk4 plasma gun but i have to rely on a random drop at some time to get it or have 90 atifacts. i only ever fond one mk4 gun and it was a guss cannon wich i neva use, i hate that i cant sell/trade  it with another player or to another gun. you sould add the mk4 weps to the fraction contracts or somthing so you can get to stuff you wanna play with and not just hope for that random drop…that then gets lost to salvege… i simply grow old when it happens and dont feel like playing. sadly i play for epix loot and trinkring with stats and you are not giving it. i wanna be able to do Pve dalies/missions with more players not just 4…like 10-20 players vs AI assualt on star base were u do stuff like kill turrets, fighters run the blocade and fly in to destroy the core. missons thats a 100% drop chance for a epix i wanna feel mmo…not just random shooter.

 

i know to erly to rly tell about that loot…but its gota be dam sweet before ill change my mind.
