Star Conflict 1.3.7 Discussion

All this max synergy ship BS makes me want to puke, and everything these days requires that. I don’t like flying max synergy ships since to me, they feel “done,” and I have plenty more left to level, even though I’ve been with the game (off, and on) for about three years now. The events for those three types of weapons that got introduced a ways back, the Nyx event, and when the rank eight destroyers were introduced got me interested in the game again. Since then, it’s been all downhill, with new frustrations being added onto the old ones, resulting in far less play time, and sapping my will to spend any money.

 

Like open space, I like it, mostly, more than the other game modes, but with all these new changes, you seem to just be taking a piss on open space, like if you want us to forget it’s there. Those events I liked had me doing a lot in open space, now, nothing involves open space, and you’re removing some of the benefits it had, like reducing the monocrystal rewards. The thing I don’t like about open space, is what I don’t like about open world “PvP” in other games, it’s not PvP, just ganking. Just do what some other games have done, and make the PvP part optional, want to do it, flag yourself for it when you leave the hanger, don’t want to be picked on by rank 15, armed to the death gank squads, don’t flag yourself for “PvP.”

 

 

 

 

 

Then there’s suppose to be little green “!” icons in the ship tree for ships, and ranks that have special missions, but it’s only showing for ships I don’t have. Like the destroyer ones, the icon is there for the ones I don’t have, but not for the ones I do. Not that I have any will to do those missions, since they are all more of that max synergy BS anyhow.

Anyway, other than excess synergy + GS = free synergy, why must a ship be fully leveled to get the chance of part drops, the active playerbase would spike sky high if it just wasnt like that. Playing the game, leveling a ship, not having credit loot drops in the end of pvp or pve and a chance of finding a premium part would be heaven in a virtual reality.

Just for xxxx and giggles I cranked all my settings up to max on my laptop. I was amazed to find that I still got a good 30-50 fps in battle on max graphics when before I would get a maximum of 5. Kudos to whoever works on making things faster. Ya dun gud.

Now I have a mission that requires me to play co-op mode in a Phoenix / Reaper! But that mode is DEAD!

 

From now on, new rule - only people who actually play Star Conflict are allowed to design challenges.

I play at least 1 coop game per day :stuck_out_tongue:

i dont know if its bug or what i own phoenix and reaper and i dont have daily for bundle  its just disapear after the hotfix and cant complete it for special module

I don’t know man. I think the brokh is much better than standard engineers. It has a good module setup for high energy and good tank and the healing weapon heals shield and hull at a higher rate than eclipse. So, yeah, i think the devs need to be really careful, what special modules and ships they implement not to make standard ships obsolete.

 

“Healing”…? Since when can an engineer heal a non living object? any way thats not the point. :slight_smile: Last i checked Ingineers “repair / fix” other ships.

 

Ok the Brokk can tank, Congrats. So can my Phoenix. Now we got the idea it can tank and the modules are different.

 

     What about the Fire Power? Whats the highest dps you can get on a Brokk (With RP modules)? Does it have better fire power then an LRF, or perhaps GunShip? If it does, get me 2. :slight_smile:

    (Personal Opinion) Engineer is a nice role for some. One can enjoy fixing their teams ships and taggin along destroyers, its quite fun knowing one can help others progress and fulfill their goes. Now we have the Brokk for those who Farm and/or those with “fat wallet” who wish to be of greater support. Why not?

 

     Most of us know taking out the opponent engineer is one of the priorities in pvp.

    

      As long as the Brokks offensive DPS is below avg then the balence sould be good. This will result in a Brokk player to depend on their team for the lack in fire power this resulting in a Team Play gaming, and leading to balence on the battle field. Though if you give it enough Fire Power and it does not need assistance on the battle field, then somethings wrong.

 

P.S. I don’t have the Brokk 89/600 :slight_smile: ( I will be contacting waterball regarding his knowledge of this ship)

This must be a bug for a few users. I’m not having this issue and havent heard it from any corp mates either.

Well you say that the brokh has a good module setup for high energy and good tank. If you have problem finding a ship with good module setup for high energy and good tank, maybe you can look for the empire engineer line, all of them have high energy and good hull. The special module drone is a little bit better but not by much since you need to aim and it takes 3 seconds, your ally may already move out from the direction you are shooting.

The special weapon heal shield and hull better, but if you are comparing it with eclipse, you better try the eclipse and see how nice it is for shooting ships, it has explosive ability against destroyer, high projectile speed not only against enemy interceptor but also let you repair ally interceptor or fighters much easily than using the special weapon that shoot like beam cannon.

If you still think the brokh is too powerful, ask the devs to nerf it, every update they change the damage of some weapon, modules etc. Brokh being too powerful, at least under your opinion, doesn’t make it a reason for it to become much easier for those without fat wallet getting it.

I brought the brokh while it was able to be acquired with GS, was like 11k. It is fun to use it in pve (since I am pve player), but seriously, with octopus or destroyers I have a much higher chance to win in PvE rank 11-15. and I don’t even bother using the special weapon since the damage is just too bad, eclipse is so much better especially in fire support or defence contract while you need to deal with those bombers and those turtle with shield at the front.

Brokk is ultimate support ship. If you have to put eclipse on it, you are using the wrong ship. It shines in heavy PvP battles, SpecOps. It just doesn’t work in PvE and Open Space as a solo tank/dmg dealer, but if you are going 3 destroyers and brokk in fire support, you just can’t loose (although  I agree with Waterball - Octo/Naga are much better for this task).

There is a reasonable focus in SC development to get innovations into PvP modes first, and try to get not so much players into open space at the moment, yes you’r right.

I would guess its a means to get the match maker queue filled up with PvP players?

Imho at the moment rewards for support roles in the game do not encourage that kind of play style enough (i guess would be complicated to implement) … so the result is a mixed strategy and our famous Brokk is a rational expression of that.

I mentioned that in my post before yours, and other likely have as well. There’s suppose to be little green “!” icons in our ship tree for ships, and ranks of ships that have special missions available, but they only seem to show up for ships you don’t have, not for the ones you do.

Steps to get special module missions:

  1. Equip Phoenix/Reaper

  2. Select it

  3. Click on special module - you will be presented with options of current module and alternate one. If you don’t have alternate one there will be an option to “collect” parts for that module. 

  4. Click “collect” button

  5. You will get additiona 3 consecutive tasks from A. Gage. If you fullfill them (all 3 of them) you will earn one container that will grant you a part(s) for selected special module

One of the things that bug me the most about the shift to max synergy everything is how it also involved removing things we used to have. Changes that add, or alter something are generally fine, but when they pointlessly remove stuff, that’s not good. Take the monocrystal open space mission reward reduction, if that was as they added other ways in open space to get monocrystals, that would make sense, but they didn’t, the new ways are in PvP, and PvE game modes, require you to fly max synergy ships, and are only possible rewards around specific ranks. While leveling ships, the loot at the end of PvP/PvE are rubbish, it’s only if you’re flying max synergy ships that you can get the good loot, they added more rubbish loot for non-max synergy ships, removed mark IV upgrade kits unless you are flying max synergy ships, the new really desirable new loot of course is only available to max synergy ships, and then only at certain ranks. If it was just that the new desirable loot required max synergy, and that’s all they changed, it’d be annoying, but not as bad as it is now, as now things were made worse for non-max synergy ships.

I don’t think you get what I’m saying. In the ship tree you’re suppose to be able to see little green “!” icons for ships you can do special missions for, you click that icon, it pops open a window to get a mission, which you don’t see if you have the ship. You’re also obviously only thinking about the new ships you’re suppose to get specific parts for, since destroyers use common components, and they’re likely going to be adding more types, that would need more of said common components, then yes, you would want those missions to be available so you could hopefully have the components ready to go when those new ships are added.

Since the mono nerf, with all my effort, i havent made more than 5 monos per day for weeks. With those missions i could have 6 instead of 3 now and the others i find by chance in pve, pvp, spec ops, os. The credit loot is so pointless they made a 10mil bundle sink instead of removing them and i cant really see the logic behind maxed ships=better rewards other than 0.0033$ profit per 150 synergy points made into free synergy, which is convenient for the owners and not the users of the game.

New ships with new abilities nice and all but a focus on lower rank stuff.

10 million credit bundle is whined about a lot… i dont see the problem. Cant afford it then its not for you.

Noticed that with ‘improved’ MM i cannot fly support, very rare to be with a team who go for objectives.

Got the same problem, Arthur Gage missions no longer show after 1st day. Only the offer to buy more. No collect option or missions before during or after accepting star marathon.

IMHO that would indicate that you assigned for a (ship-, modules-) parts mission from A.Gage already. You can assign for 1 mission to get parts for only one of the two ships: Reaper or Phoenix .

It might just be me, but the tractor beam doesn’t seem to be doing additional damage to frigates anymore. That said, I only noticed this in co-op…

IMHO that would indicate that you assigned for a (ship-, modules-) parts mission from A.Gage already. You can assign for 1 mission to get parts for only one of the two ships: Reaper or Phoenix .

I talked to JC. He got his reward for first day and those missions are still not available several days later.

Update 1.3.7 introduced some crashes/stability issues. I already provided the logs. I also want to mention GM Hunt event, when we crashed multiple times. Will this be fixed in the next update?

VERY BAD:

Reaper/Phoenix module should cost 20 pieces each, it’s rank 8, for god’s sake!

In Rakza’s stream it was 20 - Milking people for money like that is lame. Or grind your a** off for free, to get 2 selected modules for the next 90 to 120 days, if you’re lucky.

This will drive people away and it seems that’s your objective. I would reduce both requirements to 20.

 

BAD:

Missions are tedious and boring and now you have to do it in specific game modes, like Combat Recon and AI Co-op.

I don’t want to mention that 1 assignment is comprised of 3 missions, which may be pretty demanding and long.

Win 3 times, do 20 kills with Thermal or EM weapon, enter specific game mode (Combat Recon) and kill or damage the Captain. Who designed this sh*t?

This needs to be redesigned and not restricted like this. I will create a new, proper example how it should have been done!

 

BAD:

Missions for the modules are not marked with a green exclamation mark, even if you own both ships. You have to do this manually and this cause confusion to some people.

 

VERY GOOD: Archelon, Stingray and Brokk can now give monocrystals instead of vouchers!

I got maxed out vouchers and this chance is really smart and good. It gives people who already bought such ships an incentive to benefit from such changes!

At least something positive for a change!

Maybe it’s a stupid question but when you said they give mono, how are they giving it to us? by loot at the end of a pvp or pve or they generate some?

If you get a ship token for a ship you already own, it awards a monocrystal instead.
