trueâŚor mabye they were just having a bad day,Â
Look at the scores, they killed more, and had more âcapturesâ. My guess in the randoms went to separate beacons and got more beacons for the team but fewer as a team?
right sorry - moaning time from me
Â
taking a break after a dozen games to post some pictures here and share my conspiracy theories on this thread
Â

Â
Out of 12 games, only 2 had any semblance of normalcy in terms of fleet composition. The rest were Frigate âWarsâ (not all of them balled up). Side-note - that NOVA squad in the above post ⌠they were in those 2 games where it didnât bog down to a frig war where both sides used a balanced 3 man setup. But then again both games against them was realistic mode⌠still. Jerry Torp screenie in bottom left of that montage - there were more frigs hiding behind them rocks but didnât show coz no one had them on sensors I think.
Â

Â
12 minute combat recon game = ~4k synergy
Â
seriously just WOW.
Â
But more interesting than that is how scores now look like how they did back in Immortal Frigball era of SCon. If I hadnât played in that game - top 3 players on Blue wouldâve scored exactly 4 (FOUR) Kills between them in 12 frikkin minutes.
Â

Â
So here are my 2 theories
Â
Â
Â
My average Synergy gain flying R8 / 9 before frigwars was ~10k per SHIP (thatâs cap with bonuses)
NOW⌠my average is 4000 synergy per GAME. If a ship needed 120k syn before to rank up - it wouldâve taken me about a dozen games. Now it got doubled (or more).
Which also means if things stay the way they are, progression rate just got halved.
Â
If overall buff on HP in last patch + nerfing anti-heal countermeasures is part of some fiendishly clever masterplan by Gaijin to slow progression by even more - then thatâs a pretty slick move. Because that is exactly whatâs happening whether intentional or not. When things donât die - you get no synergy.
@Kine> Theory #3: A mix of discovery of power of torpedo and mortar in good hands, the massive speed and survivability buff for engineers and massive speed and survivability nerf for ints and overnerfing of singularity did itâs work. Frigballs are back in force.
Â
I.e. not a single factor, but everything together.
<---- :Grumpy: from Synergy Withdrawal Syndrome âŚ

Â
Dude⌠offcourse they scoared more kills⌠we had erricâŚ
Â
Anyway honestly they just sucked. Donât know why , but that was.

I got this just now. I also got a Fear Me on this match with a Kris AE. I was even getting dangerous, going <1500m from the enemy captain while he was behind a wall and surrounded by his team. Iâd turn on the metastable the instant one guy would start hitting me, and hit the Ion Emitter on the cap just to troll. I wanted a different ship but didnât want to backspace suicide. No one really wanted to rush the captain even though we had three times the kills on our side. Those assists are a mix of debuf and damage. I wonder if part of the equation for synergy counts module usage, attacking/defending objectives, and other things. Pure âshoot 'em upâ kills donât really show âsynergyâ with a ship.
Synergy in combat recon has taken a nosedive with everyone playing immortal frigates, as synergy is based on score (or more specifically based on experience which is partially based on score). Other modes are suffering from the same problem, with point yields reduced significantly across most game modes, but itâs nowhere near as bad as CR.
If you look close, my scoreâs low, and down near the bottom, yet I still got a lot of synergy. I used modules and ship specific features a lot which is what I think helped.

Itâs also linked to some of your other actions, such as medal gaining, assists and so on.

Â
I donât mind the T4 vs T3 MM issues. But 8 minutes = 780 Synergy come the F on.
To be fair, you/your team(we know MM matters more) didnât do so well. But as a human being, WTF?
donât be mad. itâs only kipps⌠he flies ecm, then squad focuses target. easy kills. lamest tactic ever used on corp squads in a video game.
Â
plus i owned that dude on a recon without even using mines, just military shrapnel and a complete mk1 fit.
Â
but i agree on efficiency: it is broken⌠it awards stupid things like surviving with 15% hull and microwarping⌠keep doing it and you can efficiency farm basically. so many medals are farmable. the system, from a design perspective is majorly flawed.
Â
in fact, i can do exactly what is required to win a battle. letâs say engineer, one game i had 1-2 kills and 10-20 assists, but got some pathetic eff/synergy gain because i didnât get any caps or many medals⌠but without me as the only engi supporting each beacon⌠it would have been an instant loss. as far as iâm concerned that should have netted among the top scores.
yes,yes you are such a badass lol
lmao. it was an obvious joke aimed at ecms, not kipps.
Â
one kill this day or another isnât going to prove anything ;p
Peeps who wanted to unlock Engineers spent the last few weeks ranking up LRFs and now theyâre all done and more Engineers / Frigs are flying about. And since they need to rank those up too - everyone is flying them in every game and Frig War is a byproduct of the new progression system. Explains the large number of LRFs flying full force last patches followed by the sudden saturation of Engineers in itâs place now.
Â
Thereâs also a surge in the number of Jericho LRFs, which could be patch-related (thanks to the torpedoâs immunity) or progression-related. Some players in higher tiers might be unlocking the T4 guards via the branch from the LRF line instead of going through the guard line (which is much longer).
yes,yes you are such a badass lol
So whatâs your view on a squad suiciding once the captain dies in Combat Recon?
Â
Badass, right? Just so youâre not alone, Iâve seen others do it too.
unlocking the T4 guards via the branch from the LRF line instead of going through the guard line
<â doing just that :snowgirl:
because i am supposed to turn the game around alone against the whole enemy team right?
