Star Conflict OBT v 0.7.12

I had just installed the game when i voted and was not aware of the imbalances that would be caused by having adjacent tiers fight each other. I would like to recast my vote for keeping tiers separate. Also your site application for buying standards is malfunctioning but was happy to take my money. I hope to see either the standards or the money back. Also I’d like to add that I find the jump in ship prices and the added on stuff that they come with to be a strange and unpleasant decision. I know there is a lot to be said about not whining during a beta but if it makes any difference it is the equivalent of sinking sixty dollars into your game, which i planned to do having put down the 10.5 USD for starters, or zero dollars, which is my new plan while i wait to see how future changes are handled.

Due the the fact that many people have already expressed the same feelings for this new patch I will refrain from bitching about it. The new Launch screen is a nice addition, as well as the closer makers on the HUD. This game was a lot of fun for me before this patch. Though last patch the only 2 per squad without a license was bullshit and sucked a fat babies xxxx. I wouldn’t mind spending money on this game if it’s done right. Already 150+ in so far and that stops until you guys an fix this mistake of a patch.

 

Keep the lower repair costs,  Add an option to buy the ship fitted or non fitted (Many people have said this and kudos to all). I won’t buy a ship when I’m going to rip everything out to put better into it. The HUD is fine for now, Restore everything else back to the last patch with these put in and I have a feeling everyone will be much happier.

 

So say this is pay to win, but so far mostly everything is cosmetic or can be bought with game currency as well as real cash. Nothing is money only and what is isn’t OP. So you have that right and I respect it. Good luck gents.

 

Also take a look at Planetside 2 by Sony online entertainment. They have a concept that could have owned the First person shooter world. Right now they are so xxxx**ed it isn’t even funny. Listen to the people that play and try to stick with it. Not everyone will be happy but no one is happy with PS2 right now. *Prays Star Conflict won’t turn out like PS2*

I got to say the mixing of tiers is very very very bad. But i think where alot of players are messing up at is them say “omg the game is broke i quit.” This is a BETA. This is what they DO. I have beta tested about 5 games in my time and at one point in each one there was a patch that totally made the game broke and messed up, but guess what they fixed it and moved on. They need our feedback and our suggestion to make sure when this game comes out that it rocks and works. Get mad thats fine but going on a rant demanding changes and saying your leaving can be fixed by you hitting alt and f4 at the same time and going about your business because we need serious players and testers who want to see this game to be a blast to play. A few changes will make the patch better but we shall see.

Anaconda mk II: “Energy Consumption of Sniper Modules Decreased by 20%” - where are these elusive frigate sniper modules?

I really don’t like complaining but i really think that some kind of criticism is in order. With hope that constructive criticism is the means to improve the game.

I understand that you are in phase of changing, experimenting, improving the game. Trying to see how to make the game more interesting, just improvement.

But i really believe that this patch turned in the wrong direction.

First off. Increase prices off ships and equipment they bring with them. I understand the idea of it and its pretty interesting but the fact is that a lot of people even know are just replacing most of the items implemented in to the ships and replacing them with what fits their preference more, that’s a fact. I understand its easier for new players to jump in to the game having a ship ready for battle and being able to just rush in with a ready ship.

Effectivnes  and money calculation. I get it you want people to less pew pew and do more useful things, its understandable but when you dont get extra points for defending the bacon and u get dozens of them by picking up the bomb dropping it and picking it up again its actually a really broken mechanic (I don’t say that every player in the world is doing it but technically its actually even discriminating some of the roles of the ships in certain games) You reduced the repair cost of the ships what is really nice but compering it to average effectivnes of the player, a decent match earns us even less money than before changing actually nothing, not really rewarding good players and penalizing the decent ones at best.

Participating in battles with ships of a rank far below yours, gives you less reputation. Here I admit is the reason i write the post, its more of a personal rant than anything else but still i believe there is more people like me that share this opinion. I am a collector, I play the game slowly, I get every ship from the tree in the game and level its synergy to max then buy next one from the same level. I’m at the very end of T3 Empire tree and im nearly level 12. And I ask you honestly what was so bad about it ? Why was it so bad that i was able to level up faster enjoying the game slowly, where i planned to change to empire after reaching level 12 (and leave T4 ships to level up when i get rest of the factions). I really believe its a very strange idea to reduce something that shouldn’t matter. I get more reward points at T4 anyway than i get on T3 so why would you penalize me more for my preference ?

 

I really believe you are doing a great job at the office guys but this path has created to many issues and maybe implemented them to drastically and to fast at the same time. 

Hope its not TL;DR and you will at least take my humble opinion under consideration.

Plasma Needle module got nerfed and also reducing dmg. Ok, that was needed probably, plasma was too well-rounded weapon.

Hey, what do you know, the initial loyalty mess WAS the calm before the storm.

 

OK, let me the good stuff out of the way:

 

  • Indicators around the HUD is good.

  • Extra voice lines in PVE (while the writing and the english voice acting leave much to be desired) are good.

  • New launch window is kinda good.

  • Didn’t play the new game mode, so I can’t say anything bad about it.

 

… Yeah that’s pretty much it for the good stuff. Everything else is rather horrible.

 

Regarding the new matchmaker: I can see how this can be a good idea. Separating the early tier from the later tier, if there are enough people in both sub-tiers, sounds good. Tier N people with full blues being matched with tier N+1 people with whites could work. Throwing everyone together when there are enough people for better separation sounds like a bug, in which case a few simulations or test games would have shown you that. You couldn’t be bothered to spend 10 minutes testing if the new MM is working as intended?

 

Regarding the rewards nerf: This looks like a bug to me (like the ship reward bonus not counting), in which case, as above, ONE game would have revealed that. If this was intentional, then seriously guys, stop trolling us. “Players complain about the grind? HERE’S MORE GRIND!”. Also, stop trying to fix what wasn’t broken.

 

Regarding the whole money-grabbing hypothesis: I would think that the number 1 rule of making money is “don’t piss off your potential customers”. Question to the developers, is it working? Are you getting more money? Because from what I’ve seen, the population dropped from 4k to 2-2.5k to 1.7-1.4k since I started playing. A few days ago, I even saw it drop below 1k (off-peak) for the first time.

 

With the current state of the game, playing Major Mayhem on my smartphone seems like a better use of my time.

It is a typo, checked it now. Still that means thay didnt test this patch at all befor release.

Offencive fighters lost all offencive modules

Plasma needle nerf.

So many ninja-nerfs. We, as free beta testers, have to FIND their changes first in order to actually test them. Genious.

As an add notation to my criticism of money decrees repair decrease point that it is causing we get less money i will give the newest example.

As I have the boos we have to include that i earn 50% more money than other players.

Before the path I was capable of gaining 110k-130k credits per wining game. Repairs of totally destroyed ship will with only 1% health remaining was equal to ~46k credits. What granted us 64k-84k of pure income from map it self.

For a match now after the path i gain 90K-110k credits per wining game. And repair cost of a 1% health ship was… wait a for it…39k. What leaves us with 51K-71k credits reward.

 

People say that the cost of missiles was increased as well apparently I can’t say anything on that matter as I don’t remember the decent cost that i payed for a full refill. If it is really so that shows that reducing the repair cost was not even worth mentioning as we don’t get anything from it as a player.

 

Edit: the ships and repair i mentioned are T3 MK2 ships (level 8 Empire)

I too have tested many games and I agree with you on many points. I’m going to stick it out, but only by playing PvE until this is fixed. But what I don’t get is why they take a poll and get about 50% of voters to say “DO NOT MIX TIERS” and the very next patch they mix the freaking tiers. This wound is very much self inflicted…

Are the ships that come with a DLC plugin also supposed to have a set of basic modules? Because mine did not. Also I did not get the full Warehouse space that is advertised on the Galaxy Explorer pack :frowning:

Btw anyone else feels kinda cheated of their gaming weekend? i was looking massively forward to just play starconflict, the remaining days of my license to the fullest but i just cant be arsed.

That change would actually make sense though, provided higher tiers reduced rather then increased damage reduction. I.e. each weapon does maximum damage in its “native form” and reduced in the “alternative form”.
