Guys! Good news! I found an Old Thread relating to this very subject in which I made about bots!
[http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/21106-bots-revamped/?hl=revamped](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/21106-bots-revamped/?hl=revamped)
I think it could help this discussion.
yes I have seen bots before in matches but not in these numbers and in every match even if it is a 10v10.
Bots do NOT (compared to human players):
get tired
get distracted
get hungry or thirsty
have to pee …
learn from mistakes
seem to use cover (like rocks or structures) in the game
think of the overall strategy/tactic of the game or current situation of the game
get physiologically influenced by visual and audio effects of the game
communicate with human players
I see bots as temporary workaround, we get more people , we will have less bots, but for now i see nothing wrong with them, bots don’t diminish “fun” in games, at least for me, plus, i believe more targets will let weaker players to improve faster, at least flying/aiming skill
At this point i wouldn’t even mind having 1vBots games in T4/T5 games in my time slot, and make them all extra Hard ion gunships, so it is very tough to fight. Still better than a PvE.
I wasn’t arguing about fun or not fun in PvP I was arguing about that PvP is supposed to be human players only. And for those (including me) who still like to get better and learn and don’t have seen it all in several thousand battles over the past year, diminishes the learning effect and to test yourself against other people that are in the same boat.
So was I better or not, made the change in ships build a difference or different weapon any difference. But with bots just flying towards you without the human behavior/skill . So I don’t know now. And I don’t know if that prepares someone (somewhat) for Sector Conquest where you have no bots.
And how long is this temporary? For me it looks like we would “need” to have this temporary measure for at lest 6 months.
I agree for T4/T5 or matches that would be less than 4v4 bots make sense, temporary. So that people can fly there and don’t have to rely on boring PvE.
Why keep people saying that? Have you even read what I wrote? So again and this time READ!
The last time I repeat myself. What are 15 kills worth if most of the dead enemies were bots?!
And NO I didn’t hunt only bots but with half bots in each team and just stupid flying of them, that is what happens.
What are 15 kills worth if most of them were pugs with virtually no skill who are nowhere near capable of taking you on?
Also…

…you are against Bots, right?

Nor do most Pugs…

Nor do the Pugs.

Yup, this is one of the reasons I hate flying with Pugs.

Most 12v12 games, I’m the only one talking. Pugs do not communicate.
What point were you trying to make again?

Because bots don’t have stats or a profile. So did I just kill someone with 100 battles 5 times or someone with 5000 battles and/or an SR much higher than mine. It is a bit of a measurement if I’m doing/getting better or the change I made to the ship made a difference or not.

Bots are not equal to humans. Yes some humans seem to behave the same way as bots but at some point most of the humans change or learn over time, bots don’t.
I made my point and voiced my opinion. So it is up to the devs what they do or don’t do with the opinion and comments of a players.
All these discussions about the BOTS… I can repeat one of my old sayings … ALL BOTS are NOT created EQUAL
Which brings up one or two points that may or may not have been changed with the reintroduction of BOTS
1. They do or do they not count in your total ships destroyed counters ( the number showing in your profile) ?
2. Do they count towards your SR rating… like when you are playing against actual players ?
What I do know is that they count towards efficency points and medals during the game.
They do appear to count toward medals and award xp like actual players.

yes they do count towards efficiency, destroyed ships. So basically in the stats/score counted as a human player.
About SR (aka DSR) I’m not sure because bots don’t show any SR (anymore) and SR of the killed enemy is important on how many SR rating points you get for a kill. You get more SR rating when you kill someone with higher SR than you. Of course if you die a lot that negates kills to a point that your SR drops.
Maybe Antibus can shed some light on SR calculation with bot kills (and be killed by a bot)?
Death by bot don’t lower your SR if that’s what you are asking.
Perhaps the bots really are intended as preys for the less skilled players so they can get some kills to their name and don’t feel like the game is too hard.
So far I have only had 1 bot per team in my games, and the games felt somewhat faster and more random and chaotic.

This is why I like having bots in game atm. To be honest the gameplay was getting a little stale. When the population can support 8v8 and 10v10 games on a regular basis then sure take them out. Until then they add faster paced gameplay which is never a bad thing. People get bored of slow paced frigballing pretty quickly I’ve found.

Bot kills/deaths should be counted towards the SR no matter if it lowers your SR because of being too stupid or bad luck or increases your SR because the just run in your weapons fire. It still takes effort that should be honored both ways. Otherwise you have even less learning effect.
Make no mistake the bots don’t make you win or lose more as MM mechanic usually “compensates” for win and loss streak.

Did they change it? last night I had 8v8 were half were bots. also in 10v10 had at least 2 bots on each side.
6v6 I had 3 bots on each team.

I don’t know if there was a change. You are correct though. Last night most games had at least 3 bots.
i think for now as a temporary fix the bots are good. when the game is released and the player base is higher then there will be no need for them
So now we see what we get synergy for. And buff assists seem to not award any. Why is that?

they give 7 per assist in pve. Not tested in pvp
Are you sure? It does not show up in the bottom right corner for me.
All right, so it works pretty simple - when your license expires and you enter the hanger, you will see a notification window telling you about the discount and allowing you to buy it.
If you close the window - the offer ends.
That one did not work for me. Logged out yesterday with at least one hour of license remaining - logged in today, got the daily login reward window, the event window, but nothing concerning license expiration and therefore nothing about a discount. Or do you have to be online at the time the license expires in order to get an offer?
I didn’t receive any notification. And the license expires just before or around the time when the game/servers were patched. How much is the discount anyway?
I’ve only encountered 2 battles where the bot was an issue.
1 combat recon. Our bot spawned in a fighter, the enemy bot spawned in a guard.
Our bot suicided into the enemy team at twice the rate that their bot suicided into ours (because of fly speed) and their team won.
- Detonation. Our bot was a guard and it was trying to pick up the bomb. I grabbed it real quick before he did but had he gotten it, he would just be a slow, flying delivery man.
Well the bots have been reduced to per team. I don’t know why they keep them in bigger teams as they won’t make a positive difference.
What I like about this patch is that I can now see from a ship if the equipment I want to put on it is on another ship (with maybe higher Mk) so I can still it from there if I don’t need it there…
