New stats for firestorm? I want to know if they will actually help a LOT against destros before I dare to log in. Anomaly is good, but my problem is these changes all affect efficiency against other ship types also. We need a specific anti-destro weapon that is good enough to receive PMs from destro pilots complaining about it being OP.

This looks like a knee-jerk patch to me.
Guard’s are completely obliterated from PvP because Destroyers are tankier, and do so much damage that even the right phase shield setting wont save a Guard from being shot down quickly by its weapons.
What do we do? Let’s buff Guards in a way completely unrelated to that! Let’s give them a stronger Anomaly Generator to chase away those Destroyers!
Except you wont ever see that Anomaly Generator used on Destroyers, because you will contribute more using it on people that aren’t Destroyers. The weapon remains a OHKO weapon on most ships, and giving it an extra charge makes it significantly more powerful.
Sure, you can whiff your three shots against a Destroyer and do roughly 70k EM damage, but then you find out that a Destroyer has more health than that, and that it’s shield generation allows it to simply not care.
The buff on Missile Shield is odd too. Tempest Launcher continues to completely negate the Missile Shield due to the sheer amount of missiles fired, so all you’ve done is nerf Octopus and Firestorm.
Buffing Firestorm to do more damage is something that will only make other classes weaker. You’re better off using it against things that are not Destroyers, because you can actually kill those.
Adding T4 Doomsdays into the game only does the same thing. Interceptors and Fighters will use them to more easily kill other ships. Ships that are not Destroyers to be specific.
We also made balance tweaks tied to active modules and ship weapons that can effectively fight against the destroyers.
Are you sure you haven’t just applied balance tweaks to make ships more effectively fight ships that aren’t Destroyers? Because even though the damage is higher, Destroyers remain to have no counter.
Their immense health pool continues to ensure that you cannot nuke them down. Even throwing all your Anomaly Generator or Firestorm charges against one wont bring it down.
Sure, they can’t fire all weapons in a direction, but the sheer amount of cannons they have and the fact that they can always fire a few of them means they have effectively no blind spot. Yes, you can hang behind them and only get shot by only 2 of its 16 cannons, but the fact that does still does 1k DPS combined with its huge health pool means that it is pointless to do so. Compare this to the amount of a damage a Guard can do behind itself with its weapons, and how much health a Guard has.
Their huge range allows them to completely negate their lack of mobility. Who needs more than 100 speed when you have over 8k attack range? And why would you want to get closer than 6k range anyway? Then you would risk getting hit by enemy Destroyer modules!
If you want to make Destroyers actually fit into the PvP of the game, you will have to give players a way to play against it.
And in case its not obvious yet, giving other ships stronger nukes wont do that. You will have to give Destroyers an actual weakness.
Every Frigate has its weakness. Snipers are squishy in general, Engineers don’t do nearly as much when you throw a missile on them and destroy their drones, and Guards are only resistant to one damage type at the time. Combine this with hanging in their blind spot and you can take them down relatively easily.
Weapons of rank 8 destroyers can now be upgraded to legedary level
Resources are required to upgrade weapons
Including monocrystals
Including neodium plates
I’ll repeat that a lot of players would prefer it if monocrystals and neodium were obtainable through PvP and PvE somehow.
Aside from that, the upgrade costs aren’t bad. 50 Neodium is a lot, but if you consider the fact that Mk5 upgrades are only really there to serve as a bit of extra progression most people wont bother with given how little it matters, its not so bad.

r9 firestorm now does 10500 damage total. (2100 per shot)
I don’t know if the other stats have changed.

One actual weakness of destroyers can be: Destroying parts of them do % damage to their hull not a fixed amount as this can be countered with just adding hullslots.
Made a point of losing engine/special module do 10% each and every active module 7.5% each for a total of 50% health lost with all destroyed.
This could even be 75%. (15% / 11.25%)
Making it a real weakness and giving sneaky enemies an enormous advantage.

But those are actually quite similar to that of other ships. The only “weakness” this introduces is that a Destroyer doesn’t have full firepower when shooting forwards.
Most ships have 4 weapons, whilst Destroyers have 12. The Destroyer weapons have roughly equivalent damage when compared to other weapons. The only reason they don’t actually do three times damage is because they’re never allowed to fire all weapons at once. They can only fire 4 weapons in most directions (creating roughly equivalent DPS to other ships), whilst firing 8 weapons to the side and 2 weapons behind them.
But if you actually did the math, you would know that those 2 weapons they can fire behind themselves is actually more DPS than other frigates can do with their weapons, since those can only fire ONE weapon behind themselves.
The r11 Meson Cannon and Coilgun do 641 and 479 DPS respectively, resulting in 1282 and 958 DPS behind the destroyer.
It doesn’t matter whether you compare it to the r12 Beam Cannon (455DPS), r13 Heavy Blaster (612DPS) or any other non-destroyer weapon in the game. Because you only get to fire one of them at the time, you will do LESS DPS than a Destroyer does. Even a Long Range Frigate can only fire a single weapon in most of the area behind itself.

But then the vets will tear randoms even more, since vets doesn’t care about repair cost and randoms probably won’t be able to afford repairing them after every battle…
How about, limiting the destro usage one per battle, banning the possibility of bomb carry for them since it’s an unfair advantage and boost other ships a little in their base stats because in open space everything is stronger and with destros, these “old” ships seem obsolete. Also, more resist for frigates, especially guards and hull/shield points, they should at least be 1/4 of the destroyers base stats to make any sense.
It would be nice to stop with these overcrowded pvp battles, 10v10 is a joke since 7 out of 10 spawn in a destroyer by default, 5v5 would be perfect with one active destro per each side, whoever picks it first in the loading screen gets to play it first, simple.
All these buffs on weaponry can only be used against other ships, since it can kill smaller ships and not heavily damage a destroyer. Making the destroyers weaker is not really smart since its not that easy to build one without special missions and rewards and then being easily killed in every single battle u participate in with a destroyer.
Make more options to counter destroyers or even special anti-destro modules that at least require some skill to use and not press a button to insta** -blow up every destroyer in the game.**
Nothing has changed in terms of player/user experience because your goals are technical:
“we will boost this feature because we think it will balance this thing”
please maybe suggest changes and open them for discussion before you commit them… At least it will give you a minimum of knowledge to base your changes on

I wanted to rant, but then along came a gravi lens and destroyed my text.
I am happy for the US players being able to enjoy better open space servers tho, and in a parallel universe generally all additions in this patch were kinda okay. Just not, what you expect a team to do if they want to react.

so, you want to limit to one destro per battle and enjoy small scale games?
larger games work better for this game, as individual skill levels and class differences are neglectable the bigger the match gets.

your “solution” is basicly to make pvp more into leagues, because what, that has so much popularity?
maybe destro should be incapable of picking up bombs, but then again, people would start to block bombs with them.
i dont think an easy solution is possible, without redesigning the whole point and spawning system to integrate the new destros, over simple fixes like “limit this to 2”, etc. will only accelerate the downfall.
What about making ECM effect last double on destroyers… i remember how we all “love” to get stunned.
ecm already does have some counters, so yeah
at least it can turn the gravi lense around. which does not really make it better.
or the destro defense shields could be more easy to destroy with smaller weapons, and be more used against destros, not to rofltank the team? it could get bonus damage if hit by multiple non-destro weapons of different type of damage, or similar things.
but for me its more about a gravi lense change anyway. it really should stop at 1hp. force to make the kill another way. it would be still devastating with havoc in combination. it’s just annoying as hell.
- Orange guns for destroyers - that was to be expected after you introduce a p2w ammo. Right cuz there needs to be just a teeny little bit more damage.
- So back then, when Doomsdays (Apocalypse) were available from t1 to t5 after a couple of months you decided to act on the needless noobfarming and made them exclusevly rank 15. Radical as ever. Now you need them back, so there is some technical counter for you guys. There take Doomsdays, they will fix everything.
- The anomaly buff is nice, but not too astonishing as this “missile” makes you maneuver like a total lunetic.
- Firestorm - could you be more specific_? “Enhanced”_ should we make a research team to uncover the true meaning of StarConflict patchnotes?

Still no Squadding. Please, reimplement this. If you truly want leagues to flourish, then you gotta give the people a place to train and bond. This is inhibiting to the the skills and teams of all the corporations. Just terrible.
Btw, the ppl who cried the loudest against squads, aren’t playing anymore. So please just do it and stop selling us orange guns for 100 monos each.
