Hmm… Might refit my Command for that, then…

 

Its all about tactics. I’m a RTS gamer at heart. I know the weaknesses and strengths of all the ships. A good tactician notes what he has, his team and formulates a good plan.

it’s ‘4 times less effective’ whatever that means.

 

the change in reticle color is one factor, but it’s also doesn’t lock as quickly and in the same radius any more.

 

and the problem here is that as i speculated before, gun convergence is calculated from that ‘lock’ to the reticle… so positrons now shoot wildly with random spread unless the target is pretty much standing still…

 

My theory: Many Corps lost members or are inactive (like WPK) due to the patches which are screwing the community with bad layouts and broken balances.

Yep. Griefing the players is the only reasonable explanation. At least I cannot come up with another.

And ppl complain about frigballs, i’ve never seen a group of more than 2 guards moving together, but i’ve seen a LOT of covertballs moving to one place and other killing anything in their paths.

 

or ecm+covert balls? lol… add an engineer for instant win. maybe 1 command and 1 disintegrator LRF.

testing the changes in PVE. Changes I have found:

 

The arrows indicating what side you are moving towards are now black, and nearly invisisble.

Aiming reticule red.white and nearly invisisble in a lot of situations

The Punisher(Boss) now has an icon on radar

 

 

-still waiting for a purple from purple PVE spot…you sure they didn’t reduce it’s chance by 100%?-

Not the reticule itself, but the Automatic weapon guidance - it is now 4 times weaker.

This would require players to aim better, and also would present itself while firing at max weapon range (but it is mostly notable only on 2 kinds of weapons - Gauss and Positron Cannon). On all the other weapons this change is almost unnoticeable.

Wait. I never noticed the Gauss having any autoaim and I use it all the time…

I can tell you its absolutely not “unnoticeable”!

In fact I cant hit an Inty with assault rails anymore. Or did you ninja-tweak that weapon, too?

Srsly, Try assault rails, I cant hit anything smaller than a frigate with it. 

Or its the lag, Idk. but I NEVER EVER had such a hard time to hit ANYTHING! 

In fact it seems that im not the only player who cant hit anymore, i ran away in my tiger-m from 4 Inties… they werent able to hit me… and one of them was in shrapnel range. 

Also, i notice strange behavior of the rapid rails, at a specific range (very close) both shots go sideways.

 

Have you really tested that patch? Why cant you just stop “improving things” that absolutely nobody complained about? 

 

In all, thats it. The mechanic is now that broken that I refuse to play. Can go LRF rite now, thats all. In fact thats BORING!  

I really hope you fix it fast!

So are you saying to players to “toughen up” and actually make them “try.” Mother of god, you are now a bad as5. +1 to that. 

 

There was a MASSIVE thread about HUD changes, are you considering to make them into a reality soon?

In fairness, we DID ask for the game to be more skill-based… Idk how bad it really is until I login in a couple hours (still at work).

Only slow turrets have auto-aim, i.e. Positron Cannon, Heavy Blaster and Coil Mortar.

i haven’t tried gauss on a ‘non-lag’ server yet… its even worse than usual currently… and the red reticule doesn’t help much in gauging the difference…

 

but from my tests with the positron, it now fails to converge properly on targets in 70% of situations, leaving it with extremely sub-par dps, except vs frigs that are barely dodging… part of this is probably lag… the rest of it is simply bad design… i mean, you can aim perfectly at interceptors/fighters, and none of the beams will hit at 4-5km simply due to spread… 80% of the time… and if you aim for the reticule, as i said, im most cases that doesn’t work due to the ‘skipping’ effect of the cursor over it, and the fact that people rarely fly in a straight line… hence convergence is a major issue on positrons now.

 

which leads me to this: you should take lag into consideration when designing game changes… which includes things like interpolation and maximum unit speed, etc…

 

also, mortars are still broken and fail to fire half the time…

 

therefore leaving frigs with no viable weapon options… period…

i also found this peculiar… i had to aim WAY in front of the lead marker, more than i usually have to… could not hit anything worth a damn…

 

and this is my problem with positrons… the same thing happens… you have to aim in front of the lead marker to hit them… but then convergence is not calculated… and none of the beams will hit due to spread…

 

but if you aim at the lead marker with positron (with lag), the shot will fall behind the target… so it’s a no-win situation… i hope you live close to the RU/EU servers… i don’t…

Actually, is there any option to disable the reticule at all? Its just confusing atm. Still im good enough with some weapons to predict the shots.
