^ If Spacial scanner was needed to loot blueprints, it would be p2w because many blueprints are not available in the store.
And it also prove that Spacial scanner isn’t really useful.
Right now, I prefer take a screenshot of the map + take notes on it of where I found loots than paying 6k GS, which is 10€, where I could use them to have a premium ship.
And yeah, that’s a little strange that you got 2 of them right off the bat.
Not someone from the dev team nor close.
And yes I got that nice stuff, yesterday I got some pirate module for Gunship, a bunch of credit loots and 2 pirate shield boosters for t4 size S and L
I was told that it wouldn’t spawn if you didn’t have the scanner. In fact 'till I started using it I never ever saw one of them.
And then the first day using it:
…
But it’s good to know that they spawn for everyone. It wouldn’t be fair if it didn’t.
They told you a lie “Valuable loot” keep spawn everytime for everyone, You only need to know where to go. Spatial scanner become useless once you know the right places. Something that you can do also by sharing informations between players, without the scanner.
Spatial scanner is a convenient tool, it saves you a lot of time searching for these looting nodes, even if you know exact coordinates for each spot, there are multiple possible spawning points on the map, and without a scanner you have no idea in which one it has spawned, so you gotta go around (plus there is always a chance there is some one else snagging it while you are searching for spawn)

On a 700ms premium ship, it’s only a few seconds of travel.
For 6k GS, you should have more than just a few seconds won.
6k GS is the price of t5 premium ship under sale.
Buy the tackler, equip it with sensor and cruise engine, and enjoy the free respawn and the +2 cargo slot.

It’s far better than a that Spacial scanner.
A) it is not “couple” seconds
B) if there is some one else looking for lootz with the scanner, you gonna bite the dust every single time, since you do not know what spot to go to.
C) you don’t have to “record” and search for every single possible spawn point, plus how do you learn about those without a scanner or someone else showing you those spots?

Assuming you used those 6k gs for a premium ship and him for spacial scanner : He don’t have a premium ship. He have less cargo slots than you and will need to use the drone sooner.
He still pick everything ? Kill him, he don’t have free respawn, but you do.
Don’t want to take the risk ? Look where he is going, and follow him or go somewhere else. Use him as your own spacial scanner.

Traveling, doing daily, corp/friend, following players.
There’s loots everywhere. Don’t tell me that you don’t find at least one by yourself.
When you’ve found a rare loot, just note his location somewhere.
It works too with missions like “Find the X item” / “Kill X station-rare enemy” / “Protect-destroy cargo” …
i am specifically talking about Mysterious containers, in order to revel those you must be in 150-200m proximity, otherwise that loot is INVISIBLE unless you have a spatial scanner that will direct you to it. That container has multiple spots on the map where it COULD spawn, if you do not have a scanner, in order to find it you must get into 150 proximity of spawn point all over the map, to confirm that it is not there or find it. It has at least 5 minutes internal respawn timer, there could be only one on the map at a time (not every map as well). Chances of you revealing it without a scanner, just by accident are miserably low, might as well win a lottery in real life, so someone has to show you EXACT location of it, or you won’t be able to reveal it and loot it. And you have to stop from 700 to 0 within a sphere with 200m radius, no matter how good your memory or recording of coordinates, it will take time to hit exact spot to reveal those, plus since you do not know if its actually there, it will take you even more time to do small fly arounds. If anything I would like to see how you “farm” these mysterious containers without a scanner efficiently.

In fact, you can’t loot those T5 and pirate blueprints if you don’t have the Scanner equipped. They won’t even spawn in the map for you.
So that’s where that rumor came from. But hey, with those kind of statistics the frakkin things might as well not even spawn.
Again, avoiding the accusation of Pay-to-Win by giving players a 0.0000001% chance that they could stumble upon it by accident. *headdesk*

Container in itself has almost the same lootz as alien stashes, for me ratio is about 1 BP out of 15-20 lootz, the rest is anything out of
150 000-1000000 credits (most common)
Screened battery/processing chip? the crafting mats- cant remember exact name
15 000 vouchers
So 1 out of 15-20 looks very good on paper, until you look at how it is - most efficient place to loot these is central 4- since all 4 locations has this node, but there are plenty of people searching for these, or any other type of loot, even with low population of 600-700 people i had to fight for these, plus you can not be in 4 locations simultaneously so while you are searching for one on one side, some one else is taking it from other side. Granted i had a very good 2 hour farm right after servers came online, and invasion was empty. Sometimes you get lucky with location servers distribution so those hunters get on different instance, but that is happening more when there are a lot of people, which is already bad for your farm.
In invasion, you can farm alien, players, random debris,…
And there are some mysterious containers that are visible too.
It’s not like if they give 2 millions credits
Fact is that a premium ship is much better for that price. It’s my point of view, you can disagree.
But not repair cost (self destruc when mission finished)
+2 cargo slot
free duplicator
For me it’s much better than a scanner. Btw, that premium ship you can use it outside of invasion mode, while scanner…
Spatial scanner can be fit on any ship, prem or no prem of a tier, so depending on what you want to plan on doing you can bring it along to supplement. Prem ships have it is own benefits, spatial scanner saves considerable amount of time in invasion for “farming” without p2win-must-have-it part. It is a good module.
Finally, dev agreed with us that this scanner need and buff and said they are wworking on it. So, just wait and see!
Originally Scanner only had green bars, then they added red color to AI NPCs, then they added mysterious containers and Light blue color to the scanner.
can’t remember at what stage crit was added though
