Star Conflict OBT v. 0.9.0 Discussion

I have an expectation of people that play badly not surviving. If people playing badly survive, there’s little interest in learning and we get healing retardedness of 0.8.0 all over again, where people flew in straight lines.

If you outplay someone’s int that is specced for pure speed so much that you land three full  glancing hits with quad gun singularity, you deserve that kill. Period.

The problem is, even an inty fitted for tank will still die in 3 hits to the singularity cannon.

also, FTFY

Inty fitted for a frigate with frigate speeds dies to anti frigate weapon fast. News at 11. Next strawman please.

Below you can find a comprehensive and full list of things that interceptor built for a tank doesn’t die fast to:

Crash damage.

Inty fitted for tank dies to people looking at it funny. Next strawman please.

lolwut, you are so ignorant it’s not even funny.

It’s not generally three shots from one ship, you may already have some damage and you’re not running scared begging for an engineer.  A double team from two fighters could do it in less than a second along with a missile.  All you have to do is be looking somewhere else.  Maybe you’re used to 4v4 matches, but in a 10v10 beacon hunt you can’t pay attention to each and every ship unless you just stay far back and be ineffective.

Flank the whole enemy team with a Reaper :smiley: and ramme the other guards :smiley:

The new way to play guard xD

T3 here

 I fly Sai(Pirate feds recon) and Spirit (Jer prem ECM) in T3 and i can not remember when was a lat time i actually got killed by a singularity canon, even while stasised its mostly rail-guns/missiles in a death recap, even saying that you can not maintaining attention regarding every enemy around you (maybe you shouldn’t be there in a first place) if you keep moving and dodging at your maximum speeds, it night impossible to hit you with singularity canon from the side. In a same time i do fly a command with a bubble gun, only interceptors i kill with this gun are the xxxx ones that fly straight into my face and do not start dodging after 2 projectiles already hit them, those have no rights to complain about sing canon, not a smallest one. If i encounter some one like Zeik or Mustachio on they interceptors while i have bubble gun, it is easier to self destruct than try to hit them.

Multiplayer is where it actually gets worse.  It’s in beacon hunt with 15 players within 3000m of you that you’ll get blindsided and not even

you missed my point. what i was trying to convey is that frigates are not the only thing dying by a handful of shots. other ships too

so interceptor dead by 5 shots = normal

but frigate dead by 6 shots = OP ?

fighters die by about the same number of shots too (against certain weapons)

so all in all everyone is vulnerable about evenly

Now - adjust your expectation on how game modes are played.

for eg. mass zerging of newly activated beacons = people die; so why continue to do it

are there not alternative approaches to a single beacon game ?

The real issue with Singularity is that it’s killing ships it’s not meant to ie. other fighters and interceptors.

@ Kostyan - you can kill inties with singularity, even good pilots.

  • multiple shooters vs 1 ship

  • close range

  • debuffs

  • multiple angles

it’s volume spam - the space around you is just filled with bubbles there is very little room to maneuver. and since it doesn’t take much to kill you, several small mistakes in quick succession = dead inty.

Frigates are not supposed to sacrifice mobility for better tanking?

Frigates are not supposed to sacrifice mobility for better tanking?

Only way you can tank bubbles is with mobility though. Vicious circle. :wink:

That why I’m playing my Reaper as a Heavy Flanker instead of as a guard.

Aren’t tacklers supposed to tackle interceptors …?

Classes and roles are a mess now. Frigates vs bubbles = Tackler vs Inties I suppose

For what it’s worth, Frigates aren’t tanking ships anymore but more accurately Auxiliary vessels

Engineer = Heals

Guard = Anti-Interceptor

LRFs = Anti-Frigate

Fighters = Anti-Frigate

fits well with the theme … maybe

the one ship class frigates dont have a specialist for seems to be their bane.

most of the time good pilots will not put them self in a positions like that, they will break and disengage earlier if there is no need to stay till the death, but if they did it is not a singularity canon problem it is pilots mistake for overextending, don’t you think.

Where are the anti-fighters?

Where are the anti-fighters?

Good interceptors are a nightmare to deal with in a fighter.

That why I’m playing my Reaper as a Heavy Flanker instead of as a guard.

Oh, man… My ECM would love to run alongside that. Course, when xxxx hits the fan, I’ll just gtfo.

well y’know sometimes our decision making priorities are put out of whack due to this thing they call objectives mixed in with bad team mates … :stuck_out_tongue:

The fact is, if you look at the weapon’s spot, you will see that the Reaper can’t free aim behind it or in it back angle.

But it have a really good Front angle, making it really interresting for flanking engage (Mortar + Torpedo aka wall of pain)

The term “Guard” is not really good, Assault Frigate is more accurate with the new weapons system. (While “Immortal b**tf**ker” was the most accurate name before the 0.9.0).

Because, when they are in your back, you gonna feel it :smiley:
