What’s your highest Rank and Tier ship? Besides the Phobos arua? And how many ships in your line up or do you have picked

? I have Rank 12 in two factions and 11 in one. If I play tier two the same happens to me, my que placing is very high and I have to adjust my ship ranks. I still might get T4 because of my rank in my factions, cause MM views me as a T4 player.

Obviously my t2’s if i flew the phobos -.-

In that particular instance fox-m, machete-s, templar-s

Before th patch if i wanted t3, desert eagle, katana ae, ira deus, wolf-mk2

/set cl_showMmQueueinfo 2 Use this chat command to see where you are being queued, the only time I saw funny match making was right after the patch and when I tried queuing for a T2 match. So do you have T3 ships and implants?

The way I see MM working now is it looks at what rank you are in the main factions, rank of ships brought into battle and that if you have rank 7,8 or 9 implants that MM thinks you should be at a higher level and not at T2 picking on pilots not at your skill level.   :good:

I hope it works out for you look me up in game sometime and ill help you with those T4’s that are picking on T2’s.

Ok I’ve edited this post like 5 times now I need to sleep.

As for the changes in the reputation system:

Please note that the maximum reputation is credited, if you are involved in a fight on the ship, whose rank is close to your own. This has been made in order to prevent farming of new players.

If you want to prevent new players from being farmed you should make tier 1 last longer. Make the rep needed for tier 2 larger. Or make the incentive for NEW players to stay at tier 1 larger, for example:

Give them a 7 week license that is ONLY effective in tier 1.

Sounds like a solution to me

That’s why they lowered the rep and loyalty gains in the past couple of patches. To make leveling longer and more of a grind. Just made it too much of a grind I think though.

Im talking about the rep needed to get to tier 2 To prevent new players from being farmed at tier 2. Im not talking about the reduced rep gained a higher tiers. Still I think that the reduced rep gain from patch 0.7.11 was a very good thing. Because it was going to fast before. But right now it is broken as ‘error’ has said. They wanted to make it that you cant level a subfaction to rank 12 in tier 2, but they made a mistake that the reduced rep gain applied to all subfactions instead. They said there are going to fix that.

@tactical wizard

I was happily grinding for t3 gear(loyalty and credits) while playing with my bf at t2 tho i got rank 9 in almost every main faction (empire needs a few more points but i cant be arsed to endure that)

There is far too much community pressure for them to not do anything, relax and they will most likely fix it. And for those who dont think they will, well, we’ll just keep pressuring, right? Hahah - but i will admit, the matchmaking seems to be better that before… im only getting tier 2 in my tier 1 games now!

Cant comment on the loot etc, didnt really watch for that, im still making money on matches, sooooo…

OK here’s my opinion on the new patch. At first I was pissed just like everyone else, but after a day the MM part of patch is GETTING better. It  just took time to gather enough information. The whole “I’m matched up with a T4 in my T3 game”, isn’t that bad if your suppose to be at that T3 level. Yes when you first start off in T3 it’s going to be tough till you get your implants, but if you have a T4 in there it’s most likely ONLY a rank 10 T4 not a rank 11 or 12. Remember each tier has a basic ship and the other two ships in that tier are your sub-faction ships for each race. Raid and Tech’s ships for Jerico faction for example.

I still don’t like the whole Reputation and loyalty gains part of the last 2 patches and still think something needs to be done in that department. I would like to see rep and loyalty gains after each game, but not as much as before the patches. Another thought might be giving premium accounts more bonuses now that you are suppose to be able to squad up with 4 people without it. I would pay for that.

Like some people have said its a it’s still a beta, any gains you are getting now are going to be a bonus over the new players still yet to come to the beta and once it goes live.

So, if i have rank 9 with Federation, im not allowed to play anything expept T3 battles? And if i try to queue with 3 T2 ships matchmaking will still place me in T3 to “prevent farming”?

This is stupid. Maybe i dont want to play T3? I want have fun and crazy gunfights in T2 where i wont be punished by repair costs for going into the heat of battle and dieing few times. And i had this fun. Untill that patch. Now its gone. Im either forced to be dominated mt T3 interceptor while piloting a T2 one. Or go with my T3 ships and have this stupid passive gameplay, afraidng to die, backing off every time, sticking to regen firgates. Boring. Im not an imba empire player, and dont have their super-duper-best-tanky-dps ships to go into combat at T3.

But i got this already. Devs in this game really love to force their player to do something instead of giving them a choice. Like with loot and ship costs, like with loyality (u want some blue stuff? go on and try to earn that with our new super-grind loyality. haha! but dont worry, u can always buy a premium equivalent, quickly, easly, with real money ofc)

Again, if they wanted to prevent farming of a new players and involve a peronal skill to matchmaking… why dont do this with separate tier list? pros to pros, newbs to newbs, all in same tier.

Personally, when i got to T2 for the first time i had no problems at all. Nobody farmed me. Same happened in T3. I quickly learned it meta and stoped run&gun. I had so much joy playing with squads. Every game i hade 3-4 men squadns in bouth teams, placed against each other. I dont have this now even at T3. Most of my games im i face 4 men squads in the opposite team, while my team maybe have a 2 men squad or maybe dont. And how about combat reconasance when our captain is a T2 solo guy and enemy’ cpt is a T3 empire frigate covered by 3 of his T3 squadmates?

yeah, but u are making 30-40 k less money now. loot was all the difference betwin win or lose, cause reward for game does not take into account game result. so win a game - get a bonus of 30k loot drops with a small chance to have a green item. lose a game - just reward for battle, no bonuses.

now there is no difference at all, except a small chance to have a green item if u win. really small chance i’d say.

Premium t4 ships seem to ignore the matchmaking rules.  In many matches of all t2 and first rank of t3 ships, the “gold” named t4 ships seemed to be the only ones out of place, like they ignore the match making parameters or something.

I noticed this before the MM fix aswell, many times when I queued for T3 Realistic I would have enemies wielding T4 Premium Ships on top of some T3, so not something new :o

Not sure you understand how it works.

If you equip all T2 ships you get matched at a T2 level no matter what ships are in storage.

Works perfectly.

Yes, I will admit I am making less, and everyone is making less, and stuff is more expensive. Sounds like IRL i’d say.

Ermm… No.

When you are flying only T2.1 or T3.1 the chance to get into a higher Tier match will be very low.

I cant belive that, as i have faced many rank 11 and 12 ships even when i “just” took the wolf or katana

None i could harm.

Factory equipment on ships is an excellent idea to ensure players can at least use their shiny new ship properly once they’ve dropped all their credits on it.

Ship price hike  is going to sting for current players, no two ways about it. I presume this move is to ensure players don’t collect ships too fast - I’d say this is fair as it does not take long to get a full tree of ships.

Loot rewards have dropped to around 1/5th of their previous value - which is disappointing for anyone who spent money on a DLC pack (which allows you an extra chance to scan for loot). I am not happy with this change.

There is a legion of players ready to explain the matchmaking issue.

Now , the primary issue with the changes I’ve mentioned is not about their necessity, but the way it changes the current play style. Increased ship prices means an increased need to gain credits. It can be argued that the fastest way to do this is by running scenarios.

The problem is that at present there is a very limited selection of scenarios. On top of that, the dreadnought attack (the one with the missile launchers) is generally more difficult (mostly for random groups) and time consuming than the others. More often than not scenarios fail when in a random group. This especially hurts non-corp players and their income.

It cannot be reasonably expected that players ‘grind’ scenarios to buy ships and equipment without improvements to this game mode. It is extremely tiresome and repetitive after 5-10 games. If this were to be improved I think it would alleviate most of the financial issues.

At present with PvP being… less than desirable for many players and the PvE issues in conjunction with price hikes, players are losing interest. The changes are too drastic and too soon.

Imagine if CCP suddenly force all EVE players to buy every new ship with base fitting and pay extra money for that. And this base fitting wont match their needs in most situations and they will have to refit, spending even more money. I doubt that community will be happy about such decision
