Star Conflict OBT v.0.9.7 Discussion

No, MM doesn’t work this way. There are ques, and you are positioned in the que in accordance with your rating. If there are squads they have an increased rating due to being part of a group (so they are usually not even in your tier ques, but in higher ones). As far as I am aware there are only three situations when squad gets into the fight with newbie on lower ranks, those are:

  • When all pilots of the squad are not really good at it (a lot of lost matches in a row)
  • When the newbie gets himself a new ship with military weapons+ equipped, he is having a high ELO/won 8+ matches in row
  • When there are very few people in that que

Hey, if you don’t want to hear what’s REALLY going on with the MM queues, that’s your problem, we’re here to tell the truth, we’re not fooling anybody.

Also, explain to me how I (with roughly 1500 rating) queue for a T3 match (R8/9 ships), get grouped with T2/T1 pilots with less than 1200 rating while the other team gets an average of 1300 rating pilots across the board with the occasional (but very rare) 1200-ish? Does the game think that the 1500 pilot will just carry their entire team? Does the game think this ONE pilot will perform miracles rivaling with some deity to win the game?.. What gives? What’s wrong with this picture?

You just made me wonder about something oryngton…Could a single R14/15 take on 12 R1’s? xD

No. Too much firepower. Though it depends on which ship is used.

Antibus: First thing you really must fix is make it completely impossible to queue with T1 and T2 ships in T4 games!

What we play every night is same guys over and over again in either a 3v3, 4v4 or 6v6 with 5 minute waiting times and it all depends on who will get the worse pug in the game - whoever gets the T2, or even the T1 guy in the game that is completely worthless to the team, will lose.

It is happening all the time:

Someone that is still new to the game is playing his federation tackler line, and has his T2, T3 and T4 tackler in lineup, with maybe 400 games played experience and 900 dsr. And he gets put on our team in a 6v6 game. Get 2 guys like that , and of course you are outnumbered all the time, there is no chance to win against 6 decent players, it’s not a 6v6, ussualy it’s more like 3v5, 4v6 or sometimes it’s as bad as a 3v6 to be completely honest.

Make impossible to queue higher tiers if you have weaker ships in your line. This would filter out all the new players that make the mistakes and are thinking they can pull their weight in higher tiered games.

You must fix this. This is the biggest problem in the game and it is completely ruining it. It is so simple. Just don’t allow to start queue with such a ship setup, just throw one of those matchmaking errors! And give explanation to players, that all ships need to be of same tiers or  similar ranks to enter the game, e.g, when you want to queue up with R11, R9 and R6 ship: “the following ships are invalid for your queue-R10” with tendency towards lower tiers, so if you have only 1 higher tiered ship you are forced to stay in lower tier/queue. _You cannot seriously expect someone to be competitive with his first ever bought R7 T3 or R10 T4 ship. _Don’t let him queue up if his hangar isn’t fully ready, just make some kind of a system for this.

Also make this work for squads: if someone squads with T4 and a guy with T1 or T2, squad cannot enter the game. This IS happening. Do not let this happen. Make it foolproof: Matchmaking error! Player “xyz” has a problem: invalid ship tiers for conflict!

Agree.

Arranging battles considering players rating is an epic fail…

Those ratings means nothing to me coz they just talk abot how strongs are the teams u’ve been matched in time by time. I can fly with poor teams and collectpoor stats or i could be matched with ESB and collect superduper stats

This may be interesting.

Uh oh, he saw it! Quickly, phase the electrons where no dev dares tread.

So far there’s 39 outstanding issues and only 3 verified as a problem. But it was only day 1.

Also on topic, yetserday/today me and a NASA guy [we were T4/T3] ended up against a t5 and… a T1 through and through.

You just made me wonder about something oryngton…Could a single R14/15 take on 12 R1’s? xD

A CovOps might be able to.

A CovOps might be able to.

Nuke + SD doesn’t count.

A CovOps might be able to.

A cov ops would get raped by tacklers I think.

Perhabs an engineer/guard?

And you have to survive ofcourse. And it would be in a realistic match.

But I think a 12 v 1 scenario is impossible to win if they got the perfect counter to your set up.(Or jerciho LRF…I think 12 of those would kill everything…)

If a player wants to fight - he can go in any fight he wants. Even if it’s with T4 while he’s on T1. We may consider some notification, but blocking it completely… why?

Because it’s detrimental to himself?

Most probably some of those pilots are using military\experimental weapons, are in squad and have won a couple of matches before. As they were considered to be more powerful by the system (for the que they were in), they were moved into the next que - so that they wouldn’t topple the newbies in that que.

Pure T1 pilots couldn’t get into higher que - they stay in the first one. More likely is that they put a T2 in their line up.

You just made me wonder about something oryngton…Could a single R14/15 take on 12 R1’s? xD

It’s not that hard to chech in Custom Battle

If I had 12 friends or 12 clones of myself it would be easy yes. But since I seem to lack both, I can’t :frowning:

If a player wants to fight - he can go in any fight he wants. Even if it T4. We may consider some notification, but blocking it completely… why?

Because it is ruining the game.

Why would he even want to be there in the first place?

Didn’t Error say once that T4+ is where the real game and corp battles happen with the best players? I am yet to see that happen. Now it is a lottery of who will get the bad pug and be handicapped, losing the game, your w/l ratio and your dsr only because you got a bad player with xxxx ships and lack of any skill whatsoever in your team, which shouldn’t belong there and got there by mistake. Sounds like fun? Seriously, even bots in t5 perform a lot better than these players. Why put someone completely new to the game, that doesn’t know the basic game rules in this elite player games?  Why should you allow new players that don’t even know the basic matchmaking rules to join these 4v4 or 8v8 games with 5 minute waiting times against best pilots in the game? You need to educate new players more on how tiers and matchmaking works.

It is not fun for them, and it is not fun for us because they are not pulling their weight and draining the team down. We are better off playing 3v3 than having a useless teammate on our team. It’s whoever gets the bad pug, loses the game.

It doesn’t make sense to join a top tier game if you don’t even have 3 or 4 top tier ships. You cannot expect to compete in a T2 against T4 and T5 players (because T5 gets very often in T4), even a good player cannot compete with a ship 2 or 3 tiers lower, let alone a new one!

You would be making everyone a big favor if you would ban low tier ships in higher tiers, they are not serving any purpose there.

So ESB, NASA and Nova go to T3 (because this is the last place in the game you can still get a normal match on occasion without 5min waiting times) and than people complain we are too OP and than you nerf the squad sizes, instead of fixing matchmaking and crazy tier jumping with T1 going to T5 games in squads. GG.

Also on topic, yetserday/today me and a NASA guy [we were T4/T3] ended up against a t5 and… a T1 through and through.

T1 was in squad with T5. That simple. The pilot chose to be there himself.

As for you - as you were in a squad your, based on your squad rating MM moved you in the upper que.

The fun times with 1 v 1 T5 vs a guy with 1 T5, and 3 T1/T2 in realistic…So easy ^.^

His fault for doing that, but easy heh.

Nuke + SD doesn’t count.

Who needs that stuff anyway

With R13 Empire you can use Orion quite often, dont forget the increased speed on later tiers.

A cov ops would get raped by tacklers I think.

Perhabs an engineer/guard?

Does T1 ships have any slowing effects at all?

Also I noticed and that is NEW: Adaptive Camo breaks now target painter and slow effects!

Is that intended?

Adaptive camo don’t break those for me, I am still able to see the beam.(But effect might be gone, but the graphic is still there)

And yes, t1 got the speed debuff as well as TP.

If a player wants to fight - he can go in any fight he wants. Even if it’s with T4 while he’s on T1. We may consider some notification, but blocking it completely… why?

In a case where a pure T4 pilot squads up with a pure T1 pilot [meaning that the ships they have docked and ready are all T1], it causes a problem for the team that they end up on when they enter battle. As far as I remember, there is a rather large stats gap between T1 and say T3 [pretending that this T4 and T1 squad made it into a T3 fight]. T3 could take on the T4, but a T1 on the team? You might as well have had a disconnector on your team. Sure if he had a T4 and T1 ship in the lineup, he could use the T1 until he realizes he needs to switch to finish the mission, but a pure T1 can’t switch to a stronger ship should the need arise, and shouldn’t be squadding up with a T4 for a high tier match.

T1 was in squad with T5. That simple. The pilot chose to be there himself.

As for you - as you were in a squad your, based on your squad rating MM moved you in the upper que.

I know he chose to be there himself, but say it were a 10vs10, that T1 just let down 8 other players.

And I’ll note, just for the record, I wasn’t in a squad.
