Star Conflict OBT v.0.11.7 Discussion

We are supposed to be “Mercenaries” so yes it makes sense to defect to Feds then change to Empire and back to Jericho again… It probably also makes it easier for new people to understand so they don’t keep asking how to change contracts I guess

Biomorphs in PvP just appear after like 2 minutes (everytime afaik) and attacks the closest person in sensor range that isn’t invisible or camo’d etc. They have very large sensor range so if you are not hiding behind a rock they will come. Haven’t killed one so idk about what rewards there are if any.

nice patch apart from a few things. adding biomorphs into pvp? take the bots out, don’t add more in dammit xD. new daily reward system is very nice, changing hanger for 40k is very nice, pve change is very nice, invasion looks a little better. but pvp :frowning: stop killing pvp. that is the best bit about this game, dont make it a weird pve/pvp mix please. also RT and a1ma still need to be nerfed / removed

Tbh if it’s only a small group of aliens that spawn randomly and stay together, it’s an extra tactical element in the PvP fights. I think it sounds interesting. And it’s only an event most likely, they will dissapear when the alien invasion is over.

It’s not bots that count towards score in elimination, so it won’t affect your team’s score when they die.

What the hell, Devs!? Why did you remove Blackwood T4? Where the hell are all the other missions for that matter?

Congratulations on utterly ruining PvE!

Come on, they gave us a great ability : Do daily reward + earn loyalty voucher much faster.

They just removed the thing that everybody abused : Doing t1-t2-t3 PvE with t5 ships.

On every MMO with grind, if you want to level up you have to face stronger and stronger enemies. Here, we used to be able to reach max level faster by farming low level.

By the way, those biomorph might make those LRF follow their allies if they don’t want to die.  :005j:

Did you even bother to read my post? T4 Blackwood no longer exists. T4. Not T1, not T2, T4. As in the one you had to bring a full Rank 10 or higher lineup to access.

Just the wrong quote.

First impressions of the update:

-Daily reward bonuses are fair now I guess

-Invasion merging with pvp, okay I guess (fantastic for turning the tables mid match)

-The portals in the stations though… That needs balancing. The scouts absolutely destructive power and perma pulsar coupled with insane kinetic resists make any new players tremble in fear. Experienced players won’t have a problem with them though.

-New invasion map, nice. but I haven’t travlled there yet, so I don’t know if the boss spawns there too.

-Hangar decor? LOVE the new decor for New Eden. I haven’t seen the jericho station yet.

-Ai path finding for guards still hasn’t changed and I have to keep freeing the imperial guardsmen from running into the asteroids

There were complains from low Tier pilots about other pilots bringing higher ships to PvE and spoiling their fun.

Instead of disallowing higher tier ships, they could have made a maximum limit of ship ranks.  +2 rank so in a T2 pve you can have a maximum of rank 8 ships, so spoiling the fun is limited.

Playing with players in a T2 pve who have ships of rank 15 is no fun at all (except for the rank 15 ship player)

Ships within one tier of the recommended tier isn’t too bad. Some of the T3 PvE missions remained challenging in T4 ships, especially if you aren’t one of the full-synergy full-purple kind of people.

But this new system is flat out wrong. I’m currently with the Empire and my choice is T2 Blackwood, T3 Blackwood or T4 Processing Rig. No other PvE is available to me.

Bad design. Terrible design. Utterly, utterly STUPID design!

We should have access to all PvE missions. All they needed to do was to give PvE the same queue mechanics as PvP; tier is chosen based on the highest ship, not the lowest. There. Problem solved. No more sneaking T5 ships in to T2 battles. Why instead go for the option that places arbitrary restrictions on players and in fact removes the most popular PvE modes altogether?

Who loves the old PVE ?

Well we all dont know what devs wana do with PVE in futue. BUT PVE as it was… was good  And now they disavled it at all.

Yes there are 3 Mission in Invasion Section now. but they are Rank and Map restricted.

So if you feel like me. Let reply here:

Thx

Some of the contracts are harder now, so the net gain is the same, if not less.

The licence on Day 5 is largely pointless if you can’t exploit it on the day. A far better idea would be to give people Gold Standards so they can BUY a Licence if and when they want it.

We are now being forced to pay to change our faction instead of having it for free. It also forces unwanted changes to invasion mode upon us each time you change faction.

Sit down and look at the systems we have now, and what we had before. Very little, if anything is better than the older systems, especially the ORIGINAL systems we had in 0,.7 era.

If they gave GS I would just save it all to get a premium ship or bundle which probably isn’t what the devs intended. They want us to pay for premium ships and that is fine and alright with me. The license system should not reward players who had abused the old system. The old system allowed you to simply log in and log off for a reward. Now you get an voucher increase in all factions instead of some measly 10,000 (correct me if I’m wrong). As well as increase in synergy and credits.

No one is ever forcing you to do anything. Travel through invasion for FREE. There is always an option and you still choose. It’s like military relocation in the US. You have to move but they still give you the option of where you can go. In the case of SCon you could: stop playing, pay a small amount of credits, or travel through invasion. If you really loved the game you wouldn’t even pay attention for the credit price. You get it in the time it takes to complete all contracts.

So again I say: stop b*tching when there isn’t anything to b*tch about.

My list of nags.

  • Whoever put thousands of Stickers around in the hangar, has no feeling for art and style. It is simply too much, looks really childish to have “No Alien” Stickers all around. I like the “For the Empire” stuff, but really, learn a bit of “less is more”
  • The forceful “bump” of your ships while in hangar, the overplayed alien sound (which was only cool because you did not hear it over and over!)… Awful! where is your Quality Assurance? Did you lose your designers? You really need somebody in your team with a feel for aesthetics back.
  • The station change is a step back. Well, now I can again swap hangar with a button. It was fine as it was.  I can live with it, but it was better as it was.
  • You keep changing around the main menu. Please dear devs, the main menu does not need simple adjustments, the whole Matchmaking process needs a complete design overhaul. Real information displayed, so players actually find each other. Ship browsing while in queue. Looking at the Sector Map while in queue. Real numbers of how many people are queueing in which tier, and how big the chance is to get a game.
  • Facebook integration is something modern games actually do not have anymore, simply because it never worked. Even blizz removed it. But well, it’s not a big thing. Steam already has share buttons.
  • Did I hear bots in SQ? I really hope that’s just a rumour.

In the lights of these changes, all the positive ones fade a bit for me. But I want to keep a balanced review, still i bring it in the end this time: yeah, 24h license is really a nice 5th day bonus. makes logging in worth it. Great work on Invasion becoming more clear, however I still suggest to your team not to focus too much and entirely on that part of the game, because it will never be the core gameplay.

It doesn’t matter what the Devs intend. That’s the point! GS is for whatever YOU want it to be for. If you want licences, save up your GS for a licence. If you want stickers or custom paint, save up for that. If you want to buy a Mauler with your weekly loyalty reward and you’re willing to put in the years of play that would take, go for it!

And yes, this system does allow people to just log in and log out. So what? We don’t always have a lot of time.to game. Sometimes people just want to get their daily reward and leave again without playing. If your 5th day falls on a day where you are working a 14 hour shift, which is something that can and probably will happen to me, you would be pretty pissed off that you essentially don’t get ANY reward for your login.

The game IS forcing you to do things. You now have to choose the lesser of several evils. Do you want Federation Contracts? Then you have to put up with a Federation Hangar. You also have to operate out of Federation Space in Invasion, so what happens if your friends don’t come with you? Why, you can’t play with them any more! Oh, wait, you can if you are willing to trek through all of Invasion mode first. Such convenience!

And lastly, contract switching was free. Now it’s not. That is not acceptable. There is no reason to charge people for that.

And this isn’t even touching the MASSIVE nerf to PvE. Here were my PvE options as of last night:

Blackwood [T1]

Blackwood [T2]

Crimson Haze [T2]

Dreadnought Sabotage [T2]

Ice Reef [T2]

Processing Rig [T2]

Crimzon Haze [T3]

Ice Reef [T3]

Blackwood [T4]

Crimzon Haze [T4]

Dreadnought Sabotage [T4]

Pirate Base [T5]

Twelve modes across seven maps. Not bad.

Today?

Blackwood [T2]

Blackwood [T3]

Processing Rig [T4]

That’s it. Three modes, two maps. No Tier 5 PvE.

Gee, why WOULDN’T I be pissed at that? Why would I ever want to xxxxx about losing the PvE map that my Corp routinely did runs of? Why would I be upset at not being able to run T4 Blackwood or T3 Ice Reef, both of which I did quite often when trying to level R10 /R11 ships?

So there is PLENTY of reason to xxxxx. You, sir, are just being willfully ignorant of what is being taken away from us with nothing given in return.

Thank you for even slowing down my T4 progression - fair PvP is impossible when my fresh R10 with lvl 2 syn going against full syn T5 now PvE is limited greatly. At least custom battle stayed as it.

Jasan, stop complaining.

It’s a Beta, it allow them to try some things. Have you ever read somewhere that this update is the last one ?

No, so don’t worry; you’ll get your pve back later.

Free GS is too much. Free license = +2 loot, +50% syn && +50% credit && +50% voucher. It’s a big reward that normally cost money and give you more than the previous =10K voucher.

There could be no daily reward, you should be glad that they give us big present that is a premium part of the game.

Biomorph invasion is an Event.

Change contract for credit : You can still change for free with invasion. But now, you are running with 2 at the same time and it allow you to do your daily SO much faster without beeing forced to have a t4+ interceptor.

Don’t forget one thing : Daily missions can give you up to 300K credit, and now you have no more travel time.

The PVE change should only affect PUBLIC games, If me and my platoon want to use T3 and T5 ships in T1 PVE LET US! we are doing no harm to anyone, now you have killed PVE, I have every ship up to T5 max synergy i have no reason to fly T1,T2,T3 and T4 ships, so i cant play with my new friends who only have T2 and T3 ships as i cant level my T5’s while playing with them, this patch is horrible,

I’m going to VOTE with my WALLET, NO more GS purchases from me or  anyone I know.

LOL at the new Invite a friend link at bottom, your kidding right? you want me to invite friends, and what exactly can i do with my friends when I invite them? TERRIBLE patch terrible. your supposed to be enticing new players NOT push people away, seriously PVE is a MESS now, well done, well done. who the hell is in charge over there? monkeys?

Jasan, stop complaining.

No, so don’t worry; you’ll get your pve back later.

Will we? Because I’m still waiting for my Phobos Aura res buff build back. I’m still waiting for my Shotgun Deimos back. I’m still waiting for fair matchmaking for 2-man squads back. I’m still waiting for full customisation options. I’m still waiting for LRFs to get balanced. I’m still waiting for T4 and T5 to be separate tiers again.

My list of things I’m waiting to “get back” is now dragging on for over a year, so I have no intention of cutting the devs slack on this.

“It’s a beta” is an excuse, and a piss-poor one. If this really WAS a Beta, they’d tell us about their ideas BEFORE implementation to find out what the mood of the player base was prior to wasting time on it. They would also roll content back when it was CLEARLY not welcome or working.

Far more likely is the Devs will simply say “well we’ve done it now, so xxxx you!”. That’s been their attitude for every other major change nobody wanted.

Free GS is too much. Free license = +2 loot, +50% syn && +50% credit && +50% voucher. It’s a big reward that normally cost money and give you more than the previous =10K voucher.

Free GS is better for me, and for other players who have either bought most of the ships, or simply gone as far up the tree as they desire… I for one already have an active licence and, especially now, I have little incentive to get another. I don’t need synergy or credits; the only thing I need is to upgrade my gear. That means Loyalty, primarily, or the GS to waste on buying my way past the loyalty grind.

If they gave us GS, then everyone wins. If a Licence is worth something to you, buy it with free GS. If it’s not, put the GS to better use.

And as to your other notion… there could be no game. By that logic we should all just accept whatever we’re given because if we complain to loud Gaijin might throw their toys out of the pram and there’d be no more Star Conflict! Yeah… somehow I don’t think that logic is going to fly.

It’s an “event” that they didn’t do a good job of pushing as a temporary change.

Yes, you can change it for free by wasting your time. That’s the recurring theme of this game; waste your time, or pay real money not to waste your time. There is a really good game buried under all this stupid, ill-conceived ‘content’, and there’s a reason that we were able to hit 6-8K players online at a time back before most of this ‘content’ was added!

Dafuq man, you’re really berserk today. You pay 40k creds not GS to avoid wasting your time. You think about yourself with the 10k loyalty at the 5’th day. Licence is a lot better for free players. Also 10k/5 days is absolutely nothing when you do 10k with your first game normally… The rest is the F2P model that works in WoT so why not use it.

Imo the PvE change is bad indeed for the PvE players. “People have been complaining about t5’s ruining their experience” is not a reason, it’s an excuse. There are a lot more people that enjoyed boosting their newly entered friends etc that people complaining about spoiled experience (i guess…i don’t have numbers but it’s an educated guess).
