Different resources for different tiers of destroyers? Is that really necessary?

 

vs. AI gamemode is about as fun as it sounds and may only serve to draw more people away from actually playing the game.

 

There is a serious inflation of monocrystals going on here with another new set of missions which hands them out like candy, why even bother going into open space at all now?

 

That destroyer control thing and things like auto-fill for forward fleet now (the decisions that makes have yet to be proven) are nice minor improvements, which are one step ahead after about fifty back.

 

I strongly dislike this patch and the direction this game is headed right now.

Cogs, think about the endgame content this way: the new game modes like leagues were designed to give endgame vets something to do. I’ll agree with you in the fact that it is not an ideal alternative to removing high tier squads, but at least it does give a rather impressive reward that can be repeated each week: 30 monocrystals.

If Astraal up there wants to play the game _and _get stuff for his Secret Projects, Leagues are ideal for obtaining those resources. It’s not asiangrindfesty like how he states, but rather it’s 5-man T5 elite fun, old school sec-con style.

The ‘regular’ leagues can be, and usually are fun, sure, but the ~top 10 matches show just how many things are broken in this game/gamemode, because competitive gameplay exploits everything there is to exploit. And there are a lot of things to choose from.

(putting in spoilers, since it’s not really on-topic)

E.g. leagues being 5v5 CtB matches is a misunderstanding - on a competitive level - because most maps are too vast to be strategically covered with just 5 people at your disposal, which is why recon spam/cruise fighter fests are so popular. Properly played recon spam teambuilds with so few people on such big maps are just too effective.

 

Cruise Jaguars with two heals and the 7/15 cloak are virtually unkillable when piloted by even half-decent players, unless they make a serious mistake and then get ganked up on by a gunship and a spy drones recon assisted by an ECM, and even then most of the times you need to do it twice due to the r14 implant.

 

Flux phasers take the skill (and therefore fun) out of the matches, too, because they deny any ships that normally need to be debuffed or greatly outplayed in order to be countered.

 

Normal phasers’ range could use some adjusting as well.

 

Then again, if the gamemode was set as 7v7 or higher, the situation wouldn’t be as dire. Still though, cruise engines need a drastic nerf as soon as possible, they suck out the fun of most of gamemodes, not only leagues.

 

As for squads, sure, I agree. I also agree with - I think - Jasan’s suggestion in another thread that squadding should be allowed since T3+ just to force newbies to learn teamplay, but as long as I get to play in T4/5 squads, I don’t really care that much, but that’s only because I don’t play T3 anymore.

 

Btw, Mecron, a thing you seem to have forgotten is that lack of squads is only one of the problems in T4/5. There’s also really, really bad MM, tier-rushers (at least the ones who managed to do it before that grind wall patch), premium rushers who as far as I know still run freely, no restrictions as to how many ships a pilot should have equipped, and generally no restrictions as to who actually should be playing in the higher tiers - in my opinion there should be a number of matches played required to be able to launch T4/T5 in the first place, but hey, call me weird.

 

And that’s just to list some of the problems vets need to deal with on a daily basis.

Rank 15 in all factions, I play this game pretty much everyday and I don’t have enough to build a rank 8 destroyer or any of the special rank 15 ships I.e Jaguar etc

BUT

fecking players who only have a max of rank 9 with any faction are flying around in destroyers thanks to the rank up bonuses they get now, they aint fecking on at all!

 

If you Dev’s want the rank up bonus then fair play, give every rank up bonus in one lump to the rest of us who have grinded our asses off over the last few years,

 

Because trust me on this, I won’t be putting another penny of my own money in again until this crap is sorted and pretty much everyone else in my Corp has said the same thing!

Unless i missed it, i still haven’t seen a official response from a developer about how Beryllium will work, so reposting this question.

With the introduction of Beryllium, will this mean Neodium is not required for the R11 destroyers or will both Neodium and Beryllium be required to construct the R11 destroyers? 

Will there be another material added to the game for the R14 destroyers?

I think the destroyers themselves aren’t that much of a issue (they need to be fine tuned of course), i think the number of them allowed per team should be capped so if that limit is reached you can’t pick a destroyer until one of the other people picks something different.

 

Thanks for feedback, we can’t implement market even if we want it, it will be one of the most serious game decisions and demands a lot of resources

To be fair even though i really dislike how grindy this game can be when it comes to materials and whatnot, i completely agree with this post.

Some sort of marketplace would just be a waste of resources and time imo (like Doom said, it takes a lot of resources), which could be used in different areas of the game. Not to mention that even though i’ve seen the number of players increase lately with the addition of destroyers, i still think we’re not even a big enough of a community yet to support something like a trading/marketplace system, let alone how a system like that would fit into the game.

 

So far from what I see going on here, we aren’t going to get all those resources we would have gotten from reaching our respective ranks  :003j:

I hope they change their minds on this and give the people who already reached those rank up milestones at least something worthwhile, thus far it just looks like stubbornness and contradicting arguments in my eyes.

To be fair if what CoalitionOfGears wrote is really all that he wrote which could be construed as a insult than it’s not really a horrendous insult and most certainly not a personal insult.

I’m sensing some hypocrisy on the side of the developers/Doomb0t here, the communication from their end wasn’t optimal at all in the past as well, even in recent months (not to be all negative, communication is definitely better compared to like a year or so ago), i mean were do you think the NO! ‘‘joke’’ came from? :wink:

 

If you can’t get the economy right, how about you get resource gathering right and let us mine for specific resources instead of playing your dumbass roulette.

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, one thing which would already make me quite happy…PLEASE at least remove the 100 credits trophy, impure sillicon and impure vanadium already from the rank 10+ zones, they’re just a slap in the face imo (heck less worthless/common stuff overall in those zones will be great).

You’re seriously complaining about to many monocrystals?  :013j:  These things are still the rarest material in the game because you can’t farm them unless you want to spend money on it. I’ll take them whenever i can, the only thing i don’t use to get these are tournaments and leagues because i don’t really like squad gameplay/matchmaking.

PS: Am i the only who thinks the neodium plates are a bit to pricy to craft?

Though destroyers were already implemented in the previous patch, i only just constructed a destroyer to participate in the broker missions and i noticed those neodium plates per plate cost 100k to craft and that’s just crafting the plate, when you have to use it in the actual construction of a destroyer you will have to pay again for the destroyer’s internal structures. I say cutting the price in half to 50k would be more reasonable, especially if you compare it to the cost of crafting some other materials/parts.

So basically, this F2P has gone P2W. On top of that, Doomb0t has zero idea how player suggestion can make or break a game. If you guys continue to pump out new content, all you’ll get is new players, spending new money, all so you can develop new useless things that’ll force out those older players that have invested money into a game that isn’t even worth it anymore. I’m insanely put off by the Spec Ops matches. I’ve played more than 35 of these matches, which regularly take 15+ minutes, only to have beaten one. I get the master race attitude about how games have to be hard to keep the kids out, but THIS IS NOT EVE. This is an arcade style space shooter, and trying to push these hardcore MMO aspects on us is ridiculous. My next gripe is Synergy rewards. Exp is given for just that, experience. If i play a match for 20 minutes, kill 5x what anybody else does, I should get a reasonable amount of synergy regardless of the outcome of the match. Making us grind even more than the game mechanics force us to already, just because other players have zero skill, is disheartening. The game has turned into a cash-grab, and it’s apparent in the forums with the way Doom has spoken to people. As a dev, you should show respect to the players, even if you don’t like how they are going about something. One last thing, with no market or trading in the game, how is there any sort of player economy? Does economy mean something different where Doom is from?

I remain equally baffled and frustrated at the fact i want to spend money on this game, and the devs clearly don’t want me to because spending money either doesn’t achieve jack xxxx, or you have to spend hundreds of pounds in one go.

I say a major fix to this stupid economy hole would be implementation of a dedicated mining system. Maybe as a module or item or something. Just remove the randomness from it all.

Considering the naming of neodium, I’m surprised the new resource isn’t called berlium, or something similar.

 

(also seriously do we need a 12th currency/bottleneck in the game? I feel like 10 was far more than enough, and then neodium came along…)

the new resource, and the fact you cannot complete the missions without owning a destroyer - it is like the worst joke come true: “Ah, all they will do is introduce yet another scarce resource and more PvE tasks”

 

why design stuff like this, is beyond me. it is by far one of the worst moves since forever. its so bad, i wont even talk much more about it.

 

other stuff is nice. the new gamemode is for young players, and a nice replacement for missing custom battle rewards, but i whish grouping was also a thing in pvp, as rewards. giving the na timezone more leagues is a good step, as is the ability to finish some missions in pvp.

Regarding forward missions:

I love the Autoassign button. But. I don’t know if that was intended - you cannot get 100% reward now. It’s capped at 96%.

 

You still get 100% reward even though it initially shows as 96%. Checked it today, i got the full 49500 vouchers :slight_smile:

I hope that you can extend the League to the middle of February or something.

Our League’s Leader is offline for 14 total days now and I cannot invite any new players as a regular member in his League Team, even when it comes to the same corporation.

This system is broken and it should be fixed ASAP.
