True, Mecron do you plan to start a new corp for a training squad? Its hard to get together with some pros  w/teamspeak to learn these days… Look the last Pirate Raid mission…

Grind will most likely get worse, but sure, maybe in 1-2 years, you will have enough to fully upgrade one or maybe two ships of your choice.

I won’t be using them, but I will just create them. That way, I can just accumulate my resources, until I can actually decide, what to do.

 I do not fly fighters or interceptors, I fly frigate /engi) because ping. fps, pc speed hand-eye-coordination skill limits, time limits , etc…

Would it be a reasonable strategy to wait for the Ellydium frigate-class to come out? Did someone hear something?

I do not want to build a grindy alien-fighter that I do not fly…

One of the best ways for you to train is to squad with your closest corp buddy. Learn, and I mean ACTIVELY learn and improve your flying skills with every game.

What do I mean by that? I mean proactively look at what could be improved in how you fly. Even if you win I want you to look at how you can get better.

For example:

Did you die even once? Why did you die? How can you take steps to prevent you from dying in the future? Fits? Positioning? Awareness of enemy positions? Maneuverability?

These questions that you ask yourself and your wingman after EVERY battle will help you improve.

 

If you do not do this then you have ZERO excuses to blame others for losing a game. Blame yourself before you blame others.

This process is how people can “git gud”. By being proactive and doing the effort.

I am not making another corp. There is no point and I am a executive of NASA and I am staying as a part of them for as long as this game exists.

That was irrelevant to the question asked, as it wasn’t if it was possible, but how many people could do it relative to the total player base. Those things only allow for so many winners, require prearranged groups, plus are purely PvP, which not everyone is interested in, even though they, themselves bill the game as supporting both PvP, and PvE, yet so much in the way rewards are gained presents a firm middle finger to those not into PvP. By the nature of how they work, very few of the total player base will be able to get rewarded, especially to the extent of the quoted example, which was the point.

How would you describe the volume of these new needed materials gained now, during this event, without using GS, in relation to the volume of these materials needed for the currently available ship, and not just to build it, but to level it too? If your response is not something in the way of “ample,” or “very generous,” then based on past experience with stuff like destroyer materials, the availability after this event would end up being quite dismal. I mean look at all the hundreds of units of destroyer materials events would give us, generally more than enough to make one destroyer, and some even gave us monocrystals too, next try to farm that many now, outside of a destroyer release event. Just how long did it take you to get all the ones in the given images for instance?

 

By the looks of this event, we may at best be getting enough of the new materials, without using GS, and depending on your luck, to build the cabin, but look how many more you need once you have the ship. Gives me the impression that farming hundreds of units of raw Ber in OS now will seem pretty easy compare to getting those new faction materials after the event through just game play. That is unless they decide this new way to push people into buying GS isn’t working out, or this thing going on now is purposely stingy to try to get those that have to have everything now to buy a lot of GS.

A growing trend for online games for years now has been for them to put the cash shop, ahead of the game. Basically while in the past online games were games, that had a cash shop, now companies seem to view them as cash shops, with a game attached. What goes into the game, is dependant on its application to the cash shop, not that the cash shop stuff just lets you enjoy the game a bit more, while having no direct impact on the game. They want us to play with their cash shop, and will make things difficult to those, such as yourself, that have zero intention of spending any money. You are viewed as someone that costs them money, they don’t like you, so would prefer it if you quit.

Let’s see what happens. I simply judge a game by fun and fairness of progress, it’s difficult to be objective once you mix money spent into your judgment i believe, but i appreciate those who do keep it real. The year is still young ![:)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/001j.png “:)”)

Indeed I do have hope for all new stuff coming up but i’m still scared that they will introduce cool stuff in a bad way… waiting to see how it goes.

Having cash shop items is okay.
I’m glad for every paying(especially those wales) costumer. I can’t blame THEM for stuff they buy.
I blame the COMPANY itself for those pay steps.
If you have an event(and promise the new thingies introduced with it being able to get due that), then you introduce the cash shop thingies AFTER or at the last day of the event. Not in the middle/before.
And especially you don’t make a grind, that takes eons to farm them after it.
If I calculated correct, I will get ~125 xenocrystals, also enough to build it.
But what after that? So many questions and no answer yet.

it’s really not hard to find people to hang out with to play games

even if i think, playing for free isn’t really the way to get GS, and I still think, the prices are out of proportion.

thats totally not true phoenix, for years, pvp players - especially pure pvp players - had to play pve kind of games constantly for keeping up with some materials otherwise unobtainable, while many PvE players basicly entered pvp in T5 the first time, and had no income problems at all. just to finally make some of the MC drop in pvp loot was a struggle of QQ. the main income of pvp was only synergy and loyalty missions, while pve got you credits, blueprints, parts, high loot, etc, so the pvp players bought licenses, because people searching for competition usually do not like repetitive tasks. many special missions did not work there, and final weapon paths were strongly OS material, which is still mainly pve. Also, the 2017 mission is easy for someone enjoying pve, but takes long in pvp only. Finally, if you are honest about it, pve in this game is fine, but not its main appeal - not saying its bad - especially in amount of different things to do, but there are games focusing much more on pve - while there is almost no space game focusing on pvp action with team work with the amount of players. SCL is an exception, as I think, there should be awards for that, but it should stay purely optional - as i think SCL would have rocked in 2013, while by now, the game has gotten a bit of a rough reputation amongst competitive players, and entertains a very pve oriented young population, and a very old pvp oriented population.

Having a greater unified plan to make PvE and PvP somehow both lucrative parts of the game, maybe trading will help there, or some more “space aspect”. But I am not sure, if the vision is there for that, and this may sound a bit mystical without explaining my opinion (but its not some in depth knowledge, just observation), but I think, their main successful income is basicly limiting the growth indirectly.


Still just waiting for ship rank ±3 removal in equipping ships. Maybe also add a tooltip help for ingame bonuses as you equip to help fitting. Especially coming from the implant side maybe in explanation, those boni just need to make sense for everyone (unsupported implant slots available during a pvp match are matched with resistance and damage buffs, e.g.). That was by far the coolest content yet in the last few patches at least for me, and keeps me interested, as while i hardly unlocked any of the new ships, at least i can try a lot of ships i already had but never used in battle.

Everything else is atm. for me atm in a fluid balance, meaning I think there is yet to be discovered unbalance. The Gargoyle, Dart and Vigilant dominate, and I bet all the alien ships will too. Luckily the Thar’Ga get primaried so hard by everybody simply because only a few people have them. Everyone wants to see them die. So it’s fun, but I really hope, they do not lose their focus on pvp, as it is the main source for balance and fun in this game.

Maybe on 17th we will get the necessary options and answers to our problems/questions. I’m a patient man, I see something new, I wait for details.

I have a feeling that we won’t see any “polished” trading system until March. It’s just a feeling, but I am often correct.
