I hate how the plasma gun is now completely useless…I miss 90% of the shots, where as before I could most of my shots.
Even at 500m distance and 0.4 spread most miss against a fighter…
It shoots everywhere except for the center of the crosshair. This has nothing to do with latency or anything. I can follow people flying in a straight line and not hit them for minutes.
Same goes for shrapnel with its extreme spread that does pathetic damage if you don’t ram your target.
Compare this to the pulse laser, which I used to hate prior to the last patch, because it simply wouldn’t hit small ships nearly enough and it does amazing damage compared to the other guns.
And I guess this is what’s actually wrong with the guns. Right now there is so much randomness in gun behavior that I don’t buy this “skill” argument for one second.

Building your ship in a proper way is also an aspect of the skill. As is knowledge how to minimize the impact of spread though gameplay.
I’ve been through a lot of the patches with this game, and none of them were really that bad. But now, I can’t play at all. I feel entirely useless. I get frustrated. I don’t want to play a game that makes me frustrated. Shots that used to be perfect now miss most of the time. I would MUCH rather have 80% of my shots connect and do less damage, than have only 20% of my shots hit with large damage. This one ruined it for me.
Weapons
Automatic weapon guidance is now 4 times weaker
What this now means:
You can’t hit anything.
Sure, you can argue skill, but the skill required to master predicting where a ship will go can more easily be trumped by the lesser skill required to simply move a ship to dodge a bullet.
It used to require skill to keep your cross-hair in-line with the guidance system, and if you were successful you were rewarded with a hit. Now even if you are successful, you still will miss. My point here is that if you are not rewarded for using the guidance system, then it is simply a distraction. Removing it altogether would be a better decision than leaving in a weaker version.
Lasers are now used by everyone, since they are the only thing accurate.
Interceptors are once again the king.
They are now MUCH harder to hit, since every weapon (except lasers) has spread, the weapons are already inaccurate. This isn’t even taking into account bullet travel speed. Now they are not only inaccurate, but you have a guidance system that isn’t useful. With interceptors being so small, they are even HARDER to hit.
Because interceptors are primarily close range, they don’t even need the weapon guidance. So they are more often used because you just need to get close range and hit your target.
I understand in your standard FPS game you don’t have weapon guidance, but you also have bullets that travel much faster than the ones in this game. Also the dimensions are much different in standard FPS games if you are on the ground, your target is either going in two directions: Left or right. In space, they can go up, down, left, right, diagonally, forwards, backwards, ANY direction at ANY second making your smallest prediction entirely inaccurate.
In regards to jet/fighter plane FPS without guidance systems, you once again have a different system. Your guns don’t over heat, and have tracers. So you can shoot at the other fighter and slowly adjust your cross-hair until it connects. You can’t do that in Star Conflict because your gun will over heat before you can re-align it while shooting. This is why the guidance system that was accurate worked in Star Conflict.

You’ve made your attitude very clear, but this is a new low. This is one step short of calling everyone not satisfied with how the game works right now a moron.

Are you disagreeing with anything I posted, or just want to throw around random insults? I certainly did nothing of the sort, I merely pointed out that your claim of somehow magically uncontrollable spread that magically makes skill inefficient is ridiculous.

I met Luckyo in one battle today (that I didn’t leave because of lag) and his damage output was the fourth lowest on his team. So don’t take him too seriously tbh…
Outfitting ships… before ECM nerf it was the mandatory controlling effect reduction module, now it’s mandatory spread reduction.
Knowledge of how to minimize the spread… you mean geometry. Yes I know geometry. Shoot at the side with the largest profile and get close. This is a major change in balance as it favors fast, agile ship. A lot.

I already have juggernaut title so I can focus on other things. Like score.
P.S. I hear lasering enemy frigs entire game gives you most damage. And least score :good:
But hey, you found one of two things I generally do suck at in games. Total damage and total healing done to others. Can’t do either very well on recon :bomber:
So I have to make do with most kills, most score and most caps and other similar things. But that’s okay, I manage.

Then why are you talking about spread that somehow makes skill argument void?

You had 4 kills and a whooping 2 damage assists in that game, which you lost. I’ll spare you my score.
It is relevant because you keep telling everyone how skilled you are at hitting Internet spaceships - just you don’t seem to do a lot of hitting…

Last night i had a 12v12 game where betatrash was top of the table with 30% more efficiency points then 2d place on, my squad hardly hit a mid table that game, so what? next 3 games we carried our team on our back.

I tend to have no kills and no assists and have the highest score sometimes [obviously detonation], but still.
And luckyo does have a big mouth, but so seems everyone else here. But everyone has compained about the aiming enough, so instead of continuously repeating the same thing for this patchweek, focus on getting used to that aiming because as far as we know, it’s here to stay. And if it sn’t you can be happy in the fact that you are more skilled and will still be able to shoot things no matter what they do.
But more importantly, you are bad words for disconnecting from games because of lag. If your ship is there, support your team however you can. I don’t care if your systems are fried, you can still be a decoy at least.

Was that one of those games where I get an awful team and it melts in just a couple of minutes? Most of my losses look like screenshot below in terms of score, so I find your claims strange without the other facts following it.
Well, I can hit, but my hit rate has gone so low with plasma gun my rockets are actually better to shoot with.
Rockets are obviously “better to shoot with”, they have more damage, proximity detonator and can be fired in 360/360 around the ship. That’s why you only get a limited amount of them.
I fly with shrapnel, it works. Other weapons are PvE only for me.
And lasers have always been junk imho.
Pulse lasers on Cov Ops (expecially on cov ops with 20% modules effect increase) works pretty good actually. And that has nothing to do with aim… [honestly all those people around with pulse lasers are funny… they think you don’t need to aim with lasers… and offcourse they just sucks].
